I got this game on a whim because it “kinda looked like Slime Rancher” Oh boy, did I get more than that, what a fantastic game. Even now I still keep thinking about it too, and the menu theme already feels super nostalgic. I wish it wasn’t so underrated. I genuinely feel people would learn something from the story.

I love the track "You're The Journalist!". It's so weird and zany, capturing both a sense of comfiness and of unease. It really fits the characters in this game, their odd personalities and quirks, the underlying sadness they have, and the unnerving idea of their limbs having turned into snax. The weirdness of the scene just hits you all of a sudden, it's such a fun vibe.
In 5 years or so, the music in this game will hit right in the feels. Music was made to feel nostalgic and the type of music where you would miss listening to it. Beautiful aura of a game.
This is the weirdest musing that has no real bearing on the music, but seeing all the villagers together mostly untainted by bugsnax has made me realize that rather than being a solid color, all grumpus have a soft color gradient, lighter at the head and darker at the feet. It's more noticeable on Beffica and Chandlo but they all have it. Anyways this OST is great and I love how progressively harder it goes.
Even after I realized they had gradients, I got really shocked when I took a look at the models isolated. I thought that maybe they were a bit less intense for some, but I was wrong: The gradients on _everyone_ are much more intense than they look under the game's regular lighting conditions. Filbo's legs alone go very deep azure. Gramble's in particular just happen to stand out a lot more in-game! (I too, thought he was wearing pants at some point) O.O

I've been trying to look that up online, but it currently seems like: 1) Most ppl use the first save slot, so the majority of LP's and videos have the orange fur, 2) The player shadow has a head, but there are like, no mirrors on the island to check that in, 3) Nobody else has extracted that separately yet!
He does his best and tries to keep everyone calm as the mayor but everyone bashes him for his poor leadership and skills but he's doing what he can to keep everyone together and that's what I like about him. He's trying his hardest to keep people calm and collected and to not fall apart when something bad happens. if people were supporting him then he could 100% be a better mayor! He's not that collected because he's not getting support so he does not believe in himself that well.
This is a trippy ass soundtrack. Like this is the type of weird experimental music I'd listen to in general. Bugsnax was definitely a nice surprise on all counts

I love how they’ll just run around and shove other grumps out of the way to dance in front of someone else, especially how Chandlo goes behind everyone else to dance in front of Snorpy while Floofty takes a less ridiculous path like a normal human being- or rather grumpus being.
After 100% completion of Bugsnax, I'm feeling things I never thought I'd feel when I started playing. The visuals and the general whimsy made it hit even harder when I got to the end. Thinking back on how it developed without me really noticing until it all came at once almost made me cry, for real. I cannot wait for Bugsnax 2! Edit (July 2021): I have just finished my second playthrough and omg it doesn't get any easier! Having played it again, my thoughts on a Bugsnax 2 are different because these characters' stories are over and it's these characters that make Bugsnax what it is. Would Bugsnax 2 really feel like Bugsnax with a new cast of characters? Maybe I'll have more thoughts after playthrough number three. Edit 2 (Jan 2022): I did a third playthrough around the time the DLC was announced and, while I hadn't dared hope for DLC, it was exactly what I wanted. In all my snak-filled dreams, I wanted a new area to be discovered with the original characters exploring them! With the custom hut and hats coming too, its all I could've asked for! I am holding off my fourth play for when the DLC is released.
In my head I imagined the sequel (if there will be one) would maybe put you in the shoes of either eggabell or lizbert, assuming that since bugsnax eventually wear off, the 2 of them managed to return to some form of themselves, either that or the character you play as returning to the island to stop the bad people from using the bugsnax, I'd like to see sprout return too considering you leave him behind on the island, he should still be there, the main question will be whether the bugsnax are still hostile and will they still be eaten since everyone now knows they're parasites designed to be eaten
Watching all your friends dance puts a smile on my face. A game where you aren't by yourself throughout the entire game and bringing a bunch of characters together before all having escape the island felt hopeful tbh. Also, it would be cool if your character and Liz and Egg were also dancing with the group as a sorta aesthetic for the video.
I love how everyone that trades places just kinda pushes the person they trade with out of the way lol Like when Floofty and Chandlo change places, Chandlo just kinda walks over like “helo yes I would like to dance with my bf please move.” and Floofty just goes “Ight.” and leaves hejekenfjdjskksfksv

Bugsnax always has this somber lonely vibe to me for some reason. It usually gave me an uneasy feeling at times while playing the game. Like a "We're doing the best with what we have." Kind of feeling. Half happy, half sad.
Just finished the game. It was an absolutely incredible experience and the music added SO much. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say this little game will stick with me for a long time. Seth totally knocked it out of the park with this soundtrack.
I’m about to finish the game but I (sadly) had the ending spoiled. I don’t think enough people are talking about it. This game is genuinely one of the best games I have ever played. Truly a masterpiece.
Fun fact: It is not possible to see the current situation in the normal game Wambus is still fully grumpus, and the speedrun community hasn't found a way to skip his first quests yet.
Seth Parker's probably one of my favorite composers ever and he's done two games, right? His work on Octodad has literally lulled me to sleep on many occasions from how much I love it. Part of the reason why Octodad DC was so emotional and whimsical at the same time. Hats off to the man. I'm gonna hold off on listening too much of this before I play the game, as difficult as it is! EDIT: Came back after finishing the game. Oh, now this...This is beautiful. It more than rivals Octodad's soundtrack. Welp, there this goes becoming my entire playlist. It just sets the mood perfectly for the game. My two favorites, purely for the emotional value, have got to be the ones from the climax: Escape from Snaxburg, and the Ascension. But it's all just _so_ good.

Reminds me of an old cartoon network show soundtrack, has an adventure time ring to it, great stuff, this game will be my go to first ps5 game, it looks easily the most creative and strange of the ps5 launch lineup in my opinion, happy to see game developers still taking new risks, great stuff! Yes, Save Friends! and Escape From Snaxburg set the tone so perfectly when I was playing the finale of the game. Really stuck with me and I'm glad to be able to listen to it here. Might there be another video with Wiggle's songs? Kenna Ramsey sounds so amazing with her ditties.

Not gonna lie I'm fully obsessed with how Filbo and Snorpy both dance perfectly in sync to different aspects of Cake Quake. Wiggle also dances probably to the closest energy of Megamaki Attack
Learning the Ropes sounded super scary to me in the game, but it turns out I just wasn't hearing it loud enough to pick up the melody. When I listen to it here, it sounds way friendlier and is, indeed, a bop.
It's so nice to see everybody dancing unsnackified (except Snorpy... I wonder why?). Gramble is such a gentle sweetheart. I love all of them but his cute little cabbagepatch makes me smile the most. Fantastic soundtrack, really sells the emotions of the writing and the good vibes.
Apparently, these are the default appearances for every character, so this is what you see the first time meet each of them. Wiggle is also the same way but it's not as noticeable since it's just her hair
I love how Wambus and Triffany being the married ones have similair dance moves, but Triffany's looks more "city-slicker" like she learned it just to try and learn to dance like Wambus with his country moves
There were times throughout the game where I'd stop progressing and just stand still, listening to the music. It's moving, cute, and super comfy. I wish it was released on Bandcamp, though. I'd get it in a heartbeat!

Theres a youtube channel thats released most if not all of the missing songs!!! They have a separate version of Wiggle's banjo only, but i cant seem to find a mix of the two. Channel's called its_out_of_my_hands it's got all of the tracks separated in a long playlist so if you have faves!!!
My kids listen to this soundtrack EVERYDAY. standout songs are "Ghost Stories", "Frosted Peak" and "CakeQuake". We've beat the game 4 times too! Need a part 2

Would Bugsnax 2 really feel like Bugsnax with a new cast of characters? Maybe I'll have more thoughts after playthrough number three.
Edit 2 (Jan 2022): I did a third playthrough around the time the DLC was announced and, while I hadn't dared hope for DLC, it was exactly what I wanted. In all my snak-filled dreams, I wanted a new area to be discovered with the original characters exploring them! With the custom hut and hats coming too, its all I could've asked for! I am holding off my fourth play for when the DLC is released.

In my head I imagined the sequel (if there will be one) would maybe put you in the shoes of either eggabell or lizbert, assuming that since bugsnax eventually wear off, the 2 of them managed to return to some form of themselves, either that or the character you play as returning to the island to stop the bad people from using the bugsnax, I'd like to see sprout return too considering you leave him behind on the island, he should still be there, the main question will be whether the bugsnax are still hostile and will they still be eaten since everyone now knows they're parasites designed to be eaten

Watching all your friends dance puts a smile on my face. A game where you aren't by yourself throughout the entire game and bringing a bunch of characters together before all having escape the island felt hopeful tbh. Also, it would be cool if your character and Liz and Egg were also dancing with the group as a sorta aesthetic for the video.

I'm not sure if anyone else has said it in the comments cause I haven't checked it but legitimately I've had Escape From Snaxburg on my mind for a while, I love the catchy yet haunting riffs and the beat over it makes it really hype in a bitter sweet way thats still a really good jam regardless
Escape from snakburg was used for the final level of a hat in time mod called welcome to the deep sea the final level was deep sea in ruin
it’s also made up of almost entirely other songs modified and stitched together
Bugsnax always has this somber lonely vibe to me for some reason.
It usually gave me an uneasy feeling at times while playing the game. Like a "We're doing the best with what we have." Kind of feeling.

Just finished the game. It was an absolutely incredible experience and the music added SO much. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say this little game will stick with me for a long time. Seth totally knocked it out of the park with this soundtrack.
I’m about to finish the game but I (sadly) had the ending spoiled. I don’t think enough people are talking about it. This game is genuinely one of the best games I have ever played. Truly a masterpiece.

Seth Parker's probably one of my favorite composers ever and he's done two games, right? His work on Octodad has literally lulled me to sleep on many occasions from how much I love it. Part of the reason why Octodad DC was so emotional and whimsical at the same time. Hats off to the man. I'm gonna hold off on listening too much of this before I play the game, as difficult as it is!
EDIT: Came back after finishing the game. Oh, now this...This is beautiful. It more than rivals Octodad's soundtrack. Welp, there this goes becoming my entire playlist. It just sets the mood perfectly for the game. My two favorites, purely for the emotional value, have got to be the ones from the climax: Escape from Snaxburg, and the Ascension. But it's all just _so_ good.

The only way I can describe this soundtrack (especially the more lowkey relaxing ones) is that it makes me want to go outside and melt into the grass. Which is fitting, considering what this game is about.
Such an odd game...seriously, it is weirdly just wholesome all around from the characters to this soundtrack. Even to yes say the atmosphere of all areas. Beautiful and intriguing.

Reminds me of an old cartoon network show soundtrack, has an adventure time ring to it, great stuff, this game will be my go to first ps5 game, it looks easily the most creative and strange of the ps5 launch lineup in my opinion, happy to see game developers still taking new risks, great stuff! (Also octodad was for real amazing). And remember, kinda bug and kinda snack, gotta catchem in your trap, dang that songs addicting.

Yes, Save Friends! and Escape From Snaxburg set the tone so perfectly when I was playing the finale of the game. Really stuck with me and I'm glad to be able to listen to it here. Might there be another video with Wiggle's songs? Kenna Ramsey sounds so amazing with her ditties.

Learning the Ropes sounded super scary to me in the game, but it turns out I just wasn't hearing it loud enough to pick up the melody. When I listen to it here, it sounds way friendlier and is, indeed, a bop.

It's so nice to see everybody dancing unsnackified (except Snorpy... I wonder why?). Gramble is such a gentle sweetheart. I love all of them but his cute little cabbagepatch makes me smile the most.
Fantastic soundtrack, really sells the emotions of the writing and the good vibes.
Apparently, these are the default appearances for every character, so this is what you see the first time meet each of them. Wiggle is also the same way but it's not as noticeable since it's just her hair

There were times throughout the game where I'd stop progressing and just stand still, listening to the music. It's moving, cute, and super comfy.

Theres a youtube channel thats released most if not all of the missing songs!!! They have a separate version of Wiggle's banjo only, but i cant seem to find a mix of the two. Channel's called

If you have the game on PC it's pretty easy to decompress the audio files yourself

sounds like some kind of trippy and happy synthwave, look up Jasper byrne and the various synthwave mixes on youtube
oh and also check out locust toybox, he's the same guy that made salad fingers and has a pretty similar sound
A lot of it sounds inspired by synthwave/retrowave sounds, but you might enjoy something like Anamanaguchi if you like the more video-gamey style.
