The video was absolutely breathtaking. I loved the descent and the "tour" of NYC the pilot gave. Those engines were really humming. Now that's what flying is about.
That was cool. Especially while making the turn over what was once the place where the 1964 World's Fair was held. I was 15 at the time (in '64) and remember going to the fair. I also went to the other usual areas in Manhatten. I haven't gone to New York City in 46 years (1971) and would like to go again...long overdue.
Landed at LaGuardia from Dallas a few years ago. That had to be the best view of the city hands down. I had pretty much the same view coming in for the landing. What I noticed was a bit more turbulence as we got closer to the ground. Apparently that was from all the massive development and density surrounding the airport. The buildings actually affect the air flow and wind to the point that it rattles the plane.
That was wonderful videography. That you for this video uploader. Please never take it down. 😊🌞 The accompanying plane sounds are great: The acceleration before landing gear extension, Flaps extensions, Engine thrust adjustments, Final Touchdown, etc. There was no passenger noise to get in the way. Maybe, like me, they were simply enjoying watching this approach and landing. 🤗 P.S. That steep left turn around *Shea Stadium* (oops CitiField) is one of my favorite approaches. (Btw 7:27 Let's Go Mets!) I've watched it numerous times in flight -- sometimes while sitting on the wrong side of the plane 😭 -- and billions of times from the ground looking up, because I live in *Queens* (but also because I was born and raised in *Manhattan* where I lived on a high floor on *125th Street* , which literally faces straight west to *Runway 13* ). 🤗
Flying into the greatest city on Earth-- there is just nothing like it. So cute to see someone loving it flying in. The MOST American of cities--so diverse and real.
aww awesome video so lucky to have flown over the skyline was hunting for the 1 Tower very difficult to spot for a few seconds , had the Twins been there straight away , i really miss the World Trade Twin Towers :(
LA Fresh Life used the word I was thinking: gorgeous. One of my fav flight videos. Excellent camerawork. I've never been to New York so it's hard for me to know certain sites but I definitely spotted the US Open tennis site. Probably saw Met's stadium. Saw the tower that replaced the Twin Towers. I just can't view New York without thinking of 9/11. It's just a wound that won't heal...and I'm not even from New York. Also, no screaming kids heard in the video. Yay!
Great video, thanks for sharing, not only the video, but also the airline and where you flew from. I flew out of there once on United to Chicago, and continued to Anchorage, AK (I usually fly on Alaska Airlines).
Lived in NYC for 10 years and worked all those years at the WTC (1985-1995). Lost about two dozen co-workers during 911. I some times miss NYC, but loved here in the West. Thanks for uploading this video.
Fantastic view. Interesting to see NYC in context of surrounding landscape. Something you don't see at all. Just the same views of lower Manhattan mostly. Actually looked small.
Pretty great view of Manhattan island. I used to frequently fly in and out of La Guardia. Favorite landing approach was when runway 04 was active: would usually fly south on the NJ side of Hudson River, providing a spectacular view of the entire Manhattan skyline from GW Bridge to Battery, left turn to line up on runway 04 just south of Statue of Liberty with an equally spectacular view of the Battery and bridges leading downtown from Brooklyn. It was like getting a three-minute Circle Line tour from the air. I ALWAYS requested left-side window seats when I knew the wind was from the north at La Guardia.
I flew into JFK from Europe one day and it was amazing. I love New York. My wife and I have good memories, being there. I ask her where she wants to go and she says New York.
Don't. A stolen country. Full to the BRIM with fake people, fake lives and a new President in whom the whole country entrust the entire reputation of their day to day bullshit to act out their sad existence. There are FAR more interesting places to visit on this earth.
Prolinium for someone that's never been to nyc its actually a great experience, I'm sorry you had a bad time but don't try to discourage travel of different places
I love the Expressway Visual Approach, which is the one that you took. I took that approach when I came back from PBI in West Palm Beach, Florida. I was in N966AT, a retired Air Tran Boeing 717-2BD the fly's for Delta now, as DAL2358. I love those RB715's.
Love looking out the window from a plane, but watching the whole city from a plane makes me think of SimsCity and city skyline
The video was absolutely breathtaking. I loved the descent and the "tour" of NYC the pilot gave. Those engines were really humming. Now that's what flying is about.
The over simplified and under appreciated gift of flight is the real superstar in this video.
I recall my first flight over NYC. Amazingly breathtaking.

NYC is an amazing place......For me to poop on!
From the skies but go in NYC with a tractor trailer that place is horrible lots of tolls and parkways
@@howienyb4331 Fortunately not many families travel by tractor trailer.

aww awesome video so lucky to have flown over the skyline was hunting for the 1 Tower very difficult to spot for a few seconds , had the Twins been there straight away , i really miss the World Trade Twin Towers :(
So did i, the new tower is hard to spot, it will never be iconic as the Twin Towers were...
That is spectacular!! I've never seen a view like that. Excellent clip, thanks for providing it.
Spectacular. Wonderful that you were able to capture this.
Crazy approach! Who would've thought the plane would take the scenic rout over the City and do a figure eight?
Thank you for such a common capture. But needs to be seen . Great !!!!- passage view.

If you think NYC is huge, take a look at São Paulo city in Brazil, the biggest in the Americas:

Great video Thanks much. I felt I was on the plane. Got scared when landing. Nice work.
Very rare. About 30 years ago we flew at night on a similar route. Beautiful. Lucky.
3:05 I really miss two things.
Yeah, testicular cancer really does a number on you.
@@funcuzchris4466 He meant two huge Towers.

Nothing like viewing NYC from altitude. Looks like that was the "Expressway Visual" for KLGA Rwy 31 approach. Flown beautifully! Real nice video!

This video inspired me to go to New York
Do it! Stay in lower Manhattan if you can. It's an experience you won't forget (good experience).

One of the best. Bad ass pilot with the approach.
very cool great shots!
That is a real USS Laguardia landing! What a ride! Too bad you were stuck over the wing!
It's a heaven. Real heaven. Wow. Great.
Amazing that so many tourists come to NYC and pay to get to the top of buildings but tha plane ride they came in on offers the best views.
Awesome!!!!
Wow an airplane this big doing that tight base and final like a Cessna 172 he did some high bank angle turns hehe beautiful.
OHHH THAT SOUND!
Awesome job👍
This is quality content!
Awesome!
Wow amazing view. Back on September 11 2001 passenger's would have had a similar view under very different circumstances.
very nice view of the city!!!

Tremendous Flight..¡
I like this approach to LGA in aviation terms. the constant adjustment of airspeed and altitude and finally the last bank to the left.
