Here I am three months later and a few days after getting mine. I'm really happy with the results of my first flights. I'm using a brain3d mount on an Acrobrat Duo with no jello. Insta360 has to fix the rotation issue and well, 60fps would be fantastic. Sadly RUclips has taken out the 'rotate' buttons which would have helped the people who don't have Premier. It's also funny RUclips will import the .insv file and you get the almost 180 degree view but it's, well rotated the wrong way... Fingers crossed there will be an update soon! Thank you, Andy.
You don't need any 3rd party app to do the roll adjustment after you set the stabilization to FPV. The GO App has a Barrel Roll feature in the playback (long press then you'll see the grid and angle handler) which can let you rotate the footage to any angle before exporting, and also you can adjust the aspect ratio as well.
Great review. I have one also and except for the framerate I like it a lot. You can twist the video with fpv stabilisation in the Go App as well and Export it in the Right Orientation. Just holt at the begin of the clip in the middle of the screen and you can roll the image to the correct side. Then it will be exported right
You can long press on the video in edit mode and than rotate the video to the right way

You can download the file to your internal storage inside the Insta360 Go app. Then long press on the image to trigger rotation mode. Correct the orientation and then export it the way
not sure if you'd tried it but you can rotate the footage in the phone app if u touch and hold it allows you to put in a keyframe and change the orientation and focus, i do this when using the fpv stabilization mode as my camera is mounted upside down.
Yes that works good spot! Although would be much easier if they added a rotate option without the key frame

@@AndyRCchannel The PC app needs a simple rotate on export function. I don't use the phone app and dislike having to export as 9:16 1080px1920 and then use an ffmpeg step or go through rotate and resize in my editor.

Andy, are you familiar with youtuber 'mini micro FPV'? He's done a fair bit with this camera on micros, and has even designed some pretty good looking 3D printable mounts. He's a cool guy, has some micro frame designs too. Good vid as always!

Finnley someone told the truth about all the little problems you may get with this cam. Ok, it looked pretty good on the Cinepro But the cinepro has a bloody good cam anyway so why bother with this. Well done Andy "Great" review

I know this is a video from 7 months ago but i noticed you have removed the prop guards from your cinepro. whats are your thoughts without them? i have removed them also and put some 2.3 avan props on but not tested it out properly yet.
Keep up the great work you do BTW you have helped me no end as i have got into the hobby during lockdown since last year and already built several quads. This hobby is just so addictive but i simply love it.

Since this has FPV mode and GoPro has bought reelsteady/go and it asks if you are using it for fpv, I wonder what might be in the pipeline for fpv from both of these companies seen as tho they might be showing an interest in fpv🤔 hopefully we might get something soon that will surpass the session 5 which IMO is still the best for quads. Sure it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the newer cameras have but at least it can take a beating 😂
Insta360 is more oriented in HW than SW - looks like they rather introduce new camera than implement features in their SW. Since insta 360 one x, some features from mobile app are still missing in the PC version and that's being like well more than a year after release?
Just tested mine first time.. I don't have a mount so I just zip tied it horizontally.. hard mounted i can notice the vibrations/jello
Nice review andy hey not sure you know but you can rotate the video 90 on the phone after you download and save a clip . Also any chance of getting one of the mounts ive been trying like crazy to buy one with some lens protection on it yours is perfect id gladly pay for one

I have to ask: since our quads have gyros, isn't there a software that could interpret that in combination with the video recording of the flight and then stabilize it? I wish this worked...
I think it's possible. Perhaps black box can be used in some way as it records gyro Info. We just need a camera company to look at it

Others aren't getting the jello (here's 3rd person view: ruclips.net/video/n_AHr0r4Wo0/видео.html), so it has to be the mount or the quad. I was thinking a mounting loop on both left and right sides of the copter would reduce that. It may also be that it simply works better in upright orientation also, as I've seen videos even on a Tello with the stick on mount that have no jello. It could make sense if INSTA thought most people would mount it upright on their medallion...

This camera loves light. It's not very good at all in low light. Fpv stabilization will not solve Jello issues.
I have several flight edits on my channel using this cam on micros with 65mm props. Great on point video.

I took mine out at 4.45 am and It didn't look that great plus I am only getting 2 to 3 mins on mine in this heat wave then it shuts down. I have only had it 3days now hope it's not damage
Been using on my Tinyhawk Freestyle II and with a 3d printed mount I actually don't get any jello.
@@earlybirdflights9884 I get 5 minute videos. A good practice is to not let it be turned on when you're not flying. Like when you crash and need to reset, or changing batteries. Not letting it sit on the ground too long before getting in the air.

Too many overheating issues, glitches and it's too vulnerable. So easy to bust or scratch the lens. I do hope they make a upsized version with higher bitrate and lens protection and/or ND.
Wish they make fpv model with air holes

Not a bad lil camera Andy! I just pulled my spedix Rex80 HD apart, then I put the runcam split 3 into my tyro79 & wow! That Rex80 frame sucks balls haha, so nice in the tyro79 frame! Check my crash out for a laugh 😅
They do look fantastic however seams you had to do a lot to get something good out of it.

Just export on the computer and you shouldn't have any problems.
The flow state is weird. When you do a flip, it does a twerk.
Image quality looks no better than what you can get from the DJI air unit's recording..
I just got mine... So you can't change the settings unless you have a Apple phone or tablet to run the app. This makes it pretty useless for me...

The setting I was looking for I guess happen in post on their editing software side, didn’t realize the stabilization was always enabled which is a good thing

I am only getting 2 to 3mins on mine on 5min fpv . is it getting too hot and shutting down or do I have possible damage?. it has been very hot weather the last few days, I did get 5mins at home by blowing on it. made me dizzy lol.thanks
If it overheats it shuts down so it could be the weather. I had it do it once Indoors

@@earlybirdflights9884 Since the magnet is the heat sink, you can help it out by shaping some metal into small fins and attaching, like a CPU heat sink so that the air flow flying sucks away the heat better...
