Why is it that every time Thelma Hopkins is mentioned in one of these videos, it skips over the fact that she was on Family Matters as well as being one half of Dawn in the group Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Exactly. I feel that If someone is going to list attributes and accomplishments, they should not leave out some of the most important ones.

Why did Rosie O'Donnell take up the whole video basically? She got more time than the main characters. I know she has accomplished a lot in her career, and I don't take that away from her, but she was not a main star of Gimme A Break. The show was basically over when she came on. They should have let the main stars of this show shine more than they did.

This is a good 1980s sitcom show of the 1980s what good times and moments I had growing up watching this show, love it. R.I.P. to those actors, actresses and crew that made this sitcom show and that pass away may there soul rest forever in peace. To all the actors, actress and crew that made this show and are still living I hope them well & success in their lives.

Telma Hopkins was also part of the duo Dawn in "Tony Orlando and Dawn." Very important info left out. Best known song for Tony Orlando and Dawn is "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree." Telma also played Rachel on the hit TV show Family Matters.

Funny thing about Helen Hunt. Even though she didn't get the part of Katie, she appeared in the first season in an episode as a pregnant friend of Katie's. And of course, she has gone on to big things.

This sure brings back a lot of fond memories of growing up in the 80's. I loved this show and had the hugest crush on Lara Jill Miller. She's still quite the stunner now that I think about it. Antenna TV is currently airing re-runs of the show, and it's like I get to live my 80's childhood all over again! We 80's kids sure had a lot of awesome TV shows on the airwaves during that time, didn't we? Good times!

    Correction: I beg to differ:
Lauri Hendler did NOT give up acting! She is alive and well and working in Los Angeles in commercials, on some of today's top TV shows and on stage! I met Lauri when I guest starred on "The Groupie" episode with Andy Gibb and we're still buds! Saw her and Lara Jill Miller last month.

I was always a big fan of now I did not know she did voice-overs for Spider-Man Bebe Kids but it's nice to know that she was also part of the Marvel Universe wish you would have been part of DC as well they get along pretty good I hope on her last day she was very happy I hope she had no regrets and I hope she rest in peace God bless her soul and her family and I'm watching give me a break right now I first started watching that show as a kid when it was still new and that shows spawned so much laughter and Joey Lawrence was spawned from there and grew I'm sure she must have been very proud of her TV son

Why did you not use their formal names (firsta and last)? I am certain I`ve seen this same issue in the others. These folks do have last names tha are important to them. As well, some of your facts are missing. This is a good idea, but you can make it better by making it more formal. These folks worked hard for their profession.

Lauri Hendler was one of the better celebrity players on SUper Password and $25K/$100K Pyramid, being a clue giver for a $100K Pyramid tournament win at the age of 22 or 23 and winning a large number of bonus rounds in a row on Super Password around the same age range(between 20-24 when she did her game show appearances). Howard MOrton played a few rounds of Pyramid and Super Password, Lara Jill Miller did Pyramid once or twice. Nell was on the last episode of the 1990-91 revival of Match Game.

What about Mama Maybelle (now deceased)? She went on to play Mother Winslow on Family Matters with Telma Hopkins playing Aunt Rachel. Although it was kind of a corny show, it was very successful for the family demographic. It was the first time since the 70s Blaxploitation era that a major network, such as ABC, started developing all black programming but aiming it the general population. Remember TGIF on ABC, when all the shows were non political, corny, fun and kid friendly between eight and ten pm on a Friday night?
All the black actors that worked on those lineups broke through a very elevated glass ceiling, because they drew ratings, and increased profits for the network. Rosie may have a longer resume but sometimes it is how powerful a person's job is not just how many jobs they have acquired in Hollywood. (I took a few media studies courses in Uni when I was younger)

There was nothing typical about her. If you are referring to the character she portrayed on the show then, perhaps there are many stereotypical things about "Nell Harper". But Nell Carter, the woman, was an incredibly talented, externally and internally gorgeous human irrespective of her skin colour. I admired her so much when I was growing up, her face resembled my moms and her singing could summon angels from heaven; that is not typical, that is extraordinary.
