Hellp again Sherralin, this was a brilliant video. I could watch for hours and not get bored. I like that you show the ferry boarding and i doubt anyone would not enjoy seeing what goes on at the ferry terminal. This video caught my eye because many years ago i lived not too far from Burton upon Trent. Can't wait to see the 2nd part, thanks again 👍😊

Hi Sherallin, great video. The ivy you're asking about is actually Virginia Creeper. Goes a gorgeous red colour in Autumn. Talking about shifts, my hubby was a shift worker for all of his working life. So when we took our first camping trip to France, we drove through the night, and when we got to Rouen, we stopped at a caravan eaterie on the side of the road. It was around 1:00am, and we got sausage and chips. Tom ate is with no problem, me? Know way. I don't know why, but my body seems to shut down to eat anything. I was even thinking of changing my working hours to work nights so I could be on a diet with no problem🤣🤣🤣

Hi Sherralin, Mark, 141 scania type bloke, sad V8 addict. ( RETIRED NOW) SUPERB video. You give up and coming eu drivers so much helpful info, all nationalties. Back in my day it was seat of your pants and fingers crossed. I was lucky to have a load of experienced guys only too pleased to give you help guidance and encouragement. That was 40 years ago but, the point is...
Never wing it, ask, there's always help. It's surprising how many drivers are only too pleased to give you help. That's how they started out.
P.S. I'm a Scanny man ...who'd have guessed🤔 , but that Do me A Favour (yorkie bar) has a nice sounding Paccar unit under the bonnet. Least it sounds like an engine 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I drive this way at least once a year visiting relatives in Berlin but I never took the long way towards Hamburg. It's quite a bit shorter going towards Osnabrueck, Hanover, Magdeburg, Berlin and Frankfurt/Oder.
Yes, Germany has recently started border checks, those checks are sporadic on most crossings but slightly more often on border crossings to Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland in an attempt to stop illegal immigrants

I am a little surprised by your dislike of the Daf, are you just interested in which lorry has the most power? I always found the interior space and especially the bunk much superior to Scania. also the handling and general ride comfort. But of course if you are used to driving a more powerful vehicle then given one in a different power range . you may find it frustrating if you are mostly fixated on power.

The interior of the DAF is large but I find it not thought out properly. There’s very little storage (one cupboard which has the microwave (2nd one in a year) and two very small ones that have the spotlights in) for example, there’s no option for rear cupboards so everything is stored on the top bunk. There’s no 24v socket, the infotainment system is poor, not to mention the strange thing with the windows.
All three that my boss bought have had major issues with driveline problems too.
It’s not so much the power I miss but the stamina to keep it going up hill.

The old XF Daf is miles more comfortable than the Scania , in my experience and opinion it’s the lack of reliability with the Daf is the problem

DAF all day long, Scania are total Shite vehicle, you would only ever own one if you had any sence, We have DAFs done over 1.5 millon Engine / Box / Axle never touched, Scania would not do half that, Plus you cannot beat the bed and comfort of a DAF
Scania and Renault crap still use Trailer Suspension on the rear axle from the 70s lol there ride is much like a Standard Fordson Tractor , so would be very good if you area Carrot Cruncher ?.

@@GBtrucklady To be fair I have been retired a while so my comparisons might not apply to modern motors. I still think the XF was an all round better lorry than the bucking bronco Scania.

🤣😂🤣 On a ban ? 😂🤣😂🤣 Is that some sort of conspiracy theory? I keep changing vehicles because the boss says so! “Everything’s for sale at the right price”
