Loved all your videos. Hope you're doing well. I believe you were going to be a Magistrate in VA. Either way, all your videos are greatly informative.

Nobody wants that job, you stand post 12 hours a day for 6 days a week. Who the hell wants to do that? That’s a lot of time that money will never be able to buy ever, is not surprising they always understaffed. If the job was 3 days a week 12 hours shift with voluntary overtime it will make it 10000% better and they would be able to fill all the vacancies they need in a few months.

@@Hedgeflexlfz It depends, if this will be your first federal job I would recommend you to go for it, but don’t stay too long in this job as the work /life balance is horrible. Officers constantly are doing forced overtime and 60 hours weeks. Definitely have an exit plan to better agencies, HSI and ICE will be hiring between August and September of this year so keep a lookout on that.

@@Hedgeflexlfz I wish I could say good things about the Secret Service but they have a chronic problem that they just not seem to be able to resolve, the Special Agent side of SS isn’t much better either as your main job will be protection detail.
So you could be assigned to provide security to families members of the President and standing post in a hallway for 12 hours a day so it gets pretty boring, they also do financial investigations but is very limited so you’ll mostly spend your career standing post and doing protection detail. Now if you don’t mind that type of job you can make a career out it.
You still young so you still have plenty of time to move between agencies so I’ll said take the job offer, do 3-4 years on it and transfer to another agency. Even if you think you don’t qualify apply for HSI when the Special Agent hiring announcement for the general public opens on August you never know, HSI has hired college graduates without much working experience before.
Now not everything about the SS is bad, you could make a lot of money and you basically have unlimited OT, so you can make bank with them.

The secret service is one of the most secure jobs you can get but protection which is their primary mission sucks big time. The FBI until recently did minimum service, actually it might still be in effect.

I work as a GS-0083 DoD Navy police officer. My department has had numerous people quit within 2 years of graduating FLETC without reimbursing our agency.

It’s not a group of security guards. Do your research before speaking on this agencies mission. There are five operational branches. The White House (White House Patrol Unit), Naval Observatory, Foreign Missions (Patrol Operations; Crime Scene Search Unit; Motorcycle Support Unit; DUI/DWi Technicians), Special Operations (ERT, Counter Sniper, Tactical K-9, EOD K-9, Hazmat, Specialized Rifle Unit), Training (Instructors in the following disciplines: Firearms; Control Tactics; Special Operations/Tactical; Patrol Operations; K-9; D.C. Criminal Code; Mission In-service). Officers are engaged on a daily basis in enforcing the laws of the District of Columbia and U.S., Incident response, mitigation and resolution. Proactive Patrol operations occur on a daily basis while carrying out operational mission.

Could you make one on the Department of Defense Police, specifically from the Navy. They are the only DOD Police that go to FLETC and do the UPTP academy. It is the biggest 0083 Police agency in the nation.

I think they have their own academy. That means that if you leave postal inspection you will have to do the entire citp again.
