If you like being OP and special, rush the main quest and then NG+ ten times (picking up all the powers each time for upgrades) for the maxed out Venator. It'll be repetitive but you're only looking at 20 hours there. Once you get Venator you can play the full game and enjoy all the side quests while also being decked out in the best gear.
You are 100% correct there’s no reason at all if you plan on getting the hunter gear at the end of the 10th NG, to invest any time at all on factions or side quests, because you’re gonna lose it anyways
Great point and awesome tips! I might have to mess around and grind that out for a video 😂 I appreciate you checking out the video and dropping some NG+ tips!
Ive started pursuing more of the artifacts in NG+ and I keep getting distracted with random stuff to do and ships to steal 😂 are you going full NG+ grind?
I’m not sure I see the point being made. I feel like since the campaign allows you to experience all the main parts of the game in a good quantity, why divert from the main quest? I guess I’m not understanding why it’s best to not rush the main quest-line. If the reason is that you miss the new experience of freedom, I don’t quite agree because you still get that experience of freedom when you do Ng+. Also, in my mind and I think the vast majority of peoples minds, it doesn’t feel like they have tons of freedom if they will end up having to lose what they’ve invested in side stuff in order to have the NG+ rewards.
I feel like, logically, if you're planning on playing Starfield for a long time, it makes the most sense to burn through the New Game+ as many times as needed to get the best gear, THEN go back and do the remainder of the side content. I would hate to build up the world, outposts, gear, resources, money, etc, just to have it all taken away through a new game mode that gives you a few different lore related choices, but nothing else. Also, your research station doesn't reset with new game plus, so while you have the resources and things available in the first playthrough, feel free to do a bunch of research to unlock various mods and crafting things
Yeah it's almost pointless to me to become a god in a game that is easy as can be even on the hardest difficulty not to mention single player. Maybe in a multiplayer game I understand but the game is so much fun right now exploring and just doing what I want. I feel like I'd be burnt out rushing new game plus just so I can become a god in a single player game that only I can see.
This was the best non spoiler explanation of how NG+ works that I’ve found and I appreciate all the info. You answered my most burning question, like do you automatically go into NG+ once you finish the main story? So, thank you for that! 🙏🏻
The complete deletion of *everything* is why you shouldnt "waste" your time with the side stuff. Power up the stuff that you can only power up through doing repeated NG+, and then settle down for the long haul and build to your hearts content.
Ironically made my 1st run as a pirate. Never settled, dedicated to ships or whatever. It was a loot and raid build and always wondering around and never having a so called home.
That sounds like an awesome way to go for a 1st run! I absolutely love the freedom of play styles within Starfield and hearing the stories/memories players create! Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts!
Nah, those folks who rushed in are regretting it now. Even though other content creators, highlighting express playthroughs, said clearly, they have secondary characters to play organically with. The only thing people need to know, is the more you do, every playthrough; the more goes into the mix on each playthrough. - there are A LOT of quests in this game. Not just the faction arcs. There are hidden factions, short chains, machete quests; layers upon layers of them. As well as random encounters, timed events, and just generally lots of little quests that have a chance to trigger others things. Do you have to try and do all of it? I say no. Just keep doing your thing. The game gives you plenty of options on who to be and makes it easy to RP the result.
Imo I would play through the campaign, all the way through NG+10, and then in 10 or so go and 100% the game. This way you have your best benefits from NG+ and can settle down into a more permanent game.
Have played for a week now, literally haven't touched the main story yet. NG+ should be like you would keep the perk points but get reset to lvl 1 again. Levels doesn't matter because nothing has a level cap, it just slows down an insane amount when you reach like lvl 30.
he didn’t tell you because it’s major spoilers but since u wanna know i’ll tell you. again SPOILERS!!! okay so once u activate the unity and go into it u become a star born in another universe. once u wake up in an alternate universe ur goal is to build the armilarry again and advance ur powers to level 2 and so on. u get a star born ship as well as a starborn space suit which upgrades in stats and looks everytime u enter the unity again. i’ve seen some alternate changes regarding the lodge and some of them are very interesting but as i am on ng+1 i have yet to see those differences myself so i do not know the extent of these changes
I’m rushing main the campaign, I been spending so much time exploring and building stuff ect to at end all been deleted..😮 Im now I rushing the main story and in N+ I take my time and stay there and never finish the campaign ..
Don't listen to him! Rush the NG+, upgrade your powers to level 10 and ONLY after you've done that you can throughly enjoy Starfield and explore whatever you want. After that point nobody will take your credits/weapons/ships/outposts from you!
As a single player game with no competitive edge. NG+ isn't a big deal at all to me the game is easy as is even on Very Hard which is what I'm playing on right now. To rush my enjoyment and become essentially burnt out on a game I'm loving so much right now only to be a god in a single player game just makes ZERO sense to me.
Ignore him. NG+ you lose EVERYTHING. So rush through the campaign to get NG+ I have done every combination. Inmediately regretted not rushing through with new character because now I am attached to my ships and outposts before Starborn.
I think it really comes down to if being Starborn is important to you and how far you want to take your Starborn powers. I agree though that the attachment to the ships and outposts can make going to NG+ a really tough decision!
@Joystick_Gamer All I can say is that playing through after NG+10 is great. No fear of losing all the stuff you've gained and doing every side quest. Annoying missions are completed faster and rhe Starborn dialogue options are cool. Also the powers come in soooooo handy when playing on the hardest difficult. Particularly the shield. Although I should use the others more than I have. All I know is that when it comes to the unity, I get to turn around and instead go exploring and do mission board and Starstation resource missions with my Mrs. Andrea! 😂
My only thought is that the game can feel like a slog of a grind with only one skill point per level. It's hard to earn XP if you're not doing missions. And if you do missions, you're advancing the story.
I agree that the main missions give you the biggest jump in XP gains. I've found the faction side missions provide a lot of good XP for completing the missions and XP you accumulate during the missions if you're wanting to do something different from the main story!
Keeping two saves really is feeling like the move. Give yourself the best of both worlds depending on the mood you're in! Just don't accidentally save over one of them 😂 Im with you on getting the console mods! I was pleasantly surprised to hear they wanted to support the console modding just as much as PC
1000%!! I wanted to make that clear in the beginning portion because this game really does let you create your own narratives and adventures! Have you been enjoying it so far?
Absolute facts! I havent experienced a game with this much to do while having depth to all of it! Its so easy to get distracted and fall down fun rabbit holes that seem to always catch you by surprise. I personally wanted to rush NG+ to see what its all about, but I'm with you on enjoying all the other stuff and finding so much to do! What's been your favorite thing to do so far?
Totally understandable! I think if you don’t plan on doing all 10 new game plus stages then it’s not worth it. What’s been your favorite part of Starfield so far?
Its tough because the allurement of new game plus is directly tied to the story and I'd feel awful spoiling the ending this early into the game's release. There's essentially things your character can do in new game + that you can't in your first playthrough. But it comes at the cost of you character losing everything but your skill tree progression. So I think making that choice to leave it all behind can be tough if you've gotten too invested in alot of things outside the main campaign.
Have you played Starfield yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Everyone should do Ryujin since you dont lose the manipulation for NG+ since it is a skill.
Ohhh snap! I'm writing that down in the note app for future use thats a clutch tip, thank you 🙌
Do you get +1 manipulation every time you complete it?
If you like being OP and special, rush the main quest and then NG+ ten times (picking up all the powers each time for upgrades) for the maxed out Venator. I definitely don’t wanna rush this game, having so much fun meeting different NPCs and exploring 😊
based im taking my time idc

I thought I was going to rush it but I ended up mucking around doing side missions. Spent days modifying my ships. Good times no regret.
Maybe a vid on why go to new game plus, IF you have ships and outposts. Xp benefit? Better gear? Or is it to keep leveling?

Really enjoyed this video - don’t like many game RUclipsrs but this hits the right stride for me.
Subbed 🤘👑

I feel like keeping your skill tree would make you over powered the 2nd time around. Do enemies get stronger?
The enemies do scale with your level, and the leaders/boss-like enemies definitely pack a punch!

In new game plus, do you have to keep your traits or can you select new different traits?
What system is it for
Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Gamepass Cloud if you want to go the streaming route! Thanks for checking out the video 🙌
The best way to play Starfield is however you want
1000%!! I wanted to make that clear in the beginning portion because this game really does let you create your own narratives and adventures! Have you been enjoying it so far?
I'm rushing new game+ 10 times because i want venator
NG+ is pointless in a single player game. Change my mind.
Why rushing?
Played for 28 hours now and didn't touch the campaign since The Old Neighbourhood.
There is sooooo much to do to enjoy.
Absolute facts! I havent experienced a game with this much to do while having depth to all of it! Nothing in this video makes any sense if you don't explain what new game plus is

This is good insight! 🫡
I appreciate it and thanks for watching 🙌
