Great quad... Closest thing to a 5" in handling, but below 250g... Love it!
There are lots of motor and prop options on other models of varying weights and setups but this is a very capable speedy quad that can be flown in places a 5" would be tricky. There are other models if you want longer flight times but this is a good power setup for a model this size/weight. I'll be looking at a model that is very similar that is no where near as efficient as this next weekend.. Stay tuned!

Nice review of a cute HD quad.
I flew Armattan exclusively for several years but they changed their $5 flat rate shipping to $20 USD on warrantee parts to Australia a year ago (they say due to the virus but no one else charges more) so it’s not worth paying the premium price for me anymore.
There’s a lot to like about their frames but the arms tend to break so ppl should check shipping cost to their country and take that into account IMHO.
Just finished building my one last night. Very compact build and beautiful.
My first HD build. Blown away :).
Excited for a proper flight later.

I have had 2 2,5 inch versions and 2 3 inch versions. Nothing broke and the components are well protected.
Ive broke everyone 😁😁 I have ( 4" gecko 5" chameleon) But not easily and all were replaced made video. Lol funny one. Armattan is a must have frame.

@@laurence4051 it's my main flyer.. I most comfortable with. Soooo it takes the risk. And it's backed 100% getting this 3" asp then have 3.4..5 lol bit addicted. But I made a 3rd person view bird that is bear Tuff too! I'll leave a Link. Armattan took 1 year of hits. Tree trunks.. metal poles.. walls. Lol I'm getting better!!
Just flew the maiden on a 2.5 analog build a few minutes ago out in the yard. Can't wait to get it out in a small field. Love the frame look as well.

Great company for frames and BNF. I have wanted to get a Tadpole or Japalura for years, but never had one. And I just flown my Chameleon yesterday. I guess I'm going to need to build one next time. Thanks again for the information and video.

Tadpole HD, Very nice little frame. I'm on my 3rd or 4th replacement. Armattan, please add an extra 0.5 mm to 0.75mm to the bottom plate. All my damages occur to front arms especially the right....hmmmm.
I w had one a couple of weeks but can't get hold of a caddx pro :/
the tadpole HD is one of the most underrated and overseen product in this class. the reason could be, it is not pushed to the paid reviewers as the other BS on the market. i will order mine now, i try to go with TM 1204 6500 motors to have a 2S and 3S choice and the GF3016. the numbers from efficiency are are way too good ;-)
Mine is flying now, had to go up to 3S 800 and dual 3018 props. flys nice, but has a little wiggle with 3S. didnt have tested the armattan stock pids from their build yet, but i think i have to decrease something :-)
filtered and finetuned mine now, still a lot of fun. 4.3 is king.

Fatshark sharkbite. Orqa has one in the make.
Sharkbyte is analog 1.2, so it's hard to recommend it. They've had lots of problems with it not working, too. Barely any better than regular analog. IMO, it's a poor value because it's over $300 bucks and gives you so little improvement in image quality when compared to regular analog. 😩😳 = 💸
So, for digital crystal clear HD FPV flying, DJI's digital FPV system is the only choice! And, it's so much better than anything that's ever hit FPV, nothing is even close! 😎🤘

Hi which one you prefer between de kopis mini and this armattan. Did you provide the weight ? That is crucial for sub 250g.

Physically there may be enough room, but it looks tight. I'd message Armattan and ask if they have tried it.. Best of luck!

Hi Lee, good review and nice frame. I may pick up the frame for a new build. What do you think about going to 1404 motors instead of these? I have a 3" with Xing 1404 and it flies great on 650 4s for more than 5 min. Though I may try out these props.
I have a review of another almost identical model to this next weekend. That one uses the GR1404-3850KV motors and doesn't have a lot more punch but gets through the battery a lot quicker.. I prefer the motor and props on this..
the price > but warranty is cool
Hq3x2.5x3 is the best for these.
I have to ask, does this fit the original dji (vista) camera? If so it would be exactly what I'm looking for and additionally it's from Armattan as a huge bonus! If it fits it would look fantastic next to it's bigger brother.

My Emax hd 2 flies Great but a little weak, I also fly a Holybro 3" Kopis HD And wondered how this Tadpole would compare in power ? PS could it do well w/a 4s 850 ?
It it great for 4s and I've flown it on the smaller packs like that and it is fine but you will get only a handful of minutes. I've not flown the EMAX model but I can attest to how much like a regular, powerful 5" this one flies. I have a few 3-3.5" models here at the moment and this is my favourite..

can you ask one of your sponsors to make a small brushless quad that is just a toy without a camera or gps? like the brushed ones with their own controller and just stabilized with 3 rates and without proprietary batteries
I don't have sponsors but I do sometimes work closely with a few manufacturers. I'll pass this on.
Love their frames and the guarantee! I'm curious why they would go with such small motors?! 1204's are pretty small for 3" quads. Many use 1404 - 08 and some use 150?.
So, it certainly isn't fast, when compared to most other 3" quads. 🤔
The Emax Babyhawk 2 hd uses the same camera, much bigger motors and gets way longer flight time. It's much more efficient. Even up to 20+ minute flights when using a larger 4s lipo. So, it can double as a pretty capable long range HD quad too. Can't imagine this quad doing that with those small motors. Hmmm, still curious about that choice...
I have who0ps that use 1103 motors, and 1204's aren't that much bigger!

Should do. I use a DJI FPV controller. That is how I fly it here....

Throw that setup in a Gank Multirotors Micro Nemesis.. 3" quad that feels like a 5"..
there is not significant benefit to do that. the nemesis has only holes for 1 stack, you have to print this tpu holders BS and no warranty at all. armattan will have spare parts for years, Gank maybe. Tadpole has 26grams, and the nemesis with TPU parts? If you have a good setup, it will do more in the tadpole! the tadpole HD is one of the most underrated and overseen product in this class.
