I think you did a pretty good job on this review! If you still haven't played The Messenger yet (Sabotage's other game), definitely do that. It's one of the easiest games I can recommend to other people and I've gotten probably half a dozen to play it. One of my favorite aspects of Sea of Stars is how Sabotage expanded the world and events from that game, and also how their gameplay and writing philosophies changed from that game to this one.
[SPOILERS] One of my biggest problems with this game is towards the end how Re'shan just kind of disappears? We never get an update on what his conclusions were or what he was doing at the end of the true ending, but he still stayed in the party kind of so there was no point to that arc. I'm hoping the studio makes DLC that expands on this specific part of the game because it by far felt like the most off aspect of the game that wasn't explained.

I feel like a lot of the lore, like where Brugraves and the Dweller of Strife went, is actually pretty well explained in the dev's past game - The Messenger! I'm not going to spoil it, but if you're curious about a few of the unresolved plot threads and want a fun, Ninja Gaiden-esque platformer, I highly recommend checking it out.

Can u explain it here, I would like to know and I don’t think the game is popular to the point where I can get that info anywhere

@@RetroVideoGamer23 Actually, the game is pretty popular, and the Messenger wikia has a lot of information about it. However, I would recommend you play the game for yourself, if possible. If you've played Sea of Stars you'll absolutely understand the connections when they appear.

Personally loved this game. It doesn't do everything, but what it does, it does right. Traversal, combat, puzzles, visuals, music, spectacle, emotional moments, humor, all extremely on point. Character progression and customization is a bit lacking, sure, but that's not really what I was looking for out of this title. Sabotage decided what they wanted to focus on, and they did a great job. Will it be for everyone? No. Will every SNES era RPG fan love it? I think so! Good review! Cheers

I'm not even a big fan of turn based so yeah I don't care about that stuff. The story is sooo good though.
Can't agree with this guys take on the story though. Bro says chrono trig story is better but like... The main character doesn't even speak words lol. To act like zale and valere are bland without thinking that about crono wayyy more so is very very silly gimme a break lol. And no event made me cry like when we lost good ol Garl.

Great Review!! I love this game and getting ready to go in to fight the final boss or is it the final boss 🤔😄 I definitely need to play the post gameplay to get the game 100% and experience the true ending. Reminds me of my all time favorite, "Chrono Trigger."

I loved it. As a big JRPG fan this is a can’t miss. A great combo of super Mario rpg and CHRONO trigger.

For a first JRPG from Sabotage it really is incredibly fun and I think my criticism of all the missing conclusions is really what shows that I really enjoyed it, to care that much.

The story felt rushed at the end, I wanted more and yes the character depth was lacking, also the conch mission was too much to complete

100% in this game felt so rewarding to me!
Seemed like every time I thought, "That's it, Finally got everything" another thing appears...
Oh the story, yea it's okay I guess... Was so glad Carl died, and yes I called him Carl with a G. Simply out of disrespect, I mean come on who blocks with their face. He was a idiot...
Sea of stars progression felt perfect to me... 9/10.
