    I’m enjoying your calm, relaxed style as I binge your videos. I packed in a carryon and small backpack (traded that in for an underseat duffel my son gave me which came in handy for souvenirs from Europe) to travel for 5 weeks in Florida, Europe and Iceland. Iceland is chilly in the summer, think layers, fleece jacket, wind/rainproof jacket, hiking shoes (Xero Shoes Terraflex for women. I’ve had them 5+ years, light weight, comfortable, great traction, wouldn’t trade them for the world!). Washing on the road is easy if you go prepared I.e. foldable hangers and detergent seats.

    oops, I'm a little late watching this, you are probably back. I'll find the other videos. Hubby and I went to Iceland 4 years ago, but overcast the whole time, so didn't see the northern lights. We did check luggage thinking would need extras. I'll be checking your clothing suggestions. The check luggage wasn't 100% full, so took a full box of tissues, and needed it: I ended up with a nasty cold. That may sound a wasteful use of space, but a previous trip I had a cold, all we could find in Germany was tiny boxes at the pharmacies. Next time, I'll divide the tissues into ziptop bags and pack in odd spaces ;)

    _I love starting my Saturday mornings with your videos_ but I'm so jealous right now! It's been so long since I've on an overseas trip.. but soon!
    You're like the anti-influencer, but I want your channel to grow so you can influence more people so I guess we have to use that word!
    I can't believe the number of "influencers" that don't understand what a capsule wardrobe is. A capsule wardrobe can be your suits that you wear to your office.. they can be oh your weekend getaway clothes. Simply thinking of how to mix and match so that everything will extend your looks but also be practical.
    I clicked on an "influencer" a few weeks ago and it was a nightmare. This woman had more prints on her fabrics that I've ever seen in a single suitcase.. and it was a massive suitcase!
    It's really quite simple.. I wear white and khaki most of the summer and I wear black all winter .. it's just my thing. Everyone doesn't have to be that limited in their color choices but I simply like basic colors for my wardrobe and then I dress it up with colorful scarves, a fun hat, a sweater or a pashmina. I have some red packable suede loafers that dress up everything!
    Merino wool is a phenomenal way to travel. I even have merino socks and merino undies.. a quick rinse in the sink and they dry overnight and you're good to go.
    I was doing something in the kitchen and I looked away for a few moments and by the time I looked back at my tablet you had already packed your packing cube and your suitcase. _How many influencers can say that?!?_
    Practically the only thing we different is that you bring a flat iron and care about your appearance and I put my hair up in a bun and simply don't care. I will promise to care more about my hair care and makeup Etc if you will promise to consider using shoe bags! I've used shoe bags my entire adult / travel life and even if you are clunking your shoes together and knocking off the dirt it's still going to leave a little dirt that ends up in your suitcase and therefore on your packing bags.
    🔔I decided to add notifications to your channel so I will be watching you on every step of this trip! Happy travels
    🥾🎒🇳🇴

I woke up like this!"

      @ItsTheKellys  2 года назад +2

      Yes I love my new extensions for that reason! A lot of people on here want to me to do hair videos for travel, which I can, but it’s hard for me to recommend travel hair dryers when I’ve never dried my hair on vacation!

    • @IntriguedLioness
      @IntriguedLioness 2 года назад +1

      @@ItsTheKellys I have incredibly thick hair and a stylist taught me two things many many years ago... only wash your hair one or two times a week and don't use a hair dryer. I do this crazy fling of my hair into a dry towel and my hair's damp for a while and that's why I tend to put it up in a bun.
      I was actually camping at Yellowstone National Park West when a woman pulled a massive hair dryer out of her duffel. Incredulous giggle followed once I exited the bath house!
      _ I know everyone has their priorities and to each their own but I simply don't call that travel, perhaps a first time tourist faux pas.. but not the type of travel you/I prefer! 🥰 _TTFN_

    Your packing is so effortless! Sometimes I overthink it, and it always gets me into trouble. Like you, I use shower caps for my shoes. Thanks for the great info! I have a couple of thoughts regarding carryon bags. This Level 8 bag is gorgeous! My only concern is the weight. At a little over 10 pounds, it will limit the weight of the items you can put inside to keep it under the standard 21 pound weight limit for most airlines. In comparison, the Monos bag (same size) is only 7 pounds. Is the weight a concern for you? As a solo female traveler, I try to keep in mind that I have to be able to lift the bag into the overhead compartment by myself. Just taking notes here, lol.
