I am not really into homes that are very styled, I am a hygge person, I am all about comfort and cuddle areas. I like keeping it simple, but I also love my blankets all over the place. I love seeing my personality showing all over my home

Pooch Smooch art I am the same way. The more blankets and fluff, the better. Accented with some other textures to bring out the fluff and coziness. And of course books everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

I'm not criticising her particularly, I criticize French culture which makes us feel ashamed to speak languages with a better / good accent

Because she's suggesting buying things like expensive bowls that aren't even meant to hold anything. Peggy might be a professional at styling a space to look artful, but that's not how people typically live in and USE a space. Most families wouldn't purchase a $200 bowl full of 30 lemons, just to add a pop of yellow color. The Kardashians might use 3 lemons, tops before they rot and have to be replaced. And so on, and so on. "Luxury" is often wasteful, and poor people can't afford to waste their limited funds.

Alhassan Canadian French sounds significantly different from French French. I for example have no troubles understanding her, because I’m European. I’m used to different accents.
@@alhassan5623 Hahaha, though as someone who grew up in the same province as her, this really means nothing. Maybe if you spent more time somewhere closer to or in Quebec? But generally, our education in French is extremely limited (one class grade 1 through 9) and unless we've gone to French immersion, we don't carry any of it with us through life. Despite there even being a French version/ingredient list included on nearly every product you buy, we still don't pick it up! French accents are extremely rare here too. It's very different from some other areas that have a second language - nothing like English being a second language in Germany or something where most people are actually able to speak it. We seem to learn a select sampling through elementary school, but are not otherwise encouraged to use it, and so it is forgotten rather immediately.

I can understand her! Are you guys American? XD only asking because they seem to have the hardest time understanding accents of anyone I know. I literally had to put on a fake American accent at times for them to understand me when I was in the US (I'm Australian)

Instead of asking a chic french designer for a budget friendly home decor you should've asked a normal person with experience couse whatever she suggests is still expensive AF for majority .
Here's some tips.
Small place ? You can't obviously drill out a window so use mirrors instead and if you can't buy a big mirror a mirror sticker is a good solution.
Second hand stores sell bunch of old decorations and vases for cheap that are actually old instead of expensive store decorations that are made to look old .
Go for diy stores if you want something wooden making a good looking wooden table or even a putting wood on desks would save you a lot of money .
And as for more storage .. well yeah beds with storage is a good idea but you can also put wrapped up luggage or stuff under the bad instead of buying a new one with basically the same space but framed.
I don't think Taylor actually likes budget friendly things though.
Definitely not my style at all. I prefer farmhouse inspired warm, cozy, inviting, very casual and bright living. But I can appreciate your specific vision and your effort in making it happen.
One store with 24 floors???? that's insane!! and personally I like home decorations but if it takes too long then I get cranky and annoyed and I just want to go home and whenever I do buy new stuff for the house I'm just too lazy to actually put them on the couches or exchange of pillow covers of stuff like that or I can just completely forget about them, that's also an option XD

25 floors, 100 stores. Lots of Hong Kong stores have 1-5 floors in one building like shopping malls. Totally depends where you go!

I know some people look to professionals to decorate their homes, etc..because they really don't have a clue what to do but I would never decorate based on someone else's taste. Just decorate with what you like and experiment with arranging, no need to hire anyone it's your home.

Watching this and taking Peggy's advice when I can barely make rent for my shitty rental hahahaha. (Btw not criticizing at all Taylor great vid and your home looks great ! It's just ironic)
Same here, my rent is taking up over 50% of my income. There's a serious shortage of affordable rentals in the U.S. and the greedy landlords/owners are only taking advantage of it. This is why there are streets lined with people living in RV's in Ca., but this is happening everywhere, homelessness is at epidemic proportions because for most people the cost of living is far higher than their incomes. Just makes me wonder where do all the illegal aliens live, where will they live if we keep letting them come here? I can't help but think this has played a part in the shortage of affordable rentals and the high cost of rents.
You don’t need a decorator to have a great home, and you don’t need Knick-knacks either. If you really need to buy objects, go in a thrift store, and you will find treasures for nothing. And do you really need more objects? People have too much stuff in their home. As long as it reflects you, it’s good.

My Mother in law loves raw concrete too and I have to bei honest. I hate it...looks not finished . In your house I sometimes think uhhh this looks cool and sometimes it looks soooo cold. I am not sure if its just me but I think it looks very cold often

Judy K I totally agree. Some people are angry and bitter that they don’t have the same things some other people have, but most people have plenty of opportunities to have more for themselves, they just don’t want to put in the work needed to get it. So they either belittle the people who DID go after it, or they steal from the people who worked hard. Either way, it’s just awful.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree. I am Dutch myself and learned 4 languages in my years, but I will ALWAYS have an accent in all my non-native tongues. Even if I try my hardest, there will always be a trace of Dutch-ness in it. Moreover the lady in question is older than us, and probably didn’t have an English education from her youth, which makes it even harder to lose an accent.

But STILL, I know how English should sound when it is spoken by a French person, even a student who has learnt english for a year would speak with a better accent, she's just lazy, that's a fact. I have made English studies, I am an ENglish teacher, I know how a very caricatural accent sounds, and that's how this lady sounds.

Les seuls à critiquer sont les français eux-mêmes. Wow i got alot of tips from this vlog...thx...my daughters are obcess with black n white home decor like u n hubby...which is totally out of my league...im so rustic vintage and victorian style ...that every room in my villa has a unique art to it ...my girls are more of ur taste taylor...so this helped me alot in how i can deal with finishing their apartment we just builded for them...n now we have to order tiles for walls n flooring n bathroom sets and paint colors...crazyyyyyyyyy n fun at the same time...at least their father doesnt complain about prices which makes it easier...lol...thx u so much...very informative

Yikes there’s a lot of negative comments on this video 😳 Personally this isn’t my taste in home decor but why is it such an issue that Taylor and Tom like it? I’m sure some of the pieces were pricey but it’s their money 🤷🏻♀️ if it’s something that’s going to bring them happiness why should it matter?
Our home is ever-evolving. Wooden blinds have been replaced by curtains, the kitchen acquired colourful knobs, mexican tile stickers, red kettle and toaster, new light fittings in the living room and hallway. We've been working on our home for ten years and it is all us. Everything on display has meaning and is practical for living. I think this is the best way to create a home you love, that is truly personal.

I love the open space concept and high ceiling so won't feel so crammed. I renovated my house to the same concept too. We have similar taste! My pop of color is red :) my breville is red, fruit bowl on my island is red, with red roses, red pillows for sofa, just brightens up the room. White and wooden table~

Kimaeey what I do with my liquid lipsticks is I make sure theres not a lot of product in the wand and it lasts allllll day and my lips aren’t as dry 😚

I am French living in California and I hope that I don’t have such a terrible French accent! It’s like if the person doesn’t make the effort to even try, and it’s a pity because she’s probably very competent in her field, but how someone who works in Hong Kong can be professional by talking like that??? As a French person, I do apologize. I think that even if I was trying to imitate her, I wouldn’t manage to do so. I am passionate about home decor and all what I could think of by watching this video, was the accent. Come on, a little language effort, please... And you are very brave to understand her, sometimes, I couldn’t even understand her, and I’m French!

Cement finish is alike organic industrial, natural patina and textures that are unique. Just like nature but made by man.
I love the look! Personally I enjoy a lighter interior, but I do like how you have made grey, black and white work together.
I LOVE this. This is style is so chic and classy. Definetely love the golden/brass accents and the velvet, also the wooden pieces for the kitchen, warm but not needing an actual warm color palette. And that flower vase is to die for!
