I just now realized that most of these recipes are soups/stews/chilis...oops! What can I say, it's a good way to use stuff up! Also, funniest thing in this video: my husband walking into the frame, and then slowly trying to back out...LOL!
I love soups ad stews! Everything looks delicious.
Men❗😄😄😄.gotta ❤.him👍😊
Literally this cracked me up so much!
Thank.u❤🤗
I prefer stews!
Your husband backing out of the video was great
I saw your comment before I saw it happen lol hilarious
My mum was born in the war and her mum would buy her shopping one day extra ie:Monday one week then buy on a Tuesday the next and so on so every seven weeks she saved a weeks money on food. I do this and it actually saves us lots 😀
My husband gets mad at me, because my best "recipes" (most particularly soup) can never be replicated. I just throw as I go!!! It's kinda hard to go wrong, but impossible to do exactly the same again.
So true!
That is funny-my meatloaf never taste the same, so I call it mystery meatloaf because I just throw stuff in and different amounts, so it is never the same.
I love doing this. Whenever I need just a couple things, I just send my husband with a list. He always comes home with exactly what I asked for and nothing more lol
Brianna, that’s so funny because in this household, my husband is not allowed to go to the store because he’s the worst impulse grocery shopper ever! 🤣
@@SeeMindyMom 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's so funny 💜💜💜
@SeeMindyMom mine too. Some times he doesn't even get what is on the list. We joke that if he goes to the store he brings home creamer and coffee which was probably on the list and then oreos and cold sugary cereal which probably wasnt
Lol at 12:50 when your husband walked in and then backed out when he saw you filming. Everything looks delicious. We have been doing a lot of soups lately. Tis the season.
Ha.. he was like "I don't want any part of this" lol!
Yeah, I laughed too! 🤣
He is like oh shoot she's filming darn it I just wanted to grab a snack real quick. Lol funny part..he probably just respects her when she's filming though and was like reverse. I love all these easy made videos and ideas. Thank you for these videos.💜
Whole Foods sells the Parmesan rinds in their deli department. Buy a couple of packages, store in the freezer. No need to thaw before placing in your soup pot.
Good to know! Thanks, Judy!
I laughed when your husband realized you were filming 😄.
I dislike waste too. The phrase "Being good Stewards" is such a great way to put it! 👌
Thank you for your budget meal posts and positive vibes!! We moved the end of Oct, then all the holiday expenses, so I'm on a very tight budget Jan/Feb. Seeing others working at saving money in the kitchen makes me feel better about the tight budget, because it's smart thing to do, whether one needs to or not. xoxo's
So true, Sherilyn! Tomorrow will actually be my first “big”ish grocery haul in 4 weeks! Even with that, our January grocery bill is way under budget because I delayed shopping!
I have found myself getting motivated and creative again in the kitchen by watching your clips. Thank you so much! 🥘
You deserve many more subscribers! Love your Chanel and you inspired me to use the staff I have at home ❤️
Made the Blueberry Buckle this morning and sent some with hubby to work. All love it!! Thanks for sharing!
Ive never made a blueberry buckle but I have made a blackberry buckle that is so delicious. I'll have to try the blueberry one when my bushes get ripe.
I always look forward to your pantry cooking videos!! We’ve been trying to eat through our deep freezer and this gave me some encouragement to keep going!
One of the best dinner/use what you have/family friendly videos I’ve ever seen. I’m about to add every single meal to my meal plan for the next couple weeks. Thank you Mindy!
Ditto
I love soup and stews and pasta dishes ! Looks fabulous and a great inspiration to get creative ! Thanks for sharing !
Love the whipped cream cheese tip on the grilled cheese! Definitely want to try that :)
We do pantry challenges a few times per year too! It's a great way to save some money and use up what we have.
I like the variety of soups you made from your pantry staples. You’ve given me some ideas for meals to try in the future. 😃
I buy mozzarella blocks when on sale and through them in my freezer. They last a long time.
I made the blueberry buckle this morning so we can have for dessert tonight! It smells amazing!! I also have the soup on now! I used some ground beef I had cooked from the other night and used rice since I didn't have orzo. But it smells wonderful! I also made some crockpot bread to go along with our soup which my kids have already got into. It's one of their faves.
I never take a grocery cart on pop in visits for necessities. Grocery pickup has saved us money.
I have that same sad zucchini in my fridge 😂😂
If you still have it on hand I saw Miranda from Running On Plants make a really great zucchini chocolate oat bread/loaf over the holiday season, it looked so yummy and she said the inside was brownie-like so that really made me want to make it! You could check out her channel and use it for that. :)
Oh love blueberry buckle! most younger people haven’t heard if it. My great grandfather who was a cook on the railroad before air travel always made blue berry buckle for us, from blueberries we picked! It’s still what I made to give to families and neighbors. King Arthur has a great recipe too. How fun to see blueberry buckle recipe being made and enjoyed!!
This was a wonderful addition to my tight food budget!! These 🍲 and grilled 🧀 🥪 are perfect, I live alone but have an insta pot my son gifted me and an adorable mini crockpot that I can throw 🐔 🧀 🥕 and 🌽 🥦 together to make my work lunches & dinners, which will stop me from running to grab a burger or wasting my leftovers that get shoved aside & forgotten about, it will help me practice patience and mindfulness of what I eat and satisfy my cravings for something delish. rich and filling after work! ❤️
Ps - seeing your family enjoy food and hanging out in kitchen reminds me of my now grown son showing his family how great meals start with something simple!
Hollleyyyyyyy molly you need to be on the food network, those looked GOOD!! Please deliver to Michigan !
Great video. Everything looked delicious. It still amazes me of the dinner ideas you come up with using random ideas. So funny when you husband backed away slowly when he realized you were filming😂
Haha! It’s just part of living with a youtuber!
Thankyou Mindy for sharing you have got me thinking that I can do this too.I like the recipes. Nancy
The bread came out perfect 💯
Love these videos! Keep 'em coming! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! Will do!
Good morning Mindy! Everything looked delicious. I can't wait to get the Blueberry Buckle stored up and in the oven.
That garlic pull apart bread was a great idea as well. Thank you for putting these videos out.
My kids were so sad when that blueberry buckle was gone. They kept asking me to make another one, but I didn't have more blueberries!
@@SeeMindyMom I'm sure it would work with other fruits too, could be nice with strawberries, blackberries, even peaches/nectariines etc, I'd experiment when it looked that good! :)
Hi Mindy, love these kinds of videos! Everything looked very 😋 tasty.
Thanks so much! 😊
I've been writing down a lot of you're recipes. Will be doin them. I love you're Channel! Keep the videos coming! I'm new to you're Chanel & enjoy all the recipes! Thanks for the ideas!
I’ve just started watching and I wish I would have written down more recipes! 👍
I have been making blueberry buckle for years. Great quick breakfast, coffee break or just a quick snack for the kids.
It was fantastic! It’s definitely going to be a frequent flyer in our kitchen!
Love this! Already thinking about the random half bags of stuff I need to use up! Always looking for reason to use my Instpost!
I get those random half bags in my pantry, too! It's such a great feeling to use them up and tidy up the pantry!
Blueberry Buckle is awesome! Been making it for years!
It's a new favorite in our house. The children have already been asking me when I'm making it again! LOL!
We have sausage, green beans and potatoes on the menu this week! Great video, Mindy!
Thanks, Holly!
Great recipes, growing up my family called it Goulash. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
These recipes look so delicious!
Thanks, Cathy!
I find it interesting that you do not purchase broth anymore, great idea. I always open a can or carton and have the leftover broth sit in the fridge. I may buy the base from now on too! Thanks
I would love to know your process on how you choose your meals once you have figured out what you have! Also with your budget videos I am in complete awe of how you plan that!!
Bethany, I don't always have a plan with the "use-it-up" mindset. I usually just go meal to meal, figuring out what to make. The budget meal videos, though...those take a lot of time and planning to execute! :)
The macaroni dish you made, we call it funeral hotdish in Minnesota 😆
Everything looks delicious. Love your channel!
Oh, I have never heard that name, Alicia!
Also, the accent is on the "o" in elote. It's el-OH-te. Elote is one of my favorite foods :)
Thanks! I meant to look that up.
@L W I spent a year and a half in the Houston area and we had the same thing!
What's Elote
Google here I come
@L W ugh I'm jealous. Elote is delicious!
Made the chili mac for dinner like you did yours in video and it was a huge hit! We had it with streamed broccoli too. So good! And I'm not sure if I told you but the blueberry buckle was incredible! I did NOT share😂
Great ideas ! Thanks 😀
Made the blueberry buckle tonight with some blueberries I picked and froze during summer, and it is so good!!
Wasn't it fantastic?!? Definitely something that will be on repeat around here! Especially when berry season arrives in the summer.
Blueberry Buckle is the BOMB!!!!
Nobody in my tribe likes a watery soup so that chickem orzo soup looked Fabulous.
I love the Bundt idea. I'm also delighted that you train your kids to pack their own lunches. CA is still in lockdown, no going out much for sports here. How would you describe the Elote flavor?
Hi, Jen! Yep, our kids mostly pack their own lunches and make their own breakfast. I liked the elote seasoning, it has kind of cheesy flavor.
YT just showed me this video after started watching your channel about a year ago (summer 2022).
You’ve got some great ideas in this video. Orzo is one of my top pastas so I’m excited to try some of these recipes.
Love your videos! Hello from Mississippi
I think I’m going to skip the grocery store next week and might have to text you to help me meal plan with what I have😂❤️ all of the soups look so good and now I’m craving a grilled cheese lol!
You got it! ♥️
Wow I love how you put the butter on the griddle for your grilled cheese! I never thought of that. I have some captain crunch and ground beef to use up. I wonder what I could make with that. 😁
Hahaha! Pretty sure captain crunch meat loaf is not a great idea!!!
Loving the colour of your enamel pot , it’s beautiful. I just bought a Le Cruset crepe pan with a deep blue enamel for $30 on FB marketplace , I am very happy .
Karin, my sister gave that to me because she never used it! I was happy to have it as I would probably not have purchased one for myself, and it’s getting more use on my stove than tucked away in her cabinet!
That elbow pasta dish is called American Chop Suey in New England. My hubby (from Long Island) had no idea what it was when I called it that. Lol so interesting how language varies so much from region to region. Love your videos!!!
Great video. I need to do this just realized I had 6 boxes of spaghetti because of shopping last year during covid lock down. White clam sauce is what's for dinner. Same here at the grocery store I get sucked in at things on sale even if I don't need it
Pasta is definitely something that builds up in my pantry! I'm glad it's non-perishable, but I do have to make an effort to use up all the partially used boxes occasionally!
Good morning Mindy!
Good morning!
Goulash#1....Macaroni, ground meat, onion, mushrooms, cream soup
#2....macaroni, onion, peppers, diced tomatoes
Eastern European from Midwest.
Wow i am saving all of your ideas 🙏
Hope you like them, Romy!
Elote means corn in Spanish. There is a street corner food that Mexicans make with corn on the cob with mayo, parmesan, and a bunch of seasonings. Delish!
Oh yes, I am familiar with street corn, and it is DELIGHTFUL! :)
When u made the ghoolash you said you can add salt but you can't take it out. However, my mom taught me to cook when I was about 9, because we were. A farming family by thtime I was 11 or 12 I made breakfast lynch and dinner during the summer & supper during school time. I'm Edging near 50 now. But my mom taught me if u add too much salt peel a potato and. Either dice it and add it or if it would make you dish weird tasting add it whole & fish it out with a slotted spoon before serving. It works.
Delicious
I don't think the rolls were burned. I think they turned out just fine, and I am going to try the recipe myself. Thanks for the vid!
Elote is corn cob in Spanish and pronounced e-low-tay. Fun fact for ya! :)
I call goulash, Chop Suey lol. I’m from Maine. I love and look forward to your videos :).
Apparently it’s a Chinese Dish 🤣🤣, but that’s what my family always called it.
Useful info plus good easy English for Russian speaking, 👏👏👏👏
Your husband seeing you record and then backing out 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can I substitute the orzo with Farro? I got some for free from Safeway they were doing a freebie on the app. Figured using it in a soup would be a good way to use it up
I use a touch of Mayo on the exterior of the grilled cheese. It makes it so crispy and crunchy…also fattening. LOL
Love these ideas. I might’ve missed it- but what is the name of that last soup? I tried to find the link in the description and couldn’t . Thanks in advance!
We called it Cowboy's Delight growing up! Now I just call it goulash, since people actually know what that means.
haha! I hadn't heard that name for it! We do have something called "cowboy stew", though, that my mother made!
I wrote all of these recipes down, thank you!!
Looks so good!! Thanks for sharing, friend. Let's stay connected.
I looked into the imperfect foods box, was broken-hearted they don’t deliver in my area .. maybe soon tho 😊
Oh man! I hope they come to your area soon!
I need to do better about using up what we have first and get creative. Would love not to go to the grocery store one week (other than 5 items like you!). Great job!! Everything looks delicious!! Thanks for sharing.
That last soup looks good. Question. Did you thaw the hash browns? Most casserole recipes say to thaw them. Wonder if it’s true for soup? Thx!
Nope, I did not! Just dumped them in there frozen!
You can get that meat chopping tool at the Dollar Tree to
Albertson's also has that meat chopper
What was the first soup called? The Sausage and Orzo one?
How much for that last soup that looked amazing meaning how much of each ingredients and where can I find that seasoning
the seasoning is from Trader Joe’s!!
Ok I don't have one of those near me
@@aereyona I don't have 1 near me
Shelley, I didn’t really measure things, I just tossed in the ingredients I showed.
@@SeeMindyMom ok i really want to try it it looked amazing
Elote is pronounced ee-low-tay 🙂❤
I'm kind of sad I didn't get to see the 'after' pics of your pantry/freezer, but I'm imagining the fridge was just about empty?
They’re at the very end, Sherilyn!
@@SeeMindyMom Oh jeez, my bad!!! I received your reply (thank you, so sweet how you take the time to do that!!!) and re-watched the post. Now I have empty freezer/fridge goals, which is kind of strange but good in my case because I over-shop/spend on groceries far too much, even when I have tons of food. I do work at not wasting any food, but why run out and buy stuff when in reality, we could eat very well for 10+ days w/o buying anything -- I run out of cream and end up buying $100 of stuff that could wait.
@@sherilynalexnder897 I do the very same thing!
You just droped the hashbrown in thé crockpot with everything else ?
Yep!
I have a question are you not doing WW anymore?
Nope. But I still feel like I use a lot of the habits and nutrition I learned there. Lots of veggies, portion sizes, balance, etc.
Pronounced E- low- tay
Adulting = making up dinner ideas for the rest of your life .......
Karin, truer words were never spoken!!!
I like the ideas but she so talky
My thoughts too I'm worn out after a couple lol
