Keighly Socha it’s cause the broadway Union didn’t want to pay for the mass choir that’s needed for the show. Disney said they wouldn’t do the show without the choir, so yeah! Union problems.
It was too expensive to hire the large choir they would've needed for this entire show and the creators did not want to have a smaller choir because they felt it would compromise the music

Two things. First, I came for the perfection that is Hellfire. Secondly, wow I didn't expect such a handsome sweet face to have that magnificent voice. ♥
If you live in the Northwest Indiana Region or Chicagoland Area or even if you are able to travel you should come and visit Ross Music Theatre they give amazing productions every summer and all throughout the year. This theatre company is known far and wide for putting on huge spectacular musical productions that is sure to rival many Chicago or Broadway theatres. Theatre goers have traveled from out of state just to see these shows here. And the best part is that the tickets don't cost a lot at all yet you still get the same amount of quality and professionalism you see on Broadway. I've been fortunate to not only have seen shows here but have gotten to perform in a few shows myself. In fact their annual production of Scrooge the Musical will be coming up in November so if you are willing to travel please feel free to come.

Weirdly this seems like a version which is true to the original novel. Frollo is battling with himself and succumbing to his desires. Disney made the absolute villain in Judge Frollo but here we see a man suffering a downward spiral which is more tragic and closer to the original. Fantastic rendition!
Wow! I think they did take a page from the original novel because Frollo in the original novel was the arch deacon, NOT the Minister of justice! The fact that he's in sacred garb here makes me think they turned to the novel and I'm really glad they did!

After years of horrible renditions this is finally a version that deserves applause. How many singers in the past have made Frollo sound like a boygroup idiot? This singer whom I didn't know before watching this clip may not be a bass-baritone but at least he is a baritone and not a "squeezed" tenor.

I love how the choir sings along to "choose me or your pyre"; given the interpretation that the choir is angels/God/whatever judging him, it's almost as if they're telling him "either stop being despicable or you will burn for what you've done", and guess what happens.
If you live ANYWHERE near Northwest Indiana I HIGHLY suggest seeing the Ross Community Theatre each summer! They have some serious talent and tickets are 15 at the door, 10 if you order beforehand online. Broadway level talent and workmanship is evident throughout every aspect of the show, put together and performed by passionate community members. The actors don't even get paid to my knowledge! I've been to Broadway Chicago and I swear the only difference in the shows is that Chicago clearly has more money to spend on small things like props. These gentlemen in the video will be in The Little Mermaid this weekend and next weekend!

I just saw an incredible production of this show and I barely even noticed that it was physically less dramatic than the movie because the EMOTION that the actor has to put into this is so evident in his face and voice, it's such an experience

I often believe that every good hero in any story needs a great villain to fight against. I only hope that Disney is not afraid to make a great Villain compared to how awesome they made their Disney Villains during the 1990s from Ursula in Little Mermaid to Clayton in Tarzan. Out of many of these Disney villains from that period of animated classic films, Frollo was perhaps up there with the best villains in Disney's history. These days in Disney's films I feel that the animation studio has lost the ability to make a great villain because they are afraid of the backlash of what might happen if they offend the wrong kind of people, or perhaps Disney have gone downhill when they become WOKE as Hollywood has become now. But I do hope that there is someone there that is still got what it takes to take a classic story and make an awesome Disney Villain out of it, one that could be as complex as Frollo was. Like in the Lion King, they made Scar look allot like Hitler in the 90s version of Lion King. Can't see them doing that today because of how they are afraid of offending people now. But they need to have the balls to make a villain really scary and really off-putting because that is how awesome Disney villains of the past were like especially the ones that give you that creepy feeling down your spine.
Honestly, I feel that Clayton is a bit overrated as a villain. He’s mostly just a typical hunter/poacher villain, but his death scene is probably one of the most terrifying in Disney.
I saw an incredible rendition of Hellfire at my local theater, and I was breathless. Jacob Reinhart's voice is nearly identical to the one I saw, and I LOVE it. I'm not sure why they kept the set blue for most of it, though. Oh well. Nothing to be done about it.
Shalyce Sam Mutchie the blue stage represents the natural look inside the cathedral at night. The red stage and projected flames come in as the song builds represents what Frollo is feeling.

It's a big and dramatic song centered around lust and a difficulty with penance. The blue almost represents a presence of God and a heavenly aesthetic.
