Anyone having issues with greyed-out settings: You need to label your HDMI input to bypass the restricted settings. Use the remote to go to the input and press 'Up' on the remote and select 'Edit'. From there, pick a name from the list of names (Game Console, Cable Box, etc.). For my PC, I had to relabel my PC (HDMI) input as 'Home Threatre' because renaming it to PC still restricts the settings. This isn't explained anywhere in the owners manual..wtf samsung.
Thank you SO MUCH for this info!
Absolute legend
Have found this out too after „2 months“.
But in my opinion the „HDMI1“ looks the best. Everything’s perfect balanced.
Hey Nick,
I’m looking to buy this mainly for the smart tv functionality, watching movies on d+ and nflx. Would they graying out be an issue for this?
Thanks for any help!
I use the tv for one year now, no issues, work perfectly, it's the most convenient smart monitor where it can pretty much do everything. Just use it per manufacturer instruction and you will have no issues

Finally ONE real review. truly useful and insightful.

dude huge respect to you , there is sale going in m7 monitor, you gave us a clear idea on all internal options. All the reviews i saw were very superficial !! this made my purchase decision more easier with less concerns... Thank youuu

Thank you so much for your informative review! Was planning to get one but with such issues of power off/dead screen, I guess I will just hold off and see how it goes.
Great 👍 honest review. Which LG did you get subsequently and how's the performance. Tks
Finally not sponsored review ,, thanks bro..
15:25 it's weird since this panel should be VA not ips
Great work! Thanks a lot.
Love the desktop wallpaper :-)
I know reading the manual isn't a popular thing to do, but it does say in there about not rapidly plugging / unplugging the USB-C cable as it can damage the monitor. Presumably this is because the USB-C port can provide 65W power to a laptop to charge it, and that must require some detection of what's at the other end of the cable. Could this have been the cause of your fault?
If I bought this monitor, then the first thing I would do is to test this to see if I could kill it. If I could then of course I would send it back and never touch the monitor again. I wouldn't pray that I'm not plugging it in too rapidly, that's just crazy and in my opinion a manufacturing fault.

@@PressureProPh are you giving away these monitors?
Bought this monitor at Best Buy here in Toronto, Canada area. Worked great for three days and then went to use it and the screen did not turn on. In a dark room you could see that screen was trying to turn on but was unsuccessful. My region was currently under lockdown so I couldn't return/exchange it, so I called Samsung to do a warranty repair. Shipped out the unit and waited about 9 days for it to return. Got it back, set it up and within 5 minutes the screen issue happened again. Once again, packed up the monitor and sent it back to Samsung warranty repair centre. It's been about 11 days and I'm still waiting for the monitor to come back. Really wanted to like this monitor as it has features I haven't seen before but this is really unacceptable. My best bet is when I get this monitor back and if it still doesn't work, taking it back to Best Buy and seeing if I can get a unit that was manufactured at later date to see if they fixed the issue on the assembly line. At this point I would say buyer's beware.
Have you heard back from Samsung's Warranty repair? I have one with the same issue.
@@LifetimeMomentsVideo they sent me a new monitor a couple weeks later and so far I’ve had no issues with it
@@jamalclarke543 When it died on you were you connected via the usb-c port or hdmi/dp?

cool review!
can it connect to windows 10 wirelessly? if can, is the quality of the screen as good as used usb c connection?
Thankyou for your review! Was seriously considering purchasing one of these from Samsung, but after watching your review, I'm in 2 minds now!!!!
bought it?
had the same experience. purchased the monitor last 1st of october. then october 21st, while i was just watching netflix, the monitor died. similar to the one you mentioned, there was haze and the monitor was trying to show the display. it is now scheduled for pick up by the authorized service center
Happened to me after a couple of years. Did you ever get an explanation why?
excellent review
I bought this monitor and it did the thing where it died after a few hours. I couldnt get it to do any display, i finally unplugged all my devices, and got it to come back on with smart hub, and then i went into settings and disabled HDMI anynet + stuff and moved my HDMI from one of my multiple HDMI ports on my PC to another and it came on, so i put it back in the original port again and it still worked.
I also re-enabled the anynet+ settings and everything to see if it would fail again.
This was the day i first used my monitor, and it has not done this ever since.
kind of weird. I thought I was goign to have to send it back but it has been 100% functional ever since. I wonder if there is some bug related to when its first used, or a few hours after its first FW upgrade.
Great review thank you
Thank you for your support Rea
I've had this monitor for a few weeks now with a Dell Aurora 12, it has had zero issues. No black hazing and the brightness is more than enough at 90%. The fact that your one died points to a bad apple in the batch maybe??
Hi Charlie. Want to buy this monitor for personal use. Can u guarantee that this haze is because of a bad item of a product and not the performance itself? This haze puts me off a lot, which is a shame as the monitor is amazing.
Thanks man. What monitor with VA panel do recommend?
Does it have PIP PBP Multi View switching between the USB C & HDMI (Wired) inputs? Esp on 43M70A?
Hello from Frankfurt in Germany. Thanks for your Test.
It's blurry in DeX mode because DeX does not scale up to 4K sadly. You can change the resolution from DeX settings but it's capped at 2k I believe. The only monitor that does the highest resolution with DeX is one of Samsung's Ultrawide models.
Is it nice for photo editing
Thank you.
I bought the M7 and am returning it. The picture quality is really bad for 4k, it's like having a 1080p monitor. The brightness is so low that it always looks dull, and the picture is far worse than my current 4k monitor (which was even cheaper!). I will never buy a hybrid again, it just ends up delivering low quality in each area. Want a monitor? Buy a monitor. Want a TV? Buy a TV.
What did you end up buying?
I can agree with you alot about that. I did the same thing. I bought it and the next day I went to the shop to return it. The design it was ok for me and the software too, but, there is a big BUT, the image quality was awful... just disappointing...
I know that this is a weird suggestion but flip it
Hello! If i connect a Samsung USB Type-C to 3.5mm headset jack in the M7 monitor will i be able to use it for headphones or Logitech Speakers with 3.5mm jack? Thank You
Good review!
I bought that last week. I'm so satisfied with that which is a dream monitor to me.
How is it hanging? Is your still hanging tough
How is you monitor doing?
I was planning to get it in Europe once it is released....now on the review...
Edit : wow did not expect such a conclusion, pity such an Epic Samsung failure had a lot of questions to ask....
I think it is a software issue but can it be fixed at home...
Great review
Thank you for your support Alex
Thanks, I was gonna buy it 😱😱😱
Interesting video, thanks. Am looking for a 32" monitor to use as an external display on a 2020 27" iMac and your video came up when I searched for the Samsung SAM-S70A32. Would be interesting to know if the S70A is more recent and if it addresses any of the issues of the M70A.
Samsung was taking pre-orders for this in the UK, but not any more.
I wonder if they're aware of early-batch defects and postponing pre-orders until fixed?
This seems like a product inspired by and built for 2020. I'd speculate that the production was rushed and has backfired. It's a shame because I have been looking for a suitable monitor/tv hybrid for a long time and this, on paper at least, is perfect for my needs. Fingers crossed the issues can be resolved.
@hightechcheck monitor does not have display port. I wonder how to hook this monitor to my laptop (no native usbc port) option 1) with dp cable + usb-c adapter or 2) usb-c to usb cable . Can you share your thoughts, what would work?
I have this monitor and runs great with no issues. Running split screen with HP 32 and laptop. Connection is HDMI. One thing I would like to point out is, BLACK SCREEN. You sure did dive down that rabbit hole. Let me explain. I have black back ground from Microsoft OP system on my laptop and it works great with none of the issues you talk about in this review. I would like to see you review the the replacement monitor under the same conditions to see if this is a Apple issue. Just my 2cents. I love this monitor the blacks on this monitor compared to others I have just amazing. Hope this helps. Great review.
Hi, Have you tried 4K@60Hz with usb-c?
Hi, can you tell me how you manage split screen with the M7 monitor?
Thanks
Joe Gillian I have not tried. After watching this video I think I will hold off.
Joe Gillian sorry for the confusion. M7 is not split. Just running 3 displays. 2-32 inch displays and 15 inch laptop display.

Which kind of usb c cable you used to get it to work with your iMac? I can’t get it to work with my 2020 M1 MBP
Thank you dear...you save my money.
Hi! I have a question! For whatever reason when I setup my M7 monitor the on screen menus are in portrait mode (rotated 90 degrees) and not in landscape. Is there a setting I can change to fix this issue?
Nice one by why are you using your phone's DeX? I thought the screen itself had DeX
I bought one and was delivered yesterday, unfortunately I did not like the video quality of it. Sending it back to samsung
Would this be a good option for video editing ? are the colors accurate enough ?
I wish I had seen this review before I bought this monitor. I experienced the same issue and none of the other "reviews " on RUclips mentioned this issue. Anyone considering this monitor should consider another monitor

from my prospective as ( monitor user want to replace with Samsung M7 ):
2:05 2 HDMI ports and USB-C which is amazing but, no DP which made me cry
2:40 the most hated on every Smart TVs/Monitors vs. regular PC Monitor ( the booting and setup time ) but we love the features after them :)
5:00 washed out is normal because of VA panel on Smart TV vs. OLED on smartphone :). no blame
5:36 the Expert sittings There is no color Temperature adjustment.. I hope in (RGB only mode) it activate adjustment. Otherwise I cannot called this M7 as monitor.
8:00 the USB-C mirroring is very nice and no lag, it has noticed latency. ( clearly in fast scrolling ) it is ok, I'm not playing CSGO.
10:15 built in speakers are not important ( shorting the Monitor life when they broke ) but it is a good feature.
12:40 IPS panel vs. VA Panel. the color range is high on IPS than VA as well as dark level. again, no blame
Price . that made my want to buy,
My wish, same smart monitor with IPS panel
Big shame about the lack of display port, bad call samsung.
I’ve had the M7 monitor for about a month now and it’s a 9/10 for me. I use it for work connected to my M1 MacBook Pro which works flawlessly. The colors aren’t as good as the MacBook but for the work I do it’s perfectly fine. I also noticed that the screen has a somewhat faded look in some areas because of the back light bleeding. But overall it’s working as it should.
Is it working in 60hz over usb-c for you? I can't get mine to work above 30hz but it may be the cable.
@@rmca11 yeah, my monitor came with a dedicated USBC cable and works with 60hz
@@rmca11 Hi it s working at 60hz for me too over usb-c from my smartphone or my PC.
@@JoeGillian0 figured out there's a setting called Clear View mode or something like that which you need to enable (disabled by default?!?!?) to enable 4k60hz usb-c
i@@rmca11 I am not aware of that setting, on my M7 it worked over usb-c immediately in default settings @ 4K@60Hz but as long as that you have solved your issue, everything is good then.
Hello! Is the exact model number 32M70A? Mine says S32AM700UE, so is it a different batch or something?
the same turn on issue happened to me, the only thing i did is reseting the monitor, just by keeping press the turn on button on the control and the monitor turn on again

Thank you for the review, so the quality would be much better on LG UltraFine 4K Display ?
I would say yes
@@HighTechCheck What model number of LG display ? I've got this Samsung monitor arriving today. I purchased an AOC 32" curved, that has pretty horrible picture quality, and was hoping to replace it with the Samsung. Thank goodness I purchased via Amazon Prime....so a return would be very easy.
Samsung's is cheaper
Had the same issue with mine. On its way back to Samsung...
thanks for this, now I know the color and brightness are way off as a monitor, most reviews of this don't review this as a monitor and most are paid reviews that's why it's biased and always discussed at a smart TV but not discussing how it is as a 4k monitor. Thanks mate!
Thank you for your support Fresh, I really had hope for this monitor and was pretty disappointed. I ordered the M8 for a review so we’ll see if they made any improvements.
I own a Philips monitor and have no problems with it so far despite daily intensive use. Long ago I had a CRT Philips monitor , the performance and the color rendering were still fine after ten years. Highly recommend that brand.
Hello, I got this monitor about a month ago and I love the monitor with one exception.. the audio doesn't always play from the monitor when I have this playing using the USB-C cable provided and also tried a thunderbolt cable with no luck... Does anyone else have this issue? or if you haven't had this issue, what is your wiring set up? I hope to hear back from someone. Update: My laptop eventually came out with a firmware update that resolved the audio issue when connected via USBC. Honestly, I love my monitor - I use it everyday. I love the versatility from working to relaxing.
should I buy one? do you suggest any simillar model around this price?
I'm super happy with this monitor. It didn't die on me. I also put things into perspective and look at what I am getting for the price so for example I won't compare it to a normal 4k monitor that at this price or above this price. The smart features are the big seller.
I have issues with this monitor, do you have instagram to show u ? Cause this is annoying when I’m watching Horror Movie and when comes to Dark Scene on movie or even games like The Screen is Off, u hardly see anything
@@khalidsaeed8205 you can enable shadows brightness in the settings ...for those very dark horror movies....but maybe we are not supposed to see anything.

Hi, I just bought a newer model of this (S32BM70), and the base will not tilt at all, although the instructions say it should. Any suggestions on how to get it unstuck?
Please explain me one thing, let say if monitor has one HDMI and One Display Port and Laptop A and Laptop B each has HDMI port, then can we connect these two laptops to monitor one to HDMI and one to Display port and then switch between two display by KVM Switch?

how high can it be - to check if I can get the Mac Air below...
I am going to buy this monitor but I totally hate when a normal television finds a way to control your cell phone (the client has no idea what it is doing in the background.) Large companies like Samsung get too much information for no reason.
Thanks for the video.
Just curious..., which LG monitor did you replace this one with?
Do you need wifi for wireless dex to work??

great comprehensive review. Only wish on side by side imac and M7 camera view, you went straight on or same angle with the imac as it looked washed out compared to imac from camera angle probably because it is a VA panel which generally looks better straight on. Great commentary, I'm gonna keep on looking.
It was definitely washed out when viewing from the side, it was best looked at dead center. I loved the features but the display was disappointing.

@@danrazART nah! His review doesnt change my opinion.
I love this monitor.
Does this work with the Apple HomePods / Mini via Airplay / 2 ?
Yes it has Bluetooth Audio out
I bought this monitor three months ago and it broke pretty quickly. Then I went through the whole sending it in getting it fixed and it still being broken process. Basically, after a long time of horrible customer service and them mailing my replacement unit to a different state and doing a week long investigation, they decided to send me another replacement, but they were out of stock. I took the refund. I'm a Samsung fanboy and their customer service really broke me. I would not recommend this monitor
Got this monitor, it works for me. There is just one bug though, occasionally it has problems detecting my macbook via usb-c cable, to fix this I have to unplug from power and power it back up, happens every week or so, obviously a software bug. Airplay, youtube, and prime work well. Not as bright, and colors are not as nice as my other monitor, but then again it costs half the price, so I guess its kind of expected.
How long have u been using it now? Did you ever face the problem he did and couldn't turn it on?
@@hossamsaffieddine3316 like 3 weeks or so. I use it daily, no problems with it so far. He probably got a faulty unit.
I am more worried about brightness and colors, i expected something better then if it is to be used as a smart tv :/
@@JoeGillian0 Yeah its definitely not as bright as my other monitor(LG), but that monitor is dumb and twice the price.

I think I will end up keeping my 10 year 1080p 27" monitor
What LG 32" 4K monitor has a similar feature to this Samsung m7?
How about split screen options ?
Are the problems still persisting? I want to buy one now
Honest review, but 2 hours and monitor go away, that's just back luck, I guess. I'm still considering buying it. Currently I have an ASUS IPS monitor and feels too bright to me. Let's see.
Thanks a ton, you saved me a ton of money and aggravation
I know it's an old post, but after seeing it, it actually saved me from an expensive mistake. I had been checking out reviews on the monitor, and there seems to be heaps of problems with it still to this day (April 2023), especially with their USB-C functionality. I had planned on getting the 43" model, decided against it, and your review confirmed my gut feeling about purchasing it. Thanks heaps.
I am also planning to buy this product, and I wanted to ask how the monitor is. Is it working well ? I watched lots of reviews, and it's confusing me . Is it really 4k ?
@@Adith_Aryayes the m7 IS 4k

Well I purchased a M7 Samsung 32” TV and on opening the box it was obvious it had been opened before and some contents missing like the OPERATION MANUAL, THE hdmi cable and the Ethernet cable..greatly disappointed in Amazon sending something out in such a condition. I could, of course, package it up and do a return but THATS A REAL PAIN, AND I NEED A TV. Fortunately I’ve unpacked many TVs in my life and was able to get it assembled and working, but looking for some recompense from Amazon for my troubles and the missing items.
I was thinking about the feature to play movies from USB/HDD directly on the monitor. Doesn't it have a USB 2? I wonder if that will be a problem while playing 4k mkv content from the drive
Usb 2.0 is fast enough to read 4k content but compatibility might me be an issue

any thoughts on samsung m7 vs dell U3219Q? in terms of picture quality
I would say that the quality seems to be comparable? From a casual glance, I don't think I'd be able to tell which is which if you hid the bezels.
For what it's worth, I generally turn the brightness down on all of the monitors I use because it seems to cause a lot more eyestrain. On the U3219Q, I have the brightness set to about 20 percent and the M7 brightness was set to 18 on a scale of 0 to 50.
I also set the warmth on the M7 to the warm1 setting while the Dell is set to ComfortView, which is their version of a warm screen.
@@jponscreen2461 thanks. The Samsung seems to have flicker free feature which the u3219 doesn't. Is that a noticeable difference ? I wonder if dell will release u3221 soon but can't find any info on when the next version will come
How is video and photo editing?
what is the 123 button for?
I had the exact same issue...but surprisingly it came back on after the cables came loose when the cable management strap popped out. The USB-C cable I haven't doesn't work either, so maybe it's faulty cables 🤷🏽♂️
Please, it still working?
To be honest I love this monitor due to the remote which makes it easier to control settings on the monitor, I hate using the buttons on monitors. You have to hire a navy code cracker to get into most settings. Resolution and brightness aren’t a big deal for me. As long as it’s at least HD and it’s bright enough for me to see clearly I’m cool with it. Versus having a monitor with a fire stick, you can’t adjust the volume, switch inputs, or get into the settings without physical interacting with it. So you lose some conveniences which I’d prefer to have
Hi great notes.... If I may ask, does is have ambient mode... As I see the button for it on the remote.. Thanks
This is a warranty issue (or at least it should have been). Any piece of technology can have defects from any number of sources that even the best QC in the world wouldn't be able to pick up. That's why there's such a thing as warranty in the first place. Your monitor dieing is relevant information for a review, but basing your conclusion on a single unit having a problem doesn't seem quite right for a review. IMO, a better way to conclude would be to involve customer service and get a replacement unit amd follow up a few months later.
Lol don't bother :) I would probably have done the same as you if my M7 had one single problem from the very beginning.
good review. dont care i am getting one!
Thank you Rodney, I hope you enjoy it.
