I did not realize how much I was being controlled manipulated conditioned unseen and unheard until I had my daughter. I am doing the inner child work I want to be free.

My mom made my life a living hell she didn’t talk she screamed I had to get away from it I’ve been no contact for 7/ months now I’m more closer to the most high I’m praying more I’m getting led to my purpose hallelujah

My mom is 74, talks down to me insults me and I can't do anything right. Dealing with her has caused me so much emotional pain. It's like she needs me to abuse to feel better. I feel bad she is getting older but it's clear I can't have a close relationship with her for my health and I'm becoming ok with that

Pay someone, healthcare workers, to take care of her, if needed. No reason to subject yourself to further abuse. That "family is everything" concept is trash made up by abusers to manipulate you into their continued subjugation [of you]. There's always a solution without sacrificing yourself. Take care! ❤

I really enjoyed listening to the reasonableness of your discussion. My mom has passed now, so I can’t really apply these techniques. For the most part I think I think I had a healthy boundaries-to-feelings-ratio with her, but I still felt some kind of way about the unhealthy nature of our mother/adult-daughter relationship. But, nevertheless, I’ve shared this video with a couple of my female friends who I know could benefit from hearing you speak. I do hope they end up subscribing to your channels. Good stuff 👍🏽 and thank you.

In my situation with my mother .. she is abusing me emotionally.. sometimes it’s a roller coaster dealing with her .. she doesn’t talk to she screams and yells and it creates a dysfunction in the house.. she will manipulate other family members against me and I feel like I don’t fit in .. am recovering from depression and anxiety and created a barrier between myself and her.. I learned to speak up and call out on anyone BS and it’s really happening so I get respect ✊ back

Great video! My mom never did RSVP, would brag about it. Would never shop from gift registries, try to make her gift look over the top then get bitter when the person would say they already had that product that's why it wasn't on the registry. No contact with my immediate family since July for my own happiness and health.

Exactly no time for hearing n my family does just stop talking to each other then bush it away , and only mostly hear how I’m not doing enough . Makes me not ever trust myself or my own thoughts

Lol 😆 yes!!! What my Granny did was on Mother’s Day she fake cry 😭 and caused a whole ordeal over gifts she got from me to take attention away from my Mom opening her gifts. Keep in mind Granny had already opened her gifts. Lord it’s like dealing with a child … I love the both, my Granny basically raised me. But over the past 3 + years I’ve seen the toxicity /narcissism clear as day.

    Dear Miss S Lark,
Although not necessarily everything you say applies to my relationship with my own mum, your video still means a lot to me. I thank you for its existence.
As a (male) survivor of ghastly physical & psychological abuse in childhood at my unfathomably & unbearably narcissistic mother’s hands, I can't resist the urge to point out that in today's world most people (at least in a typical modern & developed society) realise that it's simply moronic & incredibly naïve to presume that ALL policemen/women must be upright and law-abiding individuals, as there are now verified reports & documented cases of police officers abusing their legally endowed power for illegal or immoral ends. Then, why don't/can't people apply the same wisdom to parenting?
Just think of the shocking & horrendous Austrian case of incest that came to light in 2008 where an evil father Josef Fritzl imprisoned his own daughter Elisabeth in a cellar for years and compelled her to gratify the selfish desires of his body! I truly deserve to be called an idiot and a monster if I request Elisabeth to celebrate Father’s Day or if I rashly conclude that hers is only a rare and isolated case!
Is a person who dares to assume that parental maltreatment of children never (or rarely) occurred in all human history less insane than someone who proclaims that no firefighter has ever committed arson in all human history?

My mother doesn’t like that I have boundaries. I’m not allowed to be my own person. What mine is hers and I’m a selfish unreasonable person if I say no.

This relationship is a doom for siblings to ever have a relationship with their siblings as the mother grooms their grown ass children to report to her every day and manipulate them against each other so she gets the attention soooooo sick.

It’s weird because we talk and our relationship is okay but when I get upset or we talk for too long I’m reminded of why I use to hate myself and her for having me and mine she uses the Bible or deflecting , or just get over it , even things happened to me also or I was just soooo horrible like bitch nobody said that I’m telling you how your actions and choosing to keep me even though you don’t like me
