This is amazing. At first I thought you had cameras for the interview in the case as well. Kind of defeats the point but still will be super light if you do a second case strictly for the cameras and a video switcher of some sort
I had to pause and rewind because for a second, I thought you built the coolest hotwire cutter for this random task you had and then nonchalantly squeezed that quickly into the video lol
Solid idea. I’ve been making do with a zoom H6 and lav mics for on the road recording. Your idea, not only gives you much better audio quality but looks really good too, and that’s half the battle sometimes (knowing is the other half of course)
This would also be great for someone who has clients who want to record a podcast, but don't have any of the equipment - i.e. me! More importantly, where can find this amazing podcast you teased at the beginning??
That was sooooo cool! Do you think dynamic mics would have been better so you wouldn’t capture as much ambient noise? And perhaps small in ear monitors would save a lot of space compared to over ear headphones. Again, so fun to watch. Your production quality on your vids are inspiring. Cheers, gents!
Thanks Tuan - we're stoked you liked it. A Dynamic mic could help for sure - what we ended up doing though is adding some Rycote foamies to help with plosives and wind noise. In-ear monitors could be a good call too but with changing users, the over ears are probably a bit more sanitary without constant cleaning :D For a more compact solution though - could be a great option!
This is pretty cool! To save on some weight (as im sure this is nowhere near under the 7kgs domestic limit) you could try using something like the dinkum systems arms. much ligher and more flexible than the impact arms. Also, make sure the battery pack is really easy to access as security are going to want to check it every time... Id love to see the look on av sec's face when they open this up at checkin....
You're right - it ended up being about 10kg so would probably need to be checked-in with the battery pack in carry on :) Looking forward to taking it through 😅
@@SyrpLab 10kgs isnt bad! Nice! Just make it look light walking on the plane and youll be fine! (I wont tell you what my carryout camera bag weights haha)
Love the idea. Confused about the camera, is it to capture the area you’re in? It’s too close to capture both people talking. Maybe two gopros mounted facing each presenter would have been a better route. Or something also like that.
Hey Christopher! Camera is only for when we have a remote interview with one host so we can sit directly in front of the case :) Would need some additional cameras like you mentioned if doing regular 2 person interviews

How the hell has this Video only 5k Views?! The Quality is so good and the work you put in the Video is amazing! :o Keep it up guys
Glad you enjoyed it Domenik! :D
As someone who does podcast episodes remotely (restaurants, bars, etc.) this is AMAZING. I would love a build like this!
So stoked you think so! Drop your podcast link so we can take a listen :D
Same! Do y'all sell this as a kit?

Interesting mini design project. Thanks.
How does the camera record you? Or is it to be removed from the case
I need this asap I do alot of mobile podcast/interviews dope setup

Would love a video on the foam cutter build, haha. So useful for so many things.
What an awesome idea and amazing execution! Not to mention the quality of the video making it! Ka pai.

Stoked you think so! That sounds like a pretty solid setup - some cardioid condensers are definitely an upgrade but a touch bigger to carry around 😅
Awesome.
Have been planning on doing a similar build for on the go recording, gave me some good ideas.
Glad you found it useful!
looks so sweet lads! well done.
Thanks Bong! Glad ya like it :D
Love you guys! Great work
Thanks Giannis!
I never comment but I just wanted to congratulate you guys! This is awesome! I’ll be building my own soon following your set up! 💪🏽❤️😊
Thanks Erik! Looking forward to hearing how yours turns out :D
Awesome work guys!
Greetings from Uruguay!

Very cool guys!
Thanks so much!
Now that's one of the best videos I've watched this year. I wish I could buy one too 😂
Thanks Elvis! While we can’t sell ya one unfortunately; we’ve got a comprehensive PDF on the blog with a full buy list for you 😄
this is so cool
Awesome idea! Would love to see a finished podcast out of the box 😅
Where can we see one?
We haven’t made one yet but if you want to catch the rest of the Media Offline series we record with the same kit, there’s a playlist on our channel 😄
Love this idea! Any examples of it being used on your channel?

@@SyrpLab true, makes sense!
Would’ve been cool with a 360 cam and then you could maybe grab angles for both guys

You should do this with the rodecaster duo and see how small and compact you could do it
What's the purpose of the camera inside the box pointing at the audience?
Where the camera angle from the box?
Would you just move the arms away from the lid to set it up as an interview camera?
Yeah exactly :)
@@SyrpLab sick build, always love a good kit/case to streamline gear!
Where can I get a guide to buy those thing to do mine?
Hey! The guide is linked here on our blog syrplab.com/global/education/podcast-studio-in-a-box/
But like... Canon r7 and dual wireless go mics?

A bit confused with the camera position and not being able to see it in practice... Guess shooting into a giant mirror would be optimal lol
I only miss the 3D printer :)
How much does this cost?
Hey! We're not selling them but we're giving away free plans so you can build your own. Link in description of the video :)
Where do I purchase
Haha we don’t sell the PodBox but you can always download the plans for free and build one :)

I came to try and buy this. I thought it was a product 😂
