Often, our quest to know more creates a tendency to feel less, which can only slow the trajectory of our healing journey. As we heal, confusion is yet another layer to embrace that no amount of information can resolve. Please keep in mind this video was filmed over a year ago. I chose to release it now to assist so many going through seemingly endless depths of pain. It all has a very happy ending that I will be sharing soon. Thank you for reaching out. This is exactly what I needed to hear at this moment. I just lost my amazing husband of 12 years to Suicide and it has been the most difficult, painful experience I have ever thought I would endure.

So good to hear a spiritual teacher talk about devastation. With such clarity stating that we should not look at why we have attracted it. But being enlightened doesn't mean devastation isn't coming for our growth - closer to the Divine. I am going through horrific devastation right now. thank you for posting this. I just hope I can make it through this hell fire as you did and know what to doif anything.

My kitty croaked last week too, I feel you 🙏
My kitty also died very suddenly after a new cancer diagnosis. I felt devastated but very present to the healing that was taking place related to grief of my first husband. Very powerful and now my heart is blasted wide open! Grateful but still miss her physical presence. However, we are far more attuned now than ever! Blessings to you and your kitty spirit.

I lost my little man(3year old kitty) 2 months ago suddenly and unexpectedly. He was with me through the hardest few years of my life and I don't know that I would have got through it all without him. Losing him was utterly heart breaking but i started watching 'A way out of pain' an older matt kahn transmission as soon as I got home from the vet. It gave me enough comfort to be able to sit in my pain, grieve, appreciate what was and to move forward with more love and compassion for all beings, than i ever imagined was possible! This latest transmission resonates so strongly with me, it's almost eery!! Then i read the comments and realise I'm not the only one whose devastation involved losing their beloved kitties. We are but one!!

Thank you Matt...this is exactly what I've been experiencing the last few months. Truly having a direct experience of the suffering that we human beings endure and cultivating compassion and finding God's grace. The only way out is through. I thought I was the darkness and I didn't want to be here. I have never been through such hell in my life but I'm emerging out the other side. My god given gift of writing has exploded and slowly but surely I'm being given intuitive guidance step by step...what an adventure and thank you for putting time, energy and your own vulnerability into anchoring words here for this experience and sharing them with the world. I Love you and thank you dear brother for holding the light steady as we find our way home ❤

don't miss the point, guys.... take the true message of the talk instead of getting lost in minor details. We can all relate to him because we all have experienced devastation, regardles of the specifics
Having a strong/established spiritual core helps through the most devastating experiences and keep the journey oriented towards the “true North”- but then again, Life, supposedly, doesn’t give us experiences beyond what we can handle.
I’ve been to the depth of my own and stood on the verge of “escaping” vs get through - i have tons of compassion towards those who’ve chosen to end their life and not finding their core strength to not escape and take tiny step by step back to rebuilding their Life after it’s been shattered. So grateful for those Teachers like Matt, who know how to translate the wisdom into the Words of Substance

Still not sure what happened to him but I really felt this teaching. We need to feel all emotions in the spectrum and love them all unconditionally. No one is to blame for anything and what we forgive and heal now, will be healed forever. We are masters in the making!

I am experiencing some deep pain too. The love in my heart that has been completely dedicated for her son is so deeply crucified as if it had to die.
But ... while all this is happening I K N O W: it is the invitation to recognize the true, really power of love that is indisturbable ... undestroyable.
NO MATTER WHAT.
It's "simply" the open world game of human characters - and it is NOT the role I'm choosing, to fall into judgement and rejection or grief even though I am ready and open to FEEL everything that may disappoint me in my human experience.
There are opportunities to deepen the liberation of bounded consciousness and dis-identify from the main roles we believed in.
And if there is another being who truly not is able to RECOGNIZE or to RECEIVE the loving presence or even APRRECIATE the goodness of this heart.
NO. It doesn't say anything about the innocence of our heart.
YES. It IS a magnificent invitation to love YOU more deeply ... even if it feels as if you should not be here in the opinion of the child, "I" gave birth to come into "my" life.
Everything is able to polish our true diamond to sparkle more brightly - without putting any dust onto the others diamond.
YES.
There is a free will in every being ... there is a widened acceptance inside of me for even being rejected by my "own" child ... oh yes ... it is allowed otherwise it wouldn't be there. YES.
The field of consciousness is sooooo expansive ... expanded ... wide ... and the invitation is to not identify with it and to recognize that "I, as human being here and expression of the divine" am here. Still. It doesn't kill me.
I'M HERE.

Lord Matt I had to pause this Utube. I'm trying deeply to hear but I'm hearing that I've gone from feeling to coping with feeling to feeling all to fear the devastation of feeling - I'm so confused...trusting when I hit play peace will be revealed to me...TY
I am filled with gratitude that now I know without a doubt that the 10 yrs of hell/devestation was for my spiritual growth. Yes, I did die and came back and am the stronger for it. Heard the title of the movie To Hell and Back...yep it happened to me.
This talk was in early 2017. His mom passed away in January 2, 2017. However I do not think it had to do with his mom. Or maybe it was her death that devastated him.

Wonderful video, I learned a lot and understand that the mind may be tempted to take sides, but I have noticed that many "spiritual" teachers use this reason to assume "students" are incapable of discernment to say, "here 'students' are my words of wisdom, but I will not let you know the practical details of my life because of X, Y and Z." As humans, healing is more powerful and visceral when we can put images to it. He could have told the story with disclaimers to not go into the story and take sides. Not telling the story at all, means he assumes we are incapable of discernment. In some ways, it feels like an insult too, but I know he did NOT mean it that way. Even with beautiful souls like Matt, this video shows that spiritual teaching still has some ways to go, about the (unconscious) sense of "patriarchy."

No I cannot continue with the lack of love and the abuse by family, physicians and the system. I have always been an empathic and giving soul. What I have experienced is sheer abuse. No connection, total disregard. Evil and hellish relations. I am a good person. I am smart, creative and a healer.I have been active in many ways in life. I am self taught, compassionate and giving. I cannot tolerate the lack of compassion, the disregard and the thoughtlessness. Yet family has no recognition for who I am, no value for me.I have done my best to connect yet I am abused by all. I am done trying, done with all. I am now 67 how does one deal with a lifetime of pain. I have never felt loved. Mother told me I was her "do nothing daughter" ( due to some years of deep depression)Yet I did everything and worked in nursing, bred chinchillas and ragdoll cats, I was an excellent cook and an excellent seamstress and sewed my clothes while in high school. My sisters did nothing, cannot cook and could not keep a job and yet she mimicks them and insults me. I am "the crazy cat lady" My family do not see me.
shelley bamford The hardest part is finally realizing that it really doesn't matter what they think of you . Wanting their approval is a continous downward spiral. You know your worth... stand in that even though they won"t give it to you or acknowledge it.

I took my body boy and moved far away from my family cause the abuse my son was getting from insanity of my family. that was way too much for me to handle. Lol now my son 23 is being up the same challenges my family gave me as well as my co works. I realized that I was trying to change how they view me cause I didn't like it. That's my ego saying I do like it. But they giving me a awesome gift, I realize that now of course. To sit and allow their project reality to be heard n not change it but go inside deeper inside of me and allow that part of me to cry n hear it's words and truly hold that part of of me is such a deep moving feeling. I get to love me more then I have ever before. So they bring me gifts you see. I share your love n pain. THANK YOU for sharing.

Why would you constantly seek their understanding and support? My family is the same, so I distanced myself knowing I can’t make them understand. Then what Yeshua said if you are not willing to leave your family for me , then you are not worthy of me. This of course was Krystos speaking not the man . That made it easy for me .
Ego/body/mind is on the journey, I Awareness am not. I Awareness don't share destiny and limitation of the body/mind.

I feel like the very act of recognizing that complete devastation is part of your spiritual initiation distances yourself from it, in a similar way as "being the observer" does. If the goal is to feel this devastation as completely as possible, ("let the fire rage," as he says around 19:11) to fully receive the gift from it, then it seems like unawakened people (who have no idea what's going on behind the scenes) are actually better equipped than awakened ones, who easily slip into observer mode or something like it.

Amy Kennedy / He never says, he is using his upset to attempt to explain how negative experiences are not mistakes, but actually great moments of teaching. ~ Personally, I feel Matt could teach better if he stayed in first person, instead of climbing into guru teacher mode to talk about it. I see that as a way of trying to heal himself, or distance himself from his personal upset instead of saying, “ look, I’m upset because such & such happened..” instead he turns it into a preaching .. which tells me, he is trying to fast track out of it. This is not a new teaching. He talks like this at least once a year. And he always says, this is a new & powerful teaching. Interesting. ( I’ve been listening to him for like 5 years already ? ) Anyway, nice to chat with you 🌸

I found this talk to be a bit off-putting, because he is so very extreme in describing this terrible loss, over and over, but then never naming it. I almost felt like it was slightly manipulative, luring me forward (with very strong dramatic words) without resolution. Some could say that is the ego’s desire for resolution, but I think that given the nature of this talk, it is a very natural thing to want to know what the heck he’s talking about. I know this won’t be a popular response. :-)
typical new age stuff -but yes i agree- also pretentious. i too have no idea as he seems to be leading up to something and yet not telling us.
