No. I’m not even going to finish the story (a first for Bethesda) after seeing this. Why should I play the same game as a weaker character ect, when I can continue to play the game and already enjoy being somewhat powered.
So it's known that you can remove your starter traits. If you've removed your starter traits in your first run through do you get to pick new traits or do you just have no traits in new game plus?
I'm a serial restarter of games. I've restarted skyrim more times than guards got arrows in the knee. What New Game+ in Starfield does is let me have a similar new start experience while retaining the progression of my character, so I can get my serial restart fix as part of the game. It's a great middle ground.
Ditto, while I like to start anew, it still feels better if I can keep some of the progress that i've worked so hard for, like a rougelite kinda thing.
also blueprints of entire base layouts and locations so you can land back at the same location to rebuild your same old base, some spots are very good!
I haven't hit NG+ yet, but I'm planning on taking screenshots of my favorite ships in the builder, whole and taken apart, with notes of what went where, so I can basically just rebuild them. Won't be super-easy as just importing a blueprint, but better than trying to do it from memory, y'know?
I was so excited to newgame plus for the first time recently, and the feeling of losing everything actually made the lore hit harder. And I understand why the starborn are unattached to the universe they are in. I love fighting the stigma, and I'm playing every universe to its full potential, seeing all possible outcomes. Caring as long as I can untill I decide to be an awful pirate lord on my final universe 😅
I agree 100% I'm trying so hard to be a good guy until I get bored and decide to destroy the universe with the crimson fleet, but I feel like it would be unfair and kill them all on site. Nobody will live. Everybody is xp 🤷🏽♂️

Another reason to travel through the Unity is having missions that have bugged out and are not completable such as Factions missions. Traveling through the Unity will effectively reset the game, and let you try and finish these missions again. Plus you can try out different dialog options and get different reactions, you can have an Honorable playthrough and a Dishonorable Playthrough with the same character. I would recommend repeat the main quest after entering the Unity the First time.
Only reason I’m going through unity is because this game is shit and if you don’t finish quest lines from start to finish and do other stuff in between they usually break and you can’t play them if your on console

Weapons, ammunition and credits are the bottlenecks after joining a new universe. So, after first meeting with Sarah, go down there is a room with weapons and so. Then go to Viewpoint bar and make the little quest. There is also a suitcase with contraband in the security area if you do the quest. This can sell by Trade Authority. Buy some lockpicks to get MK I for the buddy.
It's clear now - if you want maximum power so go for new game plus+ 10 times: but exclude any romance, higher difficulty and mod development except casual loot until you reach maximum. This is journey for lone wanderer. When you reach maximum - go for exploring, increase difficulty , build outposts, romance and marry and so on. Make this universe your home. As say one clever guy: "first you get the job done, then you can take roots". As for me, definitely I'll take at least 2 new game plus: first will be step to starborn, however it's just travel to anothet variation of universe not the multiverse or reborn on my opinion; second will be for good starborn suit tempus if not i'll continue playing and get lvl up in new game plus until reach that suit, including "just cooperation" model, excluding starborns Hunter and Emissary. P.S. Great thanks for video.
I'm on NG10 and haven't had a single different start like the kids or plants or anything. Just the standard NG start. Didn't even know that they could change like that. Now I feel ripped off
I’ve gotten close to 700 hours in the game with several different characters and playthroughs. This time I changed up and am going all in on it. I’m at NG+5 now and the first time through I redid the main quest line to see what difference there was now I’m skipping the main quest till I get past NG+10 and will do a overpowered full playthrough of all the quests again and finally stay instead of going through the unity. The worst part is going back to new Atlantis to visit Vlad for every single temple. It’s ridiculous and sucks the life out the game totally. Just a relentless grind back and forth back and forth. Few things Bethesda screwed up entirely and that’s one of them, the other is no bed on the Guardian Ship or upgradable path forward. Missed opportunities Bethesda is well known for in their typical lack of thought in design and function within a game. Overall still enjoying the game minus the grind to NG+10. Good video btw.
You sure had a lot of time to waste, not for me,. time is precious and 1st playthrough is enough. The game isnt' good enough for multiple playthroughs without keeping your character progression in at least all your items equips and homes. Otherwise it's all for nothing some of us have 700 hours in 1st playthrough.
@@deusvlad2.083 I enjoyed it. Everyone I know has enjoyed it as well. I get some don’t and nothing wrong with that. Many games I don’t enjoy that others do. Doesn’t mean anyone is right or wrong as games like movies and music and food are subject to personal objectivity and preferences.
@@AzViking69 People have been starting to review bomb it now though, that they have played 500+ hours of it, To me it's an addictive game, that has problems, and the bugs can be game breaking which is unprofessional considering its been in develeopment for almost a decade. In other words this game has potential to be the best, but falls short of it.
@@deusvlad2.083 well honestly we are in a weird age of faux elitists and Beta boys that cry endlessly into their pillows at night over anything that isn’t exactly how they demand it. This game has been getting dragged over the coals since its launch. I have read a lot of people talking about bugs that destroy their game but I haven’t encountered that at all. A few bugs like the landing dock for outpost bug and the meteor that would follow a ship I had but all those were fixed in first or second patch for me. I went into the game knowing the history of Bethesda and their products and I had no real expectation of this being any good or different from that as all their games have gone down hill after Oblivions release with Skyrim being the ultimate in disappointment for me. Yet 13 years later I’m modding Skyrim and still playing up till this game came out. I couldn’t say that about any other game studio in my lifetime. Usually I play once and shelf it till I trade it in or the whole system goes out of date and it gets boxed up with the others I have when I switched to pc and built my own set up lol. I also heavily mod the game and now up to 197 mods and run ReShade as well. I run everything on ultra and in 2K and had not a single issue with it being unstable or having FPS getting wiped out. My last video or the one before it I show my AMD Adrenaline screen that shows I’m getting over 155 FPS and my Mod Organizer 2 set up with 156 mods at that time as well when I boot up the game you’ll see ReShade as well. Maybe that’s the difference as to why I’ve enjoyed it, because I do mod it to enhance the game more to my likes and vision.
I have to agree with this anoying grind for ng + 10. I am at ng + 7, trying to get all The temples, but there is some times i just think "ok thats enought, i dont hve time to this"

Starfield feels like you're supposed to have one main character who you constantly ng+ opposed to their older titles where you would just roll another character with a seperate backstory once you finished the run. Ng+ is a great feature with plenty of dialogue changes that is worth experiencing I just wish it's inclusion didn't harm the incentive to roleplay. Hopefully we get an update where unity works as a respec where you can keep your character as is or refund your points and rework your background and traits for the next universe.
I have 2 save files going right now. My first is my achievement hound with ships and bases and my second is just for getting skill points and experiencing ng+ depending on which character I pick at any time I get 2 completely different experiences.
@@steveeymann6374 I'm on a similar boat, after trying to RP 2 characters and not feeling it I made a dedicated planet traveler who focuses on Science and Tech. My main bounty hunter is the Ng+5 who runs around shooting, doing quests, and cycling Unity. While my Xenobiologist just ignores factions and unity trying to scan the galaxy with some podcast or music in her ear while she does it.
@admiralalyssa people don't like the game because BGS isn't holding their hand, pointing them to every secret in the game. If they'd just slow down and actually explore, there would be a lot less bitching about it.

I absolutely love Starfield. Even more than Fallout. Spent around 150 hours on it on the first playthrough and still feel like I barely scratched the exploration/building surface! Just started NG+. Everything appears the same for me but looking forward to making new decisions. Really regret siding with the Crimson Fleet the first time around!
I think the ng+ was a great idea, there are so many different alternate realities to come across and its a risk reward situation you can either keep what you have or trade it all to become stronger. The only bad thing i see in this is once you go through your 10 universe the rewards arnt that great compared to the time spent, i love that you create your own story
Nobody mentions the NG+ difficulty increase. The same level enemy at NG+10 is literally 3 times more dangerous than at NG. I like this. A lot. But some people might not, so the information would be useful for them to make their decisions.
Considering the only thing you get to keep is your skills and the weak ass powers that's pretty dumb. Especially considering all of your shit is gone so you have literally nothing to defend yourself against even the first eclipse mercs.
@@zachrohler1047 Sure, I agree with you, to a point. Going to the lodge gives you a fat stack of cash and some leveled weapons (from sarah as well as downstairs). Personally, I go buy an advanced beowulf or something immediately (the ammo is super cheap). With a decent weapon and moon form, most early zone enemies are super easy and you'll get set up in no time (especially if you've already unlocked crafting recipes, and upgrade your weapon quickly)
That is good to hear. I am playing the game one hard yet the enemies seems too easy mostly. The spaceship fights at least seems challenging so it is the most fun for me.
I personally liked it kept my skills & got an awesome onesie Set it as a favorite & it’s morphing time lol. Btw ran into the hunter on a coffee run at the very beginning of the game. We mostly talked about his suite & how most people avoid him because of if. It’s short but funny interaction.
One thing you missed is that if you're going to NG+10 or something like that, you should do the Ryujin quest line 4 times to get the free ability and its upgrades.
I just came back to the game after finishing it for the first time after release. Started a new character. My plan now is to do everything in the game the first round, go into NG+ and probably skip the main story through NG+ 5 or 6, experience the kid version once, and then once that’s done, settle into a play and just make that the universe I keep. Probably won’t do any ship building or outpost building until then.
How many times did we restart Skyrim or Fallout out of boredom, or we get to a part in the story we don't want to go through again? Bethesda's fix to this in Starfield was a pretty good idea. Hope they implement a similar solution in ES6.
Confirmed on variation chances. I got the Varuun Andreja variant on my second NG+. That was a tough fight. Weaponless against Andreja and three or four Varuun fighters.
Interesting and good video. I am working on finishing main missions to go to NG+ I was going to do story again but not go any further but now depending on how it starts I might do couple of N G+ play through then stay in one. I do not think I want to do powers again lol it is tough enough grind getting them all the first time
I couldn't get the 24th power, I know barret gives you the location but he just wouldn't give it to me. I didn't all of his side quest and we were like best friends and everything but he refused to give me the quest. And it was late game 10:11 I had no quest left to do to try and increase his affection even further. I was very annoyed that I even tried finding the temple on my own but it's impossible without a quest marker.
I finally got the the point where I can enter the Unity last night but I really don't see the point of playing through the whole game again and I really can't be bothered so I'll be giving NG+ a miss. I've quite enjoyed Starfield but instead of playing NG+ I'll just move on to another game. Maybe I'll revisit it some day in the future once there are some interesting mods which change the game significantly.
Yes you have to do NG+ or saves will corrupt. So the only things that carry over is temples, magazines and ryugen's manipulation perk. Everything else is worthless on further NG+ other than some minor dialog options to skip doing things.
The mysterious trader has bugs with them. Every time (6 exactly so far) everything that i purchased was a unique item but then later in the game at some random point they just return to a base item. There's only been 1 time that the items stayed the same through the hole game. Save your game and make note where you encounter the trader.
I'm keeping my first playthrough in one save, which obviously was a full one (level 35 as of this posting). Odd playthroughs (NG plus, NG+3, +5 etc) will be ones where I skip the main quest, and even playthoughs (NG+2, +4 etc) will be ones where I repeat the main quest. I just hope there are enough save files on console for them lol
i really was enjoying starfield just hit lvl 50 but today i learn about new game plus and how everything you did was for nothing and now i dont have the motivation to continue with the game. they really dropped the ball on this. im really happy that i only paid 1 dollar to play starfield thanks to game pass trial. i would be in hospital recovering from self inflicted stab wounds if i paid full price for this.
too bad you can't keep at least your gear and ships. I might do a NG+ anyway, just to try it, but after I do and have EVERYTHING on my first playthrough.
I've made a starborn role play character that keeps me motivated. Each new universe, I try a different faction, live a different life. The purpose is to eventually collect all the starborn dialogue from past experiences. My build is in base of reliving different lives so my first playthrough was dedicated to science and ships to give me that ng+ boost to start. Each universe I spec into different skill trees with a different focus...i.e. crimson raiders, combat and tech and deception and intimidation. The goal is to create a starborn God who inevitably becomes jaded like the hunter and eventually decides to retire from the unity and live a long and very full life knowing exactly what will happen and using it fully to my advantage.

I haven’t heard anyone talk about it but is there a new game plus that doesn’t take everything once you get to a certain point of new game does it just eventually stop taking everything from you or does it literally take everything you have every single time you do no matter how far along you are
Should be an option to totally destroy the artefacts and reject the starborn after putting them down. I feel like all dialogue is just pushing the character towards unity

I don't know i'm on NG the second time and i got a varuun rifle that is massive damage and I used it the full run and it has came back every time since. oh and how high can you get your powers? I usually quit after 3 or 4 play through's then restart. i'm wondering how far i can push this.
At least in new game plus on Starfield. You won’t always have the constellation members on board your ship but you still will be able to hire crew members that are not part of constellation
Can’t seem to get a new universe. Every time I go thru the unity it’s te same damn thing. I’ve tried the save before entering but still nothing am I holding my jaw wrong
In ng+, my mysterious captain didn't have a single legendary item, but i did end up using the unique va ruun rifle the entire play throughout. Maybe ng++ will unlock better gear.
I will at some point. Down to the little stuff. I'm probably going to hold off until mods come to console. I'll start a new game then do new game plus. Working on figuring out the outpost stuff. I miss the good Ole put a beacon out and set up supply line. It's more like a second job now 😂. To the modders out there I'd like to see a sale all option in misc, an option to not move cargo to home ship and it just stays there. Side quests for terramorph attacks maybe tied to that quest line. Space stations that work similar to settlements did. Expanded ship modules. List story line, more vender creds of course, etc... just a wish list. Games good, buuut nowhere near where it should be. Looking forward to seeing what modders can do with a base like this on console.
I guess I screwed up, Barrett got killed by the starborn, and now I cannot get that power associated with him, is there a way to get that power without going way back or starting over?
I understand we lose everything we hoarded and bought and such, but my question is, will everything we pick up start at the basic levels or go from our level? Like will I get advance guns and or possibly superior armor off the jump? I’m like lvl 70 and just barely got Andrea 😬😅
How do levels work in NG+ If I go through at level 90, lose all my stuff, do I then need to go farm on lvl 75 systems like Bohr to get any weapons that are half decent?
If like me you care about saving lin and Heller then it's worth knowing that by skipping the main story constellation will only save barrett so those two 2 will remain stranded where they are
i still dont get it:D i mean i played 248 hours for my first runtrough after release. Went to NG+ lost everything but, then how to progress? I didn't get ALL the powers, because i think you cant in the first runtrough? Also leveling all of them up to lvl10, means 10 runtroughs, but then im at NG+10 which is the limit right? But i just saw somewhere that you can infinitely do NG+ to your hearts content? until you are maxed powers and level and skills, and then "settle down"...i dont get the mechanic really:D I just want to avoid spending 248 hours again for 1 playtrough just to find out i messed up something.
Go to neon, doing the side quests there, you'll get gear and weapons and a ship. Might spend 6 or 10 hours there if you take your time but it's credits lol
Starfield needs a DLC named The Creator sending you on a journey to the creator jumping from omniverse to omniverse fighting different versions of what the “Starborn” was ment to be with different types of multiverse’s and different kinds of “Unity’s” while allowing you to become something like the emissary and build a following of “starborn” and or bring along your crew through the unity or whatever else the create to be like the unity but for the omniverse’s also letting you create a fleet that follows you around would be cool too.
Playing on XBox X. Right now just hit 101 level. Finished Revelations and Vlad is no longer giving me temples. I have all 24 Artifacts and 23 Powers. Missing Supernova. This has been a problem for people for awhile, just can't figure out why Besthesda cannot resolve this. A simple solution seems to be throw a temple on a fixed planet where you can go to complete powers when needed. Artifacts required. I want to finish a few side quests first and get better at ship hijacking in space, then I will move into NG+.
By the time I found the mysterious captain my weapons etc were already better. I think there is a serious issue with blue, purple and legendary drops not scaling with your level at the moment.
On ng+4 get to the lodge expecting everyone to be there but no cora coe all grown up and dressed as starborn said she's here to kill me for not helping her dad at the end blaming me for his death. No body else at the lodge. Took them to unity with me as I did before. Not sure how this will play after killing cora she had lots of artifacts on her and locations.
The good thing about doing the main quest again is getting more xp and I just find it easier getting side quest and activities while doing the main quest.

You only get the location of all of the temples from Vladimir after you finish the final fight of the game just don't go to the unity right after you get all artifacts go to Vladimir and he will give you the rest of the temples one at a time so you gotta keep seeing him after each temple till you get them all and then on ng+ you upgrade them by getting them again.
My NG+ seems exactly like the previous play through so far, no real story changes. Gave up trying to find all the powers in my first game, stopped getting any hints or tips as to where they were.
Vladimir gives you the location of all of the rest of the powers after you fight the hunter and emissary just don't build the armallary yet once you have all artifacts and then go see Vladimir again.
The first thing you should do before going to the Lodge is find some good weapons. Either land on Vectera and grab that pistol or go to The Well, use the Manipulation skill on Antonio, and ask him to fuck off somewhere far from his shop. And then proceed to steal all his guns and ammo. I say this because some NG+ universes have combat at the Lodge. You really don’t want to go there with your knuckles trust me lmfao
I'd assume so, since they're literally levels. It would make no sense to be level 80, go through the unity and lose unspent points to only have the skills of level 75.
Thanks for the info, it's pointless doing NEW GAME+ what a waste of opportunity if they carried over everything I'd do it 6x. I also got the starborn ship before new game + so I'm good, I actually don't like the starborn armor and think that you can setup better armor as starborn is a suit and stuck with helmet, backpack, helm etc.. Also you can uprade powers without re-doing the artifacts, I found artifact hunting the worst thing in the game, so annoying lol So in my opinion I don't think it's worth going into NEW Game + What with so many other cool games coming out not enough time for this one losing all your stuff. The only time I'd recommend new game + is if you know everything on first playthrough, then you can speed through story and skip everything 6x over then on the final starborn new game+ then keep that forever and go through everything. The glitches in the game however may break your save so this is another reason why I personally never bothered with new game + as the new game+ has more glitches t han the 1st playthrough lol.
I played the main game to level 122 and after the final fight to get the artifacts the Starborn kept following me to ever planet I landed on and ended up getting missing powers for the glitched temple quests etc that way so went from 21 to 24 and all of them are level 5 or higher already as I spend a lot of time just surveying planets so they could follow me once I realized killing some of them was upgrading my powers lol. Non of the powers went to X though only to IX on a few. Great video though look a lot of watching all these videos from peeps ahead of me, keep it up.
I swear losing all your gear is the DUMBEST thing ever. They should've given you an option or trade-off to do so. I had like 150hrs in to get to level 72 and I really don't wanna get onto ng+ and lose everything. I only had 2 starborn powers when I went into the unity so I'm not sure if I should continue getting the starborn powers in my 1st game or what. And advice would be great!
Have started several new games, but get Bored having to do everything all over again but NO MORE as it just drains the will to live, it is like reading the same book day after day forever....
@norzza or just have a vendor thats starborn that sells the suits like the mysterious captain sells the guns. Cuz I'm gonna be honest the new game +10 spacesuit I really don't like in terms of looks
Research knowledge is retained. So it's helpful, IMO, to rush Research Methods on your first playthrough and complete the research lines. The skill remains useful in NG+ since it reduces the materials required for crafting and equipment modding by 60%.
I have 3 powers left to find but Vlad has stopped telling me where to find temples and there's the parallel self o poser that I don't know how to get because Barret died. I guess the only way for me to find these last few powers is that I have to go I every single planet, like actually land one every planet till I find a signal /temple that I haven't been to
That's a bug that tells you that you still have undiscovered temples even though you don't. There's 24 temples you need to visit, so if you have 24 powers than you have them all
“Decent ship” that guardian ship is trash in NG+1 I immediately switched to the frontier and went hunting for another ship. Finally found a ecliptic claymore and was able to grab jump all the way to the mantis hideout then got the razor leaf. I’m doing the vanguard quest but I’m definitely doing the Freestar quest line next so I can get the ship.
Did you know you don't even have to go to the stupid Lodge to actually start this game you can just go and do all your fractions earn all your money and on top of it get that the Crimson loot cash ahead of time and completely started I'm in the first round of New Game Plus and I haven't even been to the stupid Lodge completely skipped it

I'm very regret to be starborn. My all new missions are gone and the game is restarted. That's why I deleted game.
I wish we at least could save blueprints of the ships we have build and once we have enough money we just load the blueprint and restore our stuff.

You can also rename your character at any enhance store and this creates a separate file for saves

I would recommend repeat the main quest after entering the Unity the First time.

I like the Hornet's Nest option for shotguns. At NG+, it's pretty easy to build another one and then boom boom through the game. So satisfying.
Very helpful video. I've had to accept 'spoilers' in order to be properly informed. For me, my first character will not NG+, I will make new character to do a "god ascension" run.

I rp my char as a god in ng+. It never gets old, I tell you this. Its just a matter of imagination and creating your own story.
Weapons, ammunition and credits are the bottlenecks after joining a new universe. So, after first meeting with Sarah, go down there is a room with weapons and so. Then go to Viewpoint bar and make the little quest. There is also a suitcase with contraband in the security area if you do the quest. This can sell by Trade Authority. Buy some lockpicks to get MK I for the buddy.
It's clear now - if you want maximum power so go for new game plus+ 10 times: but exclude any romance, higher difficulty and mod development except casual loot until you reach maximum. This is journey for lone wanderer.
When you reach maximum - go for exploring, increase difficulty , build outposts, romance and marry and so on. Make this universe your home.
As say one clever guy: "first you get the job done, then you can take roots".
As for me, definitely I'll take at least 2 new game plus: first will be step to starborn, however it's just travel to anothet variation of universe not the multiverse or reborn on my opinion; second will be for good starborn suit tempus if not i'll continue playing and get lvl up in new game plus until reach that suit, including "just cooperation" model, excluding starborns Hunter and Emissary.

I'm on NG10 and haven't had a single different start like the kids or plants or anything. Just the standard NG start. Didn't even know that they could change like that. Now I feel ripped off

I’ve gotten close to 700 hours in the game with several different characters and playthroughs. This time I changed up and am going all in on it. I’m at NG+5 now and the first time through I redid the main quest line to see what difference there was now I’m skipping the main quest till I get past NG+10 and will do a overpowered full playthrough of all the quests again and finally stay instead of going through the unity. The worst part is going back to new Atlantis to visit Vlad for every single temple. It’s ridiculous and sucks the life out the game totally. Just a relentless grind back and forth back and forth. Few things Bethesda screwed up entirely and that’s one of them, the other is no bed on the Guardian Ship or upgradable path forward. Missed opportunities Bethesda is well known for in their typical lack of thought in design and function within a game. Overall still enjoying the game minus the grind to NG+10. Good video btw.
You sure had a lot of time to waste, not for me,. time is precious and 1st playthrough is enough. The game isnt' good enough for multiple playthroughs without keeping your character progression in at least all your items equips and homes. Otherwise it's all for nothing some of us have 700 hours in 1st playthrough.

@@deusvlad2.083 well honestly we are in a weird age of faux elitists and Beta boys that cry endlessly into their pillows at night over anything that isn’t exactly how they demand it. This game has been getting dragged over the coals since its launch. I have read a lot of people talking about bugs that destroy their game but I haven’t encountered that at all. A few bugs like the landing dock for outpost bug and the meteor that would follow a ship I had but all those were fixed in first or second patch for me. I went into the game knowing the history of Bethesda and their products and I had no real expectation of this being any good or different from that as all their games have gone down hill after Oblivions release with Skyrim being the ultimate in disappointment for me. Yet 13 years later I’m modding Skyrim and still playing up till this game came out. I couldn’t say that about any other game studio in my lifetime. Usually I play once and shelf it till I trade it in or the whole system goes out of date and it gets boxed up with the others I have when I switched to pc and built my own set up lol. I also heavily mod the game and now up to 197 mods and run ReShade as well. I run everything on ultra and in 2K and had not a single issue with it being unstable or having FPS getting wiped out. My last video or the one before it I show my AMD Adrenaline screen that shows I’m getting over 155 FPS and my Mod Organizer 2 set up with 156 mods at that time as well when I boot up the game you’ll see ReShade as well. Maybe that’s the difference as to why I’ve enjoyed it, because I do mod it to enhance the game more to my likes and vision.
I have to agree with this anoying grind for ng + 10. I am at ng + 7, trying to get all The temples, but there is some times i just think "ok thats enought, i dont hve time to this"

Starfield feels like you're supposed to have one main character who you constantly ng+ opposed to their older titles where you would just roll another character with a seperate backstory once you finished the run. Ng+ is a great feature with plenty of dialogue changes that is worth experiencing I just wish it's inclusion didn't harm the incentive to roleplay. Hopefully we get an update where unity works as a respec where you can keep your character as is or refund your points and rework your background and traits for the next universe.
I have 2 save files going right now. My first is my achievement hound with ships and bases and my second is just for getting skill points and experiencing ng+ depending on which character I pick at any time I get 2 completely different experiences.
@@steveeymann6374 I'm on a similar boat, after trying to RP 2 characters and not feeling it I made a dedicated planet traveler who focuses on Science and Tech. My main bounty hunter is the Ng+5 who runs around shooting, doing quests, and cycling Unity. While my Xenobiologist just ignores factions and unity trying to scan the galaxy with some podcast or music in her ear while she does it.
@admiralalyssa people don't like the game because BGS isn't holding their hand, pointing them to every secret in the game. If they'd just slow down and actually explore, there would be a lot less bitching about it.
@@steveeymann6374Exploring is so boring in Starfield. If you can ensure the tedium to occasionally uncover something new, all the more power to you, but I tapped out.
I absolutely love Starfield. Even more than Fallout. Spent around 150 hours on it on the first playthrough and still feel like I barely scratched the exploration/building surface! Just started NG+. Everything appears the same for me but looking forward to making new decisions. Really regret siding with the Crimson Fleet the first time around!
I think the ng+ was a great idea, there are so many different alternate realities to come across and its a risk reward situation you can either keep what you have or trade it all to become stronger. The only bad thing i see in this is once you go through your 10 universe the rewards arnt that great compared to the time spent, i love that you create your own story
Nobody mentions the NG+ difficulty increase.
The same level enemy at NG+10 is literally 3 times more dangerous than at NG.
I like this. A lot. But some people might not, so the information would be useful for them to make their decisions.
Considering the only thing you get to keep is your skills and the weak ass powers that's pretty dumb. Especially considering all of your shit is gone so you have literally nothing to defend yourself against even the first eclipse mercs.

Going to the lodge gives you a fat stack of cash and some leveled weapons (from sarah as well as downstairs).
Personally, I go buy an advanced beowulf or something immediately (the ammo is super cheap).
With a decent weapon and moon form, most early zone enemies are super easy and you'll get set up in no time (especially if you've already unlocked crafting recipes, and upgrade your weapon quickly)
That is good to hear. I am playing the game one hard yet the enemies seems too easy mostly. The spaceship fights at least seems challenging so it is the most fun for me.
I personally liked it kept my skills & got an awesome onesie Set it as a favorite & it’s morphing time lol. Btw ran into the hunter on a coffee run at the very beginning of the game. We mostly talked about his suite & how most people avoid him because of if. It’s short but funny interaction.
One thing you missed is that if you're going to NG+10 or something like that, you should do the Ryujin quest line 4 times to get the free ability and its upgrades.
I do wish there was more variation than just the initial meeting one, that would be rather amazing.
I just came back to the game after finishing it for the first time after release. Started a new character. My plan now is to do everything in the game the first round, go into NG+ and probably skip the main story through NG+ 5 or 6, experience the kid version once, and then once that’s done, settle into a play and just make that the universe I keep. Probably won’t do any ship building or outpost building until then.
How many times did we restart Skyrim or Fallout out of boredom, or we get to a part in the story we don't want to go through again? Bethesda's fix to this in Starfield was a pretty good idea. Hope they implement a similar solution in ES6.

Confirmed on variation chances. I got the Varuun Andreja variant on my second NG+. That was a tough fight. Weaponless against Andreja and three or four Varuun fighters.
I do like the game, started NG+ for like 4 hours. Started a new game. What I dont like is that you can't alteast change your traits.

I am working on finishing main missions to go to NG+ I was going to do story again but not go any further but now depending on how it starts I might do couple of N G+ play through then stay in one. I do not think I want to do powers again lol it is tough enough grind getting them all the first time
I couldn't get the 24th power, I know barret gives you the location but he just wouldn't give it to me. I didn't all of his side quest and we were like best friends and everything but he refused to give me the quest. And it was late game 10:11 I had no quest left to do to try and increase his affection even further. I was very annoyed that I even tried finding the temple on my own but it's impossible without a quest marker.
Another tip is if you save right before you go into the next universe you can reload that save to change the variation of universe

First thing I do is the GroundPounder Quest you get a great weapon at the end that carries me through until I start getting better weapons.
I finally got the the point where I can enter the Unity last night but I really don't see the point of playing through the whole game again and I really can't be bothered so I'll be giving NG+ a miss. I've quite enjoyed Starfield but instead of playing NG+ I'll just move on to another game. Maybe I'll revisit it some day in the future once there are some interesting mods which change the game significantly.
Yes you have to do NG+ or saves will corrupt. So the only things that carry over is temples, magazines and ryugen's manipulation perk. Everything else is worthless on further NG+ other than some minor dialog options to skip doing things.
The may 2024 update wil change how we go about NG+, we now become able to respec our traits on NG+👍🏻
The mysterious trader has bugs with them. Every time (6 exactly so far) everything that i purchased was a unique item but then later in the game at some random point they just return to a base item. There's only been 1 time that the items stayed the same through the hole game. Save your game and make note where you encounter the trader.
I came to the comments to post the same warning. Every legendary item I bought from them turned into a basic grey item.
I'm keeping my first playthrough in one save, which obviously was a full one (level 35 as of this posting). Odd playthroughs (NG plus, NG+3, +5 etc) will be ones where I skip the main quest, and even playthoughs (NG+2, +4 etc) will be ones where I repeat the main quest. I just hope there are enough save files on console for them lol

i really was enjoying starfield just hit lvl 50 but today i learn about new game plus and how everything you did was for nothing and now i dont have the motivation to continue with the game. they really dropped the ball on this. im really happy that i only paid 1 dollar to play starfield thanks to game pass trial. i would be in hospital recovering from self inflicted stab wounds if i paid full price for this.
You don't have to go through the Unity. You can turn around and walk away and stay in your original game.
too bad you can't keep at least your gear and ships. I might do a NG+ anyway, just to try it, but after I do and have EVERYTHING on my first playthrough.
Before you do new game plus make two backup saves before hand and then make new saves so you can go back to em.
I've made a starborn role play character that keeps me motivated. Each new universe, I try a different faction, live a different life. The purpose is to eventually collect all the starborn dialogue from past experiences. My build is in base of reliving different lives so my first playthrough was dedicated to science and ships to give me that ng+ boost to start. Each universe I spec into different skill trees with a different focus...i.e. crimson raiders, combat and tech and deception and intimidation. The goal is to create a starborn God who inevitably becomes jaded like the hunter and eventually decides to retire from the unity and live a long and very full life knowing exactly what will happen and using it fully to my advantage.

Should be an option to totally destroy the artefacts and reject the starborn after putting them down. I feel like all dialogue is just pushing the character towards unity

I don't know i'm on NG the second time and i got a varuun rifle that is massive damage and I used it the full run and it has came back every time since. oh and how high can you get your powers? I usually quit after 3 or 4 play through's then restart. i'm wondering how far i can push this.

At least in new game plus on Starfield. You won’t always have the constellation members on board your ship but you still will be able to hire crew members that are not part of constellation

In ng+, my mysterious captain didn't have a single legendary item, but i did end up using the unique va ruun rifle the entire play throughout. Maybe ng++ will unlock better gear.

I will at some point. Down to the little stuff. I'm probably going to hold off until mods come to console. I'll start a new game then do new game plus. Working on figuring out the outpost stuff. I miss the good Ole put a beacon out and set up supply line. It's more like a second job now 😂. To the modders out there I'd like to see a sale all option in misc, an option to not move cargo to home ship and it just stays there. Side quests for terramorph attacks maybe tied to that quest line. Space stations that work similar to settlements did. Expanded ship modules. List story line, more vender creds of course, etc... just a wish list. Games good, buuut nowhere near where it should be. Looking forward to seeing what modders can do with a base like this on console.

I understand we lose everything we hoarded and bought and such, but my question is, will everything we pick up start at the basic levels or go from our level? Like will I get advance guns and or possibly superior armor off the jump? I’m like lvl 70 and just barely got Andrea 😬😅

How do levels work in NG+ If I go through at level 90, lose all my stuff, do I then need to go farm on lvl 75 systems like Bohr to get any weapons that are half decent?
If like me you care about saving lin and Heller then it's worth knowing that by skipping the main story constellation will only save barrett so those two 2 will remain stranded where they are

i still dont get it:D i mean i played 248 hours for my first runtrough after release. Went to NG+ lost everything but, then how to progress? I didn't get ALL the powers, because i think you cant in the first runtrough? Also leveling all of them up to lvl10, means 10 runtroughs, but then im at NG+10 which is the limit right? But i just saw somewhere that you can infinitely do NG+ to your hearts content? until you are maxed powers and level and skills, and then "settle down"...i dont get the mechanic really:D I just want to avoid spending 248 hours again for 1 playtrough just to find out i messed up something.
Go to neon, doing the side quests there, you'll get gear and weapons and a ship. Might spend 6 or 10 hours there if you take your time but it's credits lol
Starfield needs a DLC named The Creator sending you on a journey to the creator jumping from omniverse to omniverse fighting different versions of what the “Starborn” was ment to be with different types of multiverse’s and different kinds of “Unity’s” while allowing you to become something like the emissary and build a following of “starborn” and or bring along your crew through the unity or whatever else the create to be like the unity but for the omniverse’s also letting you create a fleet that follows you around would be cool too.

Playing on XBox X. Right now just hit 101 level. Finished Revelations and Vlad is no longer giving me temples. I have all 24 Artifacts and 23 Powers. Missing Supernova. This has been a problem for people for awhile, just can't figure out why Besthesda cannot resolve this. A simple solution seems to be throw a temple on a fixed planet where you can go to complete powers when needed. Artifacts required. I want to finish a few side quests first and get better at ship hijacking in space, then I will move into NG+.
Once you do the final fight don't go to the unity go see Vladimir again that's how you trigger them all I have supernova 5 already and on ng+5
By the time I found the mysterious captain my weapons etc were already better. I think there is a serious issue with blue, purple and legendary drops not scaling with your level at the moment.
On ng+4 get to the lodge expecting everyone to be there but no cora coe all grown up and dressed as starborn said she's here to kill me for not helping her dad at the end blaming me for his death. No body else at the lodge. Took them to unity with me as I did before. Not sure how this will play after killing cora she had lots of artifacts on her and locations.
The good thing about doing the main quest again is getting more xp and I just find it easier getting side quest and activities while doing the main quest.
I wish you could alter your starborn ship and suit and like keep the alterations

I can’t get all the powers,went to ng+ got more that I didn’t have and +2 on some I had but can’t get more than like 14 or 15 on each play through
You only get the location of all of the temples from Vladimir after you finish the final fight of the game just don't go to the unity right after you get all artifacts go to Vladimir and he will give you the rest of the temples one at a time so you gotta keep seeing him after each temple till you get them all and then on ng+ you upgrade them by getting them again.

My NG+ seems exactly like the previous play through so far, no real story changes. Gave up trying to find all the powers in my first game, stopped getting any hints or tips as to where they were.
Vladimir gives you the location of all of the rest of the powers after you fight the hunter and emissary just don't build the armallary yet once you have all artifacts and then go see Vladimir again.
The first thing you should do before going to the Lodge is find some good weapons. Either land on Vectera and grab that pistol or go to The Well, use the Manipulation skill on Antonio, and ask him to fuck off somewhere far from his shop. And then proceed to steal all his guns and ammo. I say this because some NG+ universes have combat at the Lodge. You really don’t want to go there with your knuckles trust me lmfao
Just go to the lodges basement for weapons and ammo.
Where does the Starborn ship come from?
That's the big mystery that doesn't really get answered. The Unity, the Starborn suits, and the Guardian ships all come from the "creators."

I'd assume so, since they're literally levels. It would make no sense to be level 80, go through the unity and lose unspent points to only have the skills of level 75.
Thanks for the info, it's pointless doing NEW GAME+ what a waste of opportunity if they carried over everything I'd do it 6x. I also got the starborn ship before new game + so I'm good, I actually don't like the starborn armor and think that you can setup better armor as starborn is a suit and stuck with helmet, backpack, helm etc..
Also you can uprade powers without re-doing the artifacts, I found artifact hunting the worst thing in the game, so annoying lol So in my opinion I don't think it's worth going into NEW Game + What with so many other cool games coming out not enough time for this one losing all your stuff.
The only time I'd recommend new game + is if you know everything on first playthrough, then you can speed through story and skip everything 6x over then on the final starborn new game+ then keep that forever and go through everything. The glitches in the game however may break your save so this is another reason why I personally never bothered with new game + as the new game+ has more glitches t han the 1st playthrough lol.
I played the main game to level 122 and after the final fight to get the artifacts the Starborn kept following me to ever planet I landed on and ended up getting missing powers for the glitched temple quests etc that way so went from 21 to 24 and all of them are level 5 or higher already as I spend a lot of time just surveying planets so they could follow me once I realized killing some of them was upgrading my powers lol. Non of the powers went to X though only to IX on a few. Great video though look a lot of watching all these videos from peeps ahead of me, keep it up.
I swear losing all your gear is the DUMBEST thing ever. They should've given you an option or trade-off to do so. I had like 150hrs in to get to level 72 and I really don't wanna get onto ng+ and lose everything. I only had 2 starborn powers when I went into the unity so I'm not sure if I should continue getting the starborn powers in my 1st game or what. And advice would be great!
Have started several new games, but get Bored having to do everything all over again but NO MORE as it just drains the will to live, it is like reading the same book day after day forever....

you still have the research methods - just not the materials needed.
@joh1st is correct, you keep any projects you've completed but no materials.
Research knowledge is retained. So it's helpful, IMO, to rush Research Methods on your first playthrough and complete the research lines. The skill remains useful in NG+ since it reduces the materials required for crafting and equipment modding by 60%.
I think they should have let you keep your base after going to NG+
I have 3 powers left to find but Vlad has stopped telling me where to find temples and there's the parallel self o poser that I don't know how to get because Barret died. I guess the only way for me to find these last few powers is that I have to go I every single planet, like actually land one every planet till I find a signal /temple that I haven't been to
That's a bug that tells you that you still have undiscovered temples even though you don't. There's 24 temples you need to visit, so if you have 24 powers than you have them all

@@AaronHatcher In NG+ you will get that power twice to make up for it. You can do the quest with Barrett and Vlad will give it as a POI.
“Decent ship” that guardian ship is trash in NG+1 I immediately switched to the frontier and went hunting for another ship. Finally found a ecliptic claymore and was able to grab jump all the way to the mantis hideout then got the razor leaf. I’m doing the vanguard quest but I’m definitely doing the Freestar quest line next so I can get the ship.

BTW guys and girls. You can see your companion's skills on there space suit if you want to know what they're specialise in without talking to them.
Did you know you don't even have to go to the stupid Lodge to actually start this game you can just go and do all your fractions earn all your money and on top of it get that the Crimson loot cash ahead of time and completely started I'm in the first round of New Game Plus and I haven't even been to the stupid Lodge completely skipped it
