My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

You have that box that depresses the brake pedal when towing, maybe you could put it on the clutch pedal and rig up a switch to activate it long enough to start the engine.

My dad was a lifetime member of the jeep club of America. They have a jeep club of Florida for Brevard county. You could find their website and a phone number and those guys will tell you anything because they’re all marines who have done nothing ever but drive and fix jeeps! They’ll be more than happy to answer any question you got about jeeps❣️🙋🏼♀️🌴

You could just disable the clutch safety switch. The jeep will start without the clutch depressed just make sure it's in neutral!
How does one do that?
• find a (RARE now) old-school
electronics Parts store ( per
g00gle: Active Tech and B&E
look like my kinda candy shoppe 👅 )
• Auto mechanics won't help much
because they don't want the liability,
but the elec.techs probably will.
• Wire-in an ILLUMINATED LED
( not tungsten bulb ) DPDT toggle
switch in PARALLEL with the
Safety sw.
• When the sw. is in the OFF
position , it must be OPEN ( just
like the Safety Sw. is )
• When the sw. is in the ON
position , the LED will be LIT &
it will be jumpering / bypassing
the Safety Sw. ; The LED should
be RED or YELLOW and VERY
visible to WARN you that it is in
"BYPASS" . ( LED's don't draw
as
much as old tungsten bulbs , so
being LIT overnite shouldn't be a
problem.
• You may need to "draft" Mike into
wriggling under the dash for you😉

My daughter is spending time with her dad (who is in hospice care). I feel for her and her dad and his wife (they have been married for 23 years and I pray for a miracle - but also to have a special angel to show himself to her dad - to be with him as he transitions from a physical life to a wonderful spiritual life with the Lord. I love the time you take to spend with your daughter. God bless you Matthew. Love every moment hon. Memories do matter so much! Our two sons passed in 1999 - so my daughter has lost very special people in her life. And I love to think of my sons and talk about them. Some fun times for sure! They were 18 and 28. So they'd be 42 and 52. Oh my goodness! My daughter was the middle child. I love how you and your family enjoy each other - you make special times. Chicken flavored salt - now that's new! Never heard of it. I'll have to check online!!! :-) Those jeep things are neat. Wow. I love your "quality content"!!! LOL OH NO! Bless your heart. Poor Grace! My truck has 3 holes in it's windshield. Has everyone received their keytags? Has Sadie and Brooklyn opened their tags? I hope they both liked the colours I chose...I wasn't certain. It was great fun!
They have all been hand delivered at this point! We out Brooklyn’s on her little WolfPak bag. She knows it’s hers. She has taken it off to play with a few times. Thank you again!

Here in Michigan, we take rubber boots like the ones you donated and use them as flower pots for out side on the porch. I know that is not ideal for you but your mom might enjoy them . There is a sad element to kids growing up especial when they are at a fun age.

Sure am enjoying the videos and great music. Happy trails and safe travels to you! I was watching "Down2Mob" YT channel. They make a 3 layer peelable windshield protector thats just like the protector you put on your phone. You might think about investing in that technology with how your windshield rock problem has been lately. Go give Phil a like on the windshield protector system!
You could also, when you get cold, just poke both the clutch and the starter button? No need to clutch while idling :)

Hi Matthew, it was me that commented regarding your clutch throw out bearing. Didnt mean to scare you, but thought you might want to avoid the relative high cost of a very early replacement.
Generally speaking a safety protection feature like this will generally fail in the safe condition which in this case will be signal off. With a normally open switch as in the switch is "off", when you fully depress the clutch pedal, you close the switch and the signal goes "on". Your car's ECU is monitoring this channel when it is called upon to start the car. If signal on it will allow the engine start process to run.
To give yourself an over ride, acces the same channel/wire before and after the clutch pedal down switch and wire in a switch between both wires. When the added switch is in open/off position, the car will function as it did from factory. When you flip the switch to closed/on, it will bypass the clutch down switch making the ECU think the clutch is down. So run the wires to the rear of the car and mount the switch somewhere handy for when you're sleeping back there.

In my 07 jeep jk i can start it with the transmission in neutral and the transfer case in 4 low without pushing in the clutch...thats how i use my remote starter...i know yours is newer but might work for yours, not sure.

Don't they still have a Neutral slot on manual transmissions? Shouldn't be a problem putting on parking brake and tranny into Neutral, then can remote start it. Or will newer manuals not allow starting in Neutral?
I would still have to get the remote start installed - Grace does not have that and yes, of course there is a neutral position
