It’d because of development costs, they would lose money or believe it or not have to sell even more. They don’t make a fortune on the cars like you’d think. The original Veyron was sold at a lost per unit.
Frankly, VW IMO are no longer the VW groups most inviting cars for the "average joe". IMO, Seat and Cupra are making better looking cars than VW and, IMO, AUDI too. CUPRA Leon and Formentor look better than their german counterparts. Heck, these days I would take Peugeot over VW as far as looks go. Wish I could, for money a normal person like me can muster, could get Japanese/Korean dependability in European design package. That would be fantastic.
Nobody will buy it though. It's basically proof that Alfa has nothing else coming. This is the time where they can bring new models to stay relevant. The fact that they aren't doing that, makes me thing FCA is going to let them deteriorate like they did with Lancia.
Looks good. Im also sure it drives well. But the issue for me with the giulia is the interior, infotainment and lack of new technology. They are years behind on that stuff, so i would either wait for the new m3/m4 or get the c63s

Gaps between parts that aren't consistent, trunk lid that crooked... the most normal thing for an Alfa. Odd and a pity, because literally all of their cars at the moment look and drive great.

I've been a massive Ferrari and Audi fan all my life, but this Giulia GTA (without the M) ... my god it's just the perfect sedan. There's no way a sedan could look any better than this. It's sexy, classy, sporty and stylish all in one. No one can surpass this. There's no way on Earth a 4-door sedan could look any better and if you think something else actually does, you need to get your eyesight and head checked.
