Signing right out of Jain wasn’t the best idea for his health however, his release had the hip hop worlds attention, so they decided to capitalize on it.     Behind his eccentricities were some genius lyrics. The Mariah Carey of 'Fantasy' is one of the best remixes, ever. I still feel he was battling some mental health issues, though, and he probably was numbing his pain via the drugs. May he continue to RIP.

    In all seriousness dude definitely had psychosis which was made worse by his stay in prison, where he was taunted and abused by guards. Stimulants make schizophrenia and other types of psychotic disorders worse and you can see how he degenerated mentally in interviews over the years due to cocaine use. He tried to get clean but fans wanted that "crazy ODB character" so he tried to live up to it. The entertainment industry is no place for addicts or the mentally ill. It's too demanding.

    I love his voice. I've always loved what ppl call "rough and rugged" sounding artists. ODB, Melvin Franklin, and Young Dolph all have wonderful sounds. Trippie Red, Tyler the Creator, and Method Man have great voices too. I just don't listen to their music as much. It's a shame ODB passed so early on. Really sad, especially for his children & family.
