At the end of the day, play the way you enjoy it! But I want to CAUTION you against cheating yourself out of more time enjoying Starfield. Shortcuts may feel good in the moment, but you run the risk of running out of meaningful things to do VERY quickly when you do that. I want you to get the full Starfield experience.
Love that your actually unlocking the secrets of the game as opposed to people rushing the game and writing it off as bad (just earned another sub mate :) )
I wanted to complete the campaign first, and after that I've chosen to do as many new side quests. It's all a gun experience still.
I get to enjoy a lot more now that I know how the main quest goes. Either way you fo it is fun. :)
Level 200+ been a blast so far. The exception being the NG temple farm to get powers, which is boring as hell. Probably go all out with outposts and ship building after that. It's SP so I'm not expecting years of entertainment, but something brief can still be amazing.
You could say ng+ is actualy for speedrunning thru. You can get a lot of powers and you keep your levels. I did a 50h playthru just enjoying and exploring a bit. But after that i started grinding ng+ so that in a few months i can have a clean and a godmode save to play on whenever i want and do whatever i want
There's no wrong way to play the game.
Its their story. What I eat don't make you shit. So why bother by how I eat my food?
🙄🙄🙄
Just spent 6hrs playing the game today and I’m not sure what I really did apart from get a couple of skill points and absolutely loved it. This is a no stress game.
It's good to see a 1 game RUclipsr branching out and succeeding. Good job TV in happy for you.
The wild thing about this game is, I don't feel that there's a "grind" to warrant needing to speed progression. I completely feel wrapped up in the story and want to allow things to go naturally and at a steady but not fast pace. There's enjoyment with going to a location, checking every room for gear and items, and just seeing the levels pass by just by playing normally. With other RPG's there's this need to find the highest quality, but here, I sometimes will go with a weapon of a lower quality vs a legendary weapon and have more fun and better results. Really though, rushing through this game will just burn you out and leave you bored because the actual story and adventure was lost by trying to get to the end as fast as possible.
Awesome post 😊
Freestar Ranger quest line was almost the first thing I did. I just beat it. It was much harder than I thought it would be but it led to epic firefights. It actually felt rewarding completing it. The struggle was real though.
I've always loved your content and now that I'm playing Starfield I think your style fits the game perfectly. It might be hard but keep doing it!
thanks so much for the support!
We all remember Skyrim so fondly because we had those adventures on our own. Our "exploits" were our friend telling us about some insane quest he went on and the great loot he found.
These same people will be complaining in 2 months there’s nothing to do in game or it’s to easy. I’m level 18 with 49 hours in the game and barely touched main mission yet.
forreal who would rush thi beautiful big game for explores real explores and just want to fly by it just to have one new faction and game plus + 9 or 10 just to have max power by then if you would have took your time you could have aalready mxed out your stuff and enjoy everything the game has to offer for rushers they will be bored with the story by then cause they flew by it and ruined it and will not want to do alot anymore cause they have been doing it for 9 game + now and side quest wont feel the same cause you have already been doing this over and by rushing and not enjoying yourself for real explores cause like me would have spent hours and hours in the gme do side mission faction mission random missons going to almost every planet building and enjoying their outpost and finally would go beat the mian quest ranked up and fun asf aand then get new game plus and beat the new faction now thats how to play starfield a next gen game
And soooooo many planets to check out!
I love this experience of an RPG!
I picked the „kids stuff“ trait with „born in the UC“ and the one for bonus on land but negative effect in space with an „Industriallist“ background. Striving to make money to support my parents in the UC I tried to climb the corporate ladder. After learning, that without shady practices you can’t make it to the top in any economy and ultimately failing to adapt, I had to refocus my life - and what better way than to join the vanguard?
Just like you can drain an entire bottle of whiskey in one go, you can do that same with starfield.
Doesn't mean it is the only way to do it. Been taking it slow myself and sipping at this masterfully created experience.
Thanks for being a sane voice in a "rush the end" gaming world.
Just came across your channel, but you are so right on this. Play the game your way, take your time and as long as you’re having fun that’s all that matters. I’ve got over 300+ hours in and barely half way thru main story since I’m playing the game like a sandbox. I’m not rich, but got enough money at lvl 56 as I haven’t been paying any real attention to main story just doing whatever I want. And I’m having fun and not burned out. I got all the advance weaponry already and not at NG+, nor am I over halfway done with main story having only collected just 1 artifact power. I simply took a detour at that point in story to roam and do whatever I felt like doing playing the game. Enjoying exploring and wiping facilities clean of pirates. Eventually I’ll get back on track and go get that 2nd artifact power. But just take your time and enjoy the game. A lot of RUclipsrs just wanna rush the game and content so they can be off to covering hype for the next game on the block making video content.
I'm considering laying down my NG+ save and starting completely fresh without the intent to do NG+ and just explore the entire game world without worrying about rushing the main quest except for picking up the powers, which are rather nifty at least.
100% should mate the faction storylines are basically campaigns on their own
@Momonga4358 and that bloody Ryujin chain!!! Hated it but had a heap of fun doing them 😁
I love how you full send on the rpg aspect of games, TV. Thanks for all the content!
I played my first run through till NG+4 (took about 140hrs) and then restarted a new game to try something new out. I'm surveying every planet/moon before doing any quests beyond just getting to Constellation. I play with about 120 mods some of which influence leveling (getting 2x the norm on average). So far after surveying everything on the star map left of Akila's star system I'm at level 79. Some highly recommended mods (AI smarter combat, Double Enemy numbers, More immersive landings, docking, traveling, increase legendary drop rate, increase scanning distance), all make the game a lot more fun. So, it will be awhile before I reach NG+ on this replay.
The NG plus system is actually an integral part of the game. The “end” of the game is not your first play through….unless you decide that your character is not interested in seeing things through further. When they said it’s made to play for years…they meant it. Don’t rush…take your time. Play a bit, and take a break…just allow your character’s story to progress naturally.
I just beat the MQ tonight after about 80h. Made a save right before so I can continue without losing my stuff. Did a lot of outpost stuff and I DID use farms for xp and sold the products for credits. I used no exploits or glitches, just optimized efficiency with extraction and storage. The mechanics are there to use, after all.
I “rushed” through the MQ without completing any other quest line BECAUSE it was so compelling. I became very invested in the MQ and finding out the answers to life’s biggest questions. What a fun ride.
HOWEVER. At this point I wish I had IGNORED the main quest from the very beginning because I feel like I just watched the last season finale of my favorite TV show. I’m torn on a whole reset even though I think story wise it was EXCEPTIONALLY well done. Absolutely one of my favorite campaigns from any game ever.
Exactly my approach from the get-go...Pretty sure I was one of your first 100 subs, and have watched you grow for almost 10 years now. Keep on keepin' on TV. You rock!
The reset is pretty cool for RP purposes too since it doesn't make sense for my ex mercenary character to be level 1. It's a nice feature
I agree with you! I did everything I could before going into the Unity! SPOILERS - I am now in my fourth universe & I joined the UC! I fast tracked universe 2 because that is always Covenant 2.0 & got the artifacts! Universe 3 was evil Cora Coe so I fast tracked again! I am doing all new choices & playing a good UC soldier! Each universe will be for a different faction! Next will be the Freestar Collective!
Haven’t started playing the game yet, but I’m always down for a TV video. Hope you are enjoying yourself and the channel is supporting your family. Keep it up!
I did 200 hr first play through but I purposely didn’t join Ryujin or Free star rangers so I’d have something new to do in NG+. The reason I ended up doing NG+ was by 200hours no exploits I already had the best weapons, suits & That much money it felt pointless doing anything more in the first Universe. Plus I never used Powers in first play through, I was roleplaying as a Rogue Mercenary Turned Bounty Hunter who’s primary weapons were Hard Target Sniper Rifle & Advanced Urban Eagle Pistol. Now I’m Starborn I’m all about Varuun Inflictors, Heavy weapons & nonestop using powers. It feels like a different game
I personally like taking it really slow and take my time exploring looting and doing the random little side quests. I would have missed cool stuff like making an AI friend by saving her from someone wanting to shut her down. I am currently making an outpost for every type of element so I have somewhere to place all my unique elements and somewhere to mine all the unique elements. It is very satisfying goin to 100 different planets, choosing exactly which spot is most lucrative from space, and then building an outpost either on top of a mountain or inside of a thick forest. Never really understood the fast tracking methods since you get soooo much xp and credits from just playing sidequests and doing bounties.
I agree. I do the same, but with Starfield, you should do this after completing NG+ 10 times!
@@AstristulWhy To Get That Armor & Ship Thats All You Get & Random Universes 😅Im Sorry But I Barely Know The First Universe. Why Yall Wanna Be God Tier Off Rip To Enjoy The Games Entirety? 🤷🏾♂️
@@PMKru it's not a must, of course. Everyone has its own playing style.
Stoked I can go back and watch your starfield videos now, I avoided them until the game came out and now I can play it I’ll go back through and watch all of them (I didn’t want to get the preorder when I have game pass) so far this and the ship one has been super helpful.
Roleplayers vs Minimaxers is the distinction being argued. If you don't like RPGing, rushing NG+ is no issue, but you definitely won't notice the fantastic RP element Bethesda uses in the game for NG+. Also, this isn't a shooter, so minimaxers will find Starfield wanting in the things that bring them joy (being overpowered).
You know what it reminds me off? The people at school who would skim through the Fighting Fantasy books to find the section that took you to the last page and then saying they’d ‘won the book’. Like where is your understanding of leisure dude.
So true. I’m enjoying the game so much that I don’t want to advance the main storyline quickly because I don’t want stuff to end
I’ve play it for over 400+ hours now, and have just took my first character into NG+
Agree 100% with the video, but want to point out that there is additional content after NG+ that is not in the base game. Just something to remember. It isn't only for trying new factions and paths.
This is what i was kind if thinking of doing. Getting main quest done. And start my real playthrough on ng+
@@doakesanddraxthat’s what i did, just chilling on NG+ 1 no need to rush to 10 and ruin the game
Greatest advice!! This video deserves 1 million views
Best way if you want do ng+ is play ten times and them start side quests and if you really want a new beginning just do a ng+11 . Thats if you want to see all alternative seeds universe and the senator armor and of course level 10 powers
I did the super cheese method and took the op space suit at the beginning only to put it back an hour later. The game is a better experience without all the cheese and glitch methods
Came here for Starfield, but can't stop looking at the whiskey shelf! Some great bottles up there!
Haha well if you're interested I actually have a whiskey channel where I review whiskeys and talk about whiskey history too! It's called Dramguard: www.youtube.com/@dramguard
I love how you described my “Arms Dealer” roleplay haha.
I agree, play how you want however, I think you are spot on. I found myself running around trying to craft a ridiculous amount until I realized I wasnt actually having fun and exploring the world of the game. I started doing quest and it changed my outlook on the game. Its been a better experience
I like the idea of ng+ don’t like how they executed it. I think you should have a choice of keeping everything or losing everything except level/skills. Spending 100+ hours farming and looting, upgrading my ship, etc just to lose it all just isn’t appealing to me. (Granted I don’t have the time to play games like I used to and this is all MY opinion) I’d just rather start a new character if I wanted to do things differently. Similar to how I played Skyrim for probably 1000+ hours again and again over the different consoles.
100% on the rpg element, I think I got the most out of Cyberpunk by playing a role/character and only picking specifics that fit. When I replayed it it felt very different with completely different skill set.
Finished first run through last night and didn’t really know what happens after walking through Unity. Amazing surprise but this video just convinced me to go to the save and walk back to my reality! I did very few side quests etc. Great point about being able to play the game different on the New Game +
Yes this is like getting a new series of books, really enjoying it and then googling the ending. I do find like some of these tactics eg for levelling a great when you're just about to hit the next level and get skill points before next big part of a quest.
Well said. I think people sometimes play games for the social media cred and forget to experience the game and have fun.
I wont finish game until I got all the skills. Am just XP FARMING. I want 2 be OP when I play the story and all the early side quests. U can XP farm using the outposts. GAME is so much fun regardless. Just play it your way. Do u...
I wish we could start NG+ with a re-roll of traits as an option.
well said. look forward to more videos like this where you share your thoughts and philosophy. very refreshing point of view :)
I did the same exact thing. Luckily i saved right before walking into unity. Played NG+ for a little bit and felt down and depressed. So i went back n im still in first game.
Vanguard speaks True....now it makes sense. 😊 totally agree, just want to live inside the game. Keep up the content, cause I trust there is no BS.
I could have never made it through this game when it first came out. So many unexplained things I’m glad I didn’t get it until Christmas so I can google certain functions or things about the game that are unexplained or I don’t understand that keep me from progressing
I honestly smirk when I see those videos/topics. I've been enjoying just jumping from planet to planet and exploring/surveying. Bethesda did well in rewarding that style of play with scads of emergent gameplay. I hope that they add even more options for the procedural generation engine to use with each DLC that they release. Best part of the game.
Agreed. I've watched these videos, but decided to just run through the game organically and discover and make mistakes or advance on my own. Thanks for bringing this back to fun and not that grind.
I hate that I now have to start choosing which videos of yours I watch, and you sum a lot of it in this one. I love your content, but I can't watch certain how to guides until I get there/find it out. Though I have watched many and have been a heads up. Keep it going TV, be warm and well fed my friend
Thanks for this. I am bad at trying to "maximize" things so trying to adopt your attitude here.
I can not understand the negativity about NG+ . Save the game before do the last quest and you can explore anything. I wanted to see what NG+ has. And in my first NG+ i got all 24 powers, which i didn't get in the normal game. You can enjoy both and in NG+ you can still do any fractions quest and any other sidequests
I know changing your content can be nerve wracking, but I’ve been truly enjoying your starfield coverage. Props for doing what makes you happy. Looking forward to following this content and when you inevitably return to destiny content I’ll be there too 👍 keep it up my guy.
What do you mean out level? The gear and weapons do not have levels. If you find an advanced legendary early, it doesn't get worse over time
Yeah have fun your first run don’t worry about ship building and outpost. Do all the faction and main quests first. Beat the game a few times then get into huge base and ship building after you enjoyed all the lore
I couldn’t agree more. This isn’t Destiny, there’s no need to find exploits to finish the game faster, it’s not a grind. With that said the whole building outpost thing does feel grindy, but if that’s not your thing don’t do it. I think there’s also the RUclipsr aspect of this where videos need to be made to gain views and these exploit vids are more about that than anything. Everyday there’s new videos about the same exploits. Just play the game as you want and enjoy it. It’s not a race, there’s no “world’s first” Starfield belt waiting for anyone.
I knew this was a starfield video, but oh boy! That sign off caught me off guard 😂😂
I had no idea you were a bourbon aficionado. Some nice items on that shelf. 🥃
I agree 💯 with you, I don't use mods, or exploits. Just feels like I am ruining my experience. Same reason I do not "cheese" in Destiny when they are found.
I made a bald headed Varuun Zealot and just being chaotic evil and honestly it’s really fun when you do some faction quests to have that different outcomes. Pretty much I am Wanted all the time.
I rushed the game and never built anything for new game plus thinking i could start again then do side quests and start building lol thank god for reverts
It just doesn't logically make any sense to NOT rush new game+. When you're going to have your entire world reset and all progress you've made (save for powers, level, skills) erased, you might as well burn through the main story, do the New Game+ shortened quest 9 more times and unlock all the ultimate rewards and THEN start the story again from scratch, and open up the world again.
I love this point. Thanks for the reminder. I think I will slow down a bit and do as you advised.
i agree completely
i still suggest to do the mantis early on after a few main quests for the ship with a shielded storage.
Nearly 10 minutes of TV teaching people how to play a roleplaying game. Lol. I enjoyed the video, I definitely don't understand the urge to rush or have the best gear in a single player RPG. Constellation was made for explorers and I'm going to explore, if it takes 300 hours+ I am going to take my time discovering everything I can. Rushing to "endgame" makes zero sense, but as always gamers will optimize themselves out of their own fun.
I mainly exploited some cash so I’m not having to worry about having a little extra on me anymore
Enjoy it they kinda gave you prestiging in that you can just start over in a different universe after you beat the main story
I would of just focused on the main quest if i was a kid as i would beat games in a day or two but as i got older i just took it slow and focused more on side quest and exploring
The game has been alot of fun.. will thoroughly enjoy my first playthrough before deciding to do NG+.
Dude I thought the same thing seeing all these exploit videos. Like, you're ruining your playthrough. I made Han Solo and it's been fun as hell playing with that "space scoundrel" approach to everything.
Long story short, rush the campaign, upgrade all the 24 powers to level 10 (or the powers you need) using NG+ and only after that you can enjoy the game as you should. The first playthrough will take you 2 days of playing, but the next ones will pass pretty fast, if you'll choose to skip the main quest, when you return at the Lodge!
Totally agree! Been having heaps of fun just running around doing stuff 😊
All these exploiters should go back to GTA or WoW.
Definitely agree. If you’re not interested in NG+ then just take your time and enjoy this beautiful game at your own pace.
However, if you’re interested in going NG+10, or even 10+, then I would HIGHLY recommend NOT going hard on the first play through. You’ll waste an insane amount of time. If you want NG+, burn through the first play through and THEN settle in and explore, do all of the side quests, and really take your time with the main quest.
But the number one tip is to play YOUR way. What’s your play style? What’s your time commitment? Are you a casual player or hardcore? No matter what play it your way.
My character is leaning heavily into the background of bounty hunter, though definitely with a Hans Solo scoundrel lean to it. I want for my character to be a bad ass pilot and for the bad guys to quake in their boots when they show up. Accordingly I used the simulator to get a lot of piloting experience both for my pilot skill and such, but also for myself as well. "I" learned to pilot in the simulator while leveling up my character's ship flying/fighting skills. Then I want for the Mantis quest to get Razorleaf, which has all sorts of "I'm terrified" pirate scripting associate with it (plus it has a pair of some of the best engines in the game for a class A ship). I modded and beefed up that ship so that I really could be worthy of the reaction I get from pirates. This fulfills my RP fantasy far more than getting my ass handed to me.
Number 1 video right here! Spot on. 99% of people are rushing playing GRAND THEFT SPACECRAFT Starfield.
Can you make a hard save for each universe right before going to the next “New Game Plus “?😊
The only way to do what you say in the end is create a new character.
I disagree with the out leveling legendary gear. Most of my legendary gear I've accumulated has stuck with me most of the game.
It's so dumb where we live in this age in gaming where people buy games just to go online and have the Internet tell them how to play the game🤦♂️😂
Lovely to see you branch out and enjoy other games man
I wish Bethesda approached these exploits like CD Projeckt did.
I kind of got caught up in the main quest ("issues" with the game aside, the writing is top notch and really pulls you in) and am now on my first new game plus; I intend to stay on this one until I get bored of what I've done. Then I move on to the next NG+ and maybe do things different. Who knows?
Finally a yter that understands this is a single player experience, farming for shit is sooooo pointless, getting the OP armour is pointless, doing hard to very easy for better loot is pointless just play enjoy ffs😂😂
I stay like 25 hours in just doing a chill main story play, then i start ng+ I'm gonna do 9 ng+ and then do the side quests and lastly the main story again. But is pretty boring do the 9ng+
I took my time kind of on my first run didn’t do every side quest but quite a few, 20+ hrs worth before I ng+ it, now I didn’t do all side quests because I wanted some mystery and new stuff to do in my 2nd run as well, and so far that’s working out pretty well.
Always love your Destiny vids, look forward to you branching out especially with Starfield.
Spot on. It's a ROLEPLAYING game, not destiny or halo. You're not beating the game, you're losing it.
I am a No HUD / UI type of guy… This is the way
I am thinking about just pushing through the story early on and not doing any crafting or outposts till ng +10 is that a bad game plan?? I figured most of my points I’d just invest in damage or mitigation and then in the later ng + start investing into crafting and then build my empire in 10
First off i like tour attitude on this i had just been lookin around on reddit about the NG+ on this game i was curious i had done it on a couple other games and didn’t care for it, i had got a little stuck on a quest and noticed people talking about it, kinda wish they had the option to start at level one with no skill points either lol , i mean if a NG adds new stuff to the story great I really that , but i don’t wanna start out all god like n levels and skills, i have fun earning my way sorry lol , anyway i love the game, i am almost 40th i am only about halfway thru main story which I really like and forced my self to do other stuff lol, actually had to do a certain MQ part again since I wasn’t happy with a certain outcome, which find really good and touching but I needed to change it lol, saw myself putting a lot hours in anyway l, i have cleared two factions they were alright. all subjective to tastes, and i have several so de quests done that were mostly really good, I actually kinda got ahead self probably starting Operation Starseed and thats were my first bug happened, cant get thru some doors in towards the end, anyway so much to do lol , I haven’t done many of these Activities gzzzz lol , i turned into a missions board pirate hunting .. Privateer it looks like lol , landed on way more moons than planets.. anyway i am gonna milk what i can in one life , and look forward to coming back in a year or two and start as fresh new person or see if i can stomach being a high level skilled out god mode being at the game start... peace out enjoy the journey
Apologies on the all the typos .. blind ol man on my phone
One could say it's like Sipping a bourbon versus pounding a beer... enjoy it man!
Bold of you to assume I play video games to enjoy them.
Am I the only person who doesn't care about the role-playing side of these games? I don't try to pretend that I'm playing a certain way, I just play how I want to and make the decisions that I would make in any given situation.
I play RPGs more like a sandbox than anything else, and just do whatever I want. The point of gaming is to have fun. If you like role playing then do that, if you like exploiting games then do that, etc...
First run i was a good guy helping uc vanguard and freestar. Now that im reborn im going for ryujin industries. Now idea what awaits me.
Next reborn ima be a fucking pirate with no morals.
Then a nomad and so on and on.
No rushing but the occasional level up from crafting. Which i enjoy in its own
Actually new game plus does not sound like a option , it sounds like the game forces you to , use new game plus ,if you finish the main story line. If this is true , that kinda sucks . I wish it didn't force you to reset
ng+ is optional in the end.
That's kinda what I was doing with the factions in Destiny. I wish they would've done something like this, instead of just dropping it.
Im doing new game plus now, the option at the end of the main story is awesome
Do enemy/system levels scale with NG+ cycles? I haven’t heard that answer from anyone yet. If they scale that’s enticing, if they’re level 1-10 and I’m 60…. Eh 10xp sounds lame.
I am rushing a bit trying to build the ship I would really enjoy playing.
I don't like the Frontier much. And I have to build those key skills that will allow me to create this ship.
Getting the Razor Leaf was a big move towards that ship as I am using it to build my dream ship. After that, I will slow down.
I never watcherd any videos or knew and still dont know allot about this gam eI just played it the main quest mostly and my curiousity got the better of me so I finished the main quest not fully understanding what happens and I regret it the second part imade the wrong decision so ihad to rush that main qiest through now this is the third time same character but this time I am going to play it like I should have the first time so I actually can get more of the side quest storys also develope some relationships with my compainions I think that most people do allot of games backwards they rush through and build themselvs to be all mighty and powerful which they miss out on allot of little things that add up in games its better to do the play through normally with out power leveling and enjoy the game then later on do the power leveling
"You're Playing Starfield WRONG!" because some random from internet tell that?
dont get mad rusher smh
People bum rushing to NG+10 like it’s prestige mode in COD 🤦🏾♂️
