Steve......I used to live in Utah. I was there when Ted Bundy was around. One family had a daughter abducted. A leg bone was recovered and identified by the police as hers. The police lost the bone. The family buried an empty casket. Bundy got all of the publicity and his victims and their families are forgotten. Best to your husband. Stay safe.

I think probably one of the only victims that’s really remembered would be Sharon Tate. I mean that Manson family killed at least seven other people but she’s the only one mist usually think about. And that’s because she was a well-known actress at the time & married to a big time movie Director.🤷🏻‍♀️

Many others have said this...but...I still want to reiterate how truly special it is to see a person go so far out of his way to show respect to this young lady's memory. Most people would consider the initial attempt "more than adequate" in terms of effort. The many "extra hours" of research and travel to go back and "do it right" are a small example of simply being a "good person". We should all pay attention.

Like you, I have never heard of this crime wave - and I was astounded to hear how many people he had probably killed.
You are right, most often the killers are the ones that are popularized and memorialized. And as far as death sentence? That really means a 30 to 40 year jail sentence. He got to live out his life, and she didn’t. Where is the justice…
Very nice tribute. It’s great to see her plaque at the beach pier. Awesome that she is now much more remembered because of you Steve.
    Kudos. 👍

This story is so creepy. It is good to know "he" is gone. You mentioned trusting your gut. My father always told me and my sisters, "Trust what you feel, if something feels wrong, that's because it is." What this young lady and all the other women went through was so unfortunate and wrong. At least Alcala is gone and can't hurt anyone anymore. I hope he is in a real hot place getting exactly what he deserves.

I don't why States have to give them parole. Charles Manson and Susan Atkins died in prison. The remaining members will leave in the back of a hearse.
Former POTUS Bill Clinton was against giving parole to sex offenders. In Texas, automatic death penalty for cop killers. Interesting fact is that the surviving Manson family members get a parole date but they want them to come back in three to four years for another hearing.

I had recently read about the killers passing in The Fresno Bee. He was born in San Antonio Texas in 1943. He moved to Mexico were his father deserted the family. He moved to Monterey Park near Los Angeles. He enlisted in the United States Army but was discharged on a section 8 after a few years by an army psychiatrist. He had an attitude and mental health problems. He collected a record of assaults, theft and graduated to murder.
His remains were cremated and his ashes scattered.
Host Jim Lange who hosted The Dating Game was also a radio disc jockey for radio stations KPMC, KSFO, KFRC Magic 61, KLIV, KABL in the San Francisco bay area. Jim passed away in 2014. He spent his retirement years living in Sonoma county. His Find A Grave page said his final resting place is "unknown". Jim Lange is a member of the Bay Area Radio and Television Hall of Fame.

Poor little soul. May she be resting in peace and may he be rotting in the other place. 💖

My new favorite of your tours. Alcala was a monster for sure!!! How you never heard of him amazes me, his story was huge and widely covered. Well done, Steve. God bless, my brother!
