I'm awaiting delivery on it's replacement, the Freestyle 2, and straight out of the box it shouldn't need all the mods needed on v1. Great review

Matt, I'm happy to see this video since I have both these drones en route and will be here in the next couple of days. They are my first drones so I'm currently putting in time in Liftoff with my BetaFPV Lite 2 radio and Eachine Goggles Two. Hopefully this setup will be fun to start with. I want to keep the weight under 250g because I live in Canada and don't want to have to register.
Because of this video, I decided to get the TH2F. But being kind of a tinkerer, I quickly realised I had to fit it with an XT30 connector and bigger battery packs for 10min+ flight times. 😁
Hi. How did this work out? What flight times are you getting? What type of 2S batteries are you using? Does the additional battery weight affect the flight characteristics or flight time? Thanks mate!
I ❤️ the th2 freestyle, the look is amazing & for the price I don't think you can go wrong. The mobula hd can be flown indoors for ppl who live in less than perfect conditions like my self, this past week I haven't been able to fly cause it's been ridiculously hot outside. I wish I would have started with a tiny whoop
I have Eachine Small Pepper, and it's really fun, It only has 1 battery, and it has a tiny radio, but it's fun and durable. There're 2 packs, one with just the drone/radio, and another with the FPV goggles too.

Very nice review ... thanks for that. The TH Freestyle with HD Recording would be the perfect TinyWhoop for me. Thanks for this review. Just got into FPV, been playing in LiftOff and now I ended up with both a Mobula 6 (not HD with the 25000kv motors) and the TH2FS. First outing last weekend with a few friends and their Camera drones. These two are great for new pilots I think and this review helped me make the right choice. If you are new, also check out the battery charger review here as well. Not regretting anything I've bought after watching reviews on this channel. Thanks again, Cheers!
I absolutely _love_ my Freestyle 2. It's my first ever FPV and I've been using it near-daily for about 3 weeks now; I don't feel like I've even come close to using it to its full potential. BTW for anyone interested: I use 2x 850mAh batteries and get about 8-10 minutes of flight time, and the added weight over the supplied 450mAh batteries isn't noticeable - to me anyway. Also I lowered the camera angle to 0 degrees at first, and dropped the throttle to 60% in BetaFlight, until I got the hang of it. I can do Level and Horizon Mode flying, but I can't handle Acro to save my life lol. Either way I'd 100% recommend this drone!
I actually have bolth of these it's nice how the tinyhawk has the 6 port charger to charge all battery's from factory at once for bolth of them but also grab a velcro strap and use one of those 450s for the mobula6 bro trust me way longer flight times and a bit more power to play with
I agree about how much fun toothpick drones like the tinyhawk freestyle are. I'll, too, often grab the toothpick instead of my 5 inch for the exact same reasons. It's so durable, low risk, and far cheaper. The props are cheaper and more durable, and the batteries are far cheaper. I've got a crash reel with a modified tinyhawk race and in the whole time, all I've had to replace are props, and not as often as you might think. Mine does have a different FC, VTX, and canopy, and all is conformal coated though. If anyone is thinking of a toothpick, just do it! The whoop style drones would probably make a better very first drone though for learning.
Fantastic review, well presented, keep up the good work Matt. I'm a little behind you in terms of experience and knowledge, so your videos really resonate with me. In this video, you mention PID tuning - how about making a video on that?
If that's the case, please skip PID tuning for now. It is for much more experienced pilots capable of noticing specific flight characteristics and addressing them with tuning. Most stock tunes are fine, and if not just load up standard profiles on whatever software you use for a better tune.
I ordered FPV DJI. I was wonder I will be possible to connect that tiny Forbes do Google's V2 ? Of course I need different controller? Any recommendation? I was thinking about 1 km range max
Matt I really liked the video thank you, I am still about to make my first purchase and the Tiny Hawk just seems like what I am wanting besides a drone that could carry a gopro but the tiny hawk looks so fun and a good way to learn also so this is helping me a lot thank you.
I'm seriously considering buying a runcam split3 lite (same as Mobula6 HD) for my (ordered, but not yet received) TH 2 freestyle, but I don't know it it would fit well.
Just curious, what's this surface you're writing on at 13:38? I'm making some overhead videos about a completely different topic, and I thought this looks great!
The debate with regard to which of these drones you should buy is quite simple : both ! If you don’t want to buy both, you need to decide on whether HD-Video and filming indoors is more important to you than the dynamic that the Tinyhawk II has to offer. Probably the mobula is the better choice for absolute fpv-newbies, and the Tinyhawk is the better choice for those who want to zip around faster, and further. The tinyhawk lacks prop guards, not that they are really required for flying as the drone is pretty rugged, but in my view they would be advisable from a safety point of view, as the authorities are dreaming up more and more regulations for flying drones, and prop guards protect props..and people !
Great review! Like many others I appreciate your production and presentation skills. I would like to get both of these drones! Thanks for your clear information!
As someone who started with EMAX products exclusively, I can pretty confidently say that, while they are great products for beginners, you will quickly outgrow them. When this happens, their flaws become quite apparent. Namely the all-in-one flight controller/ESC stacked with the VTX. Honestly, I think the flight controller and ESC are pretty solid, but the way that they have chosen to connect them to the VTX to it is very weak and problematic. I can't tell you how many times my flight buddy and I have fought with repairing the connection between the two. Do I recommend their products for beginners? Absolutely. Just keep in mind that they have their share of problems and you'll likely outgrow them quickly. Great video, by the way! Keep them coming!

I've been looking towards these little guys for most of the reasons you mentioned - most importantly - I can fly them more aggressively and with much less worry than my 5 inch.....anyhow I'm sold on the Tinyhawk going to order it now 😎 Thanks Matt great video
I got the tinyhawk freestyle 2 as a first kwad and I absolutely loooovve it! The antenna placement is kinda annoying but ez fix. Also I think I'm gonna put in a more powerful vtx in eventually. But I highly recommend this little drone.
For the record you don't have to use two 1s lipos in the Tiny Hawk FS 2. Mine came set up to run on 1 battery with a warning to change the Pid Profile if two batteries were used. Even came with a jumper/plug for use with only one battery.
I just got the tiny hwak 2. And it will fly just fine with a insta360 mounted on in and it's still below 100g with the insta360 and both batteries! It's
For the tinyhawk, I'd recommend installing an xt30, ditching the double 1s batteries, and go to a 2s battery. That is unless you already have a whoop with a bunch of 1s batteries spare.
I'm a newbie, but thought I'd throw in what I got. My goggles are the EV800D. Decent, but seems to not have the best reception or battery life. My RC is the Radiomaster TX16s, which has been great.
I would second Sunrise's choice as a box goggle (which, if you're wearing special Rx glasses, is the way to go), but with Skyzone's Cobra (S or X) now available, I would suggest you look into those. They use the same diversity Rx (Steadyview) that is in their latest SKY04X. With no intent to dis Matt on his channel, have a look at Joshua Bardwell's "Best FPV Goggle Buyer's Guide 2021" for a list of what's available and aspects to think about.
@Matt Pockwat Congrats on your channel. Nice to see a Canuck contribute content to the community with a delivery in layman's terms. I stumbled upon your channel by a RUclips suggestion. I was curious to here what you had to say. I gather you're an aerial cinematography enthusiast. It may explain why you have a Mob6 HD. It's interesting that, in this video, you cover the Mob6 HD and TH2. You should try the non HD Mob6! You'll find them drastically different! That extra 7g on a 65mm drone is HUGE! The non HD is nimble and very agile to rip around inside (in bad weather). Consider moving your Mob6 HD guts onto a 75mm frame. See Nick Burns' "Mobulite HD Pro // Improve your Mob6 HD". Godspeed and happy flying!!
Probably BOTH, I've been flying FPV for 15 years but just recently got into the micro world aside from the ol' Inductrix. My youngest son and I both have Firefly 1s V2 quads and Air65s coming for Xmas. We both want more of these tiny quads so we will likely get both so we can experiment.
I'm a beginner and I've also got the Mobula 6 (non HD) and the Tinyhawk Freestyle II. They are really great for starting out as far as I can tell :) Pretty much bind & fly and really humble to fly.
@@limestone_xyz Nah, just saying. He means well, but he makes a lot of mistakes. Id say its a worth while channel to watch as he takes his journey, but there are better places for advice....neither of these I would recommend to learn, but I don't do advice things on my channel.
@@limestone_xyz Mob 6 is far to quick and is intended as an indoor whoop racer. The THFS2 has far to much throttle. In the end I can see both discouraging those who don't come natural to the piloting end of things.
With the tinyhawk 2 Theres an adaptor in the small ziplock bag to loop one of the battery plugs to fly on 1s it makes it much more controllable indoors
New to FPV. Decided to go with the TH2F. I like the idea of how you tied the 2 antennas to the frame to make sure they are out of the way of the props. I'm trying to work out how you tied the rear antenna up and out the way. It's not visually clear in the video. And, how did you managed to secure the batteries in place now the cable tie is crossing the top of the frame? It seems less stable now as they want to slide about.

For the tinyhawk, I'd recommend installing an xt30, ditching the double 1s batteries, and go to a 2s battery. That is unless you already have a whoop with a bunch of 1s batteries spare.
Hi. Did you get additional flight time with the XT30 and 2S batteries?
Hey Matt! Would really appreciate if you could recommend goggles and radio for the Mobula 6hd. Thanks in advance mate!
TH2 Freestyle is insanely fun! I have a TH2 for indoor fun and the Freestyle 2 for ripping outside.
Well, you did help me make up my mind to buy the Mobula 6HD. I already have the Tinyhawk II Freestyle. T'anks! PEACE!
Have you flown it and how do you like it?
I thinking about buying mobula 6. Thank you for this really great video!
Thumbs up for the Raptors shirt. Your video is good too 🙌
Thanks for the review, I'll just buy both of them :)
LOL i was thinking that too!
Waste money just buy dji
@@zinmayzumbaandaerobic6405 and this is how comparable to a whoop etc?
Make sure to put tape over the sd card slot on the Mobula 6 HD. The sd card can eject on a crash.
I'm a beginner and I've also got the Mobula 6 (non HD) and the Tinyhawk Freestyle II.
They are really great for starting out as far as I can tell :)
Pretty much bind & fly and really humble to fly.
He's a noob also.
@@riggermortisfpv526 sorry?
@@limestone_xyz Nah, just saying. He means well, but he makes a lot of mistakes. Id say its a worth while channel to watch as he takes his journey, but there are better places for advice....neither of these I would recommend to learn, but I don't do advice things on my channel.
@@riggermortisfpv526 I did not ask for advice tbh, that was just my 2cts regarding starting out (as a beginner myself).
@@limestone_xyz Mob 6 is far to quick and is intended as an indoor whoop racer. The THFS2 has far to much throttle. In the end I can see both discouraging those who don't come natural to the piloting end of things.
Deciding if I should get a nazagul, or a tiny hawk freestyle next.
And still it's so true , was also one of my first quad too and sooo similar to 5inch quads thats so true but it's also easy to rip it indoor
Awesome video! But I'm so new to this, which controller should I buy? And what about this tuning or software thing that you spoke about?
Gonna get my tinyhawk 2freestyle next week🔥
With the tinyhawk 2 Theres an adaptor in the small ziplock bag to loop one of the battery plugs to fly on 1s it makes it much more controllable indoors
Great video
In love with tinyhawk freestyle 2, great beginner quad
Your videos are super! Is there any chance you have some advice for adding Crossfire to QX7, I thought this wasn’t supported? Thanks.
Feel free to dm me on insta. I can take a photo later
@@MattPochwat will do. Thanks for getting back to me promptly. I already came across your channel a few weeks ago when researching FPV but funny enough you’ve just done a video with the guys from Drone Film Guide 👍🏼 I’ve come from flying camera/videography drones so already followed them from a cinematographers perspective.
