I want the walksnail version. I think those are the HD goggles im going with. Planning on ordering them and a transmitter next week. I'm ready to get back in the air after a year away.
Poor ole HDZero won't get you even 1/4 of the distance exploring, when flying closer to the ground though. (I'm exaggerating too, it's not even close to 1/4 of the distance 03 will fly!) DJI 03 will fly down to the very end of JB's road where the street sign is. When he did his tests of the different digital FPV systems, that's where 03 ended up. HDZero got to the bottom of JB's property, about where the whole test started, and got the rainbow 🌈 screen of death ☠️ and was done! I suggest you search for those test comparisons of the 3 digital systems. It's fascinating! And a HUGE mind opener about exactly what you're missing out on. Sorry to say, but true. 🤷😥
JB is great but just like the review this is based on quite an old version of the FlyLens 85. If you get the version with GPS, it's certainly worth updating to beta flight 4.5 just for the huge improvements in GPS Rescue.
@kaygeebee1962 why would you not fly it further than your garden?? The 03 and express lrs have far more range and capability, and with the advertised 8 min on a 1,000 Mah 2s battery, you could explore the neighborhood..😉
@@kaygeebee1962 If you look at the GPS offered by Flywoo it's tiny and adds little weight. Although the FlyLens 85 can acro, with the O3 lite it's fragile and one bad crash and that's an expensive O3 Camera at least in the bin. As I fly on a 1000mah 2s, I can get around 8 minutes of cruising with high quality video some distance away outside my reasonable sized garden. GPS Rescue in 4.5 works so much better than 4.4 (well it actually works!) and if it means I lose a few extra seconds of flight but get a $500 drone back, for me this is a worthwhile offset. Furthermore, JB mentions his dislike of Horizon mode but of course this has changed a lot in 4.5 and he now seems to endorse it. For ripping around my garden, I have an Analog Air75 which I feel is more suited.
@ig2016 I have one with a GPS and I agree with you. I haven’t upgraded to BF 4.5, but would be interested in your CLI file if you are willing to share it.
@@kaygeebee1962You're thinking of the olden days, my friend! 😀 With ELRS and 03 as your VTX this 85mm whoop can fly way, Way out further than you would have ever imagined years ago. Back in the FrSky & FlySky days you're right, you'd never leave your garden. But with today's tech, it's a different story! You've probably seen Bardwell's flights down to the end of his road, right? When he tests how far a quad will fly with different digital and analog systems on it. Well, with 03 and ELRS this quad can easily make it all the way to the end of his road, down to the street sign. That's one hella long way - flying right close to the ground too. Probably between 1/2 and a full mile down there. It takes quite a while just to fly there! Lol If you haven't seen those flights, search his channel for comparisons of digital systems distance flying. DJI, Walksnail, and HDZero comparisons. It's rather entertaining just seeing how HDZero barely gets off JB'S property and gets the dreaded rainbow 🌈 screen of ☠️ death💀, and is done! Kinda right at the starting gate... It's so pathetic! 🤣 Lol Anyway, this Flylens 85, with 03, will totally surprise you in how far it'll fly! Blow yer mind, is more like it! ✅🤯
Were they sent to you months ago jb? I bought mine 3 weeks ago and just received it a week ago, and mine has the updated MPU 6000 flight controller with usbc. The PCB is white on the new version. 🙂
You can choose which gyro if you buy the FC, but the drone kit or complete O3 drone is afaik shipped with ICM42688, not MPU6000 (but I personally do not think this is important)
@@DUH-rq1fe It very much is because the older one cuts power to the 03 unit mid flight. At least I had this problem. It would also cut power if I bumped into something more than slightly. If you get the older FC send it back immediately because flywoo won't stand behind the faulty FC in the older version even though they admitted there was a problem.
@@GearBangerFPV we're talking about GOKU F405 HD 1-2S 12A ELRS AIO V2 with the white solder mask. So whats the point of your comment? So which one did you have?
I've been looking to get the flylens 75! question for you as someone brand new to FPV through way of the Avata 2 - now that the goggles 3 as well as the remote controller 3 are compatible with the O3 air unit, should I or do I need to use beta flight when initially setting up this drone?
Sup JB! What about the esc config? I suspect they have crazy high startup/rampup powers set from the box since you blew the FET so easily. Imho checking the ESC configuration of a new quad is as important as checking BF’s.
I just picked up the walksnail moonlight version, but can't get the goggles x to bind. I see the sd card in the vtx during binding but seems like weak signal strength.
If you just pick yours up, there's a good chance you have a newer version of the board. My inclination is that Bardwell got these months ago and just got around to reviewing them. I bought mine through 3 weeks ago and received it a week ago, and my flight controller has USBC and an mpu 6000 gyro. I would just refer to the product description, and directly to flywheel support if you feel like it's defective.
My cl2 from rotor riot is not binding , from solid green goes to solid red and pressing the little button it doesnt blink red , it just stays solid red
Does anyone know where to get an otg cable with USB type C on both ends? Just bought a nazgul5 eco and can't connect it to my phone and speedybee app because it takes usb c and my otg cable is micro usb. Tried an adapter but that doesn't work either.. what do I do!?
@JoshuaBardwell Nah, I have an otg cable that is micro usb on both ends that I have been using for years. But the new Nazgul5 eco has a usb c input on the flight controller. All my other drones have a micro usb input. My micro usb otg cable has a "host" end that has to be plugged into the phone side..
@JoshuaBardwell I also have one that is usb c on the "host" phone end an micro usb on the other end. But I can't find a usb c to usb c cable with a "host" end.
That's interesting. I didn't know that. But I'm still pretty sure you can't have an OTG cable with identical connectors on both ends. The USB OTG wikipedia page confirms this.
@JoshuaBardwell Well, if that were true, the one I've been using for years wouldn't work, but it does. It works perfectly on all my drones with micro usb inputs. I even bought an otg adapter to go from micro usb to usb c, but that didn't work either. I have no idea how im going to set up this Nazgul5 eco.
Thanks Joshua for this video. I am planning on purchasing this same drone & goggles in a few months; so this setup video will be very helpful.
You'll love this 85mm and 03 especially! 😎🤘
Just got mine with the moonlight. The drone flies great, you'll love it.

Mine was delivered a couple of weeks ago with a usb-c😎
And Betaflight 4.3*
