I keep looking at The Warlord ( Koester looks like the DC comics character minus the armor) for any sign of weakness and there isn't one....he's a BEAST! and my hero. As a 54 year old father who lives in France and loves good food, but is a bit overweight, he's an inspiration. I can do this! I mean... a bit of this! Thank you.
I gotta say Kevin, I am currently 55, 56 in August, and you are truly an inspiration to me! Dedication and hard work will pay off! Glad I found you. Following on instagram.
I would love to know how old he is! I’m 38, and I’m one of the oldest members at the CrossFit gym I attend at. He has totally inspired me to not make excuses with my age. I haven’t been doing CrossFit very long but when I don’t do well, I use my age as an excuse but I won’t no more! Great job 🙌🏽
@@DanielBender He is in my age group (50-54), I finished in top 150 in 21.1. I am coming for you, Kevin! Give me a couple of years and we will meet at the Games. 😂
38 is still pretty much prime. I'm 56 now, still playing soccer and working out. You just need to modify some things as far as your workouts. Make sure you're not stressing your joints, etc. Also need to find reasons to continue pushing mentally. What's interesting is that as time goes on I have found it easier to stay fit smarter. My diet is terrible though...pre-teen kids so too much junk food around.
I want to 2nd Vanessa. I’m new to CrossFit and I let my mind tell me I can’t do some things because of my age. I need to remember that while some things are harder than they used to be due to age most is simply because I’ve let myself “feel” old and became lazy. This guy is amazing and proof that the older lions still have teeth! Congrats Kevin!
I'm only 26 and did the scaled because I don't have double unders consistently and did it in 14:20, with starting the crossfit life six months prior and losing 53lbs so far(currently 171). This guy is really motivating and I aspire to get better.
@@tfries72 Yeah man! He’s been a gymnast since he was a kid and won the Junior Olympics at 14 then became an Iron Worker after high school and has just lived a really healthy active lifestyle his whole life. He started doing CrossFit like 4 or 5 years ago.
I turn 40 this year and to see a man 15 years older than me conquer this gives me motivation and strength to continue on my lifetime fitness journey. If only a woman was by my side to take this journey with me😕. This guy is definitely future goals!!!!!!!!
I'm 47 and last year I did 1/2 Murphy scaled but completed the full mile run before and after. We have a 52 yo in the gym who did the entire thing and crushed everybody and we have some absolutely shredded guys in their 20's. He was about 5 minutes ahead of second place.
Stay the course and you shall be rewarded. Now I am a fatty trying to get back in shape (I was slim and muscular a couple of years ago...), but I am hopeful still. I remember seeing a guy at a gym I frequented who was in his sixties: Shredded and strong as hell. All hope is not lost...
Dude Killed it, but the standards for wall walks are “Both hands must remain on the tape until both feet are on the wall and no longer touching the ground” A lot of NO REPS unfortunately
This man is in phenomenal shape, certainly better than me. But you're right--one example is the rep at 12:02. I hope my judge catches all my no-reps tomorrow.
RIght. I think when those videos get submitted, you'll see many athletes who thought they had a solid score find out many of their moves were no repped. That's why it's important to have objective judges review the tape after the first attempt to see if it needs to be redone on Monday.
Its my first time, someone can tell me what age is group is he part of because i am 23 and i definitely dont even look half of that. He looks so strong!!!!
Killed it but didn't follow movement standards with hands on tape until both feet are off the ground and on the wall. That being said, I couldn't do this.
I did it, although I didn't finish, but I no rep'ed 3 times because of it which means you got to go back to the floor and restart. And that sucks if your feet are already up!
Second foot not on the wall before the hand breaks the front tape. Noah committed to a redo for not following the written standard, will these athletes?
@@brandonphilbrick3180 standards are : you can move your hands from the line only when both feet are on the wall... If you move a hand before feet on the wall should be a no rep... But I'm not judging anyone... I have only admiration for those brave people... Is just my respectful opinion...
Both feet have to be up on the wall be for your hands move. Not one foot on the wall and the other foot in the process of getting up onto the wall. I agree many people will have a much better score when they dont move to the standard that was put out...
I have 6, but just can't train enough or hard enough. DOMS puts me out if I go to hard, so I just shoot for consistency. This guy's genetics play a big role, and also is diet is probably on point.
Adcive: switch of the music - it is even more impressive. I decided to do physical exercises without „motivational“ music several months ago because my music equipment broke down. And I have to say - for me - this really was a good decision. I am no longer distracted by artificial motivation from the outside (sound) -now I have to motivate myself from my inner self and that seems to develop into a much stronger basis than music could do. Try it from time to time.
The second rep of the 3 was a NO REP. Hand left the line before both feet were off the floor. I'm sure it was a beast effort besides the standard issue.
This guy is a unit without doubt and inspirational , but it's a shame that a high percentage of reps he moved his hand before both feet were on wall......poor judge not telling him
Great work ,tip my hat to him for the amount of work needed to do the workout ... but Dam... he does not look natural..... physically he is a genetic freak of nature for his age and muscle definition and muscle mass...
