I personally have not used it with engraving yet but yes I imagine it would work, just change your operation to engrave. It can also be used with the foil transfer sheets.
Yes there are many steps! It’s often much easy to just do Print then Cut instead of fill in text with pens, but it depends on the look you’re going for.
I am trying to create the hatch fill but my square does not have a lock on the bottom left. It only has the little boxes on each corner to resize it. How would I do this procedure now? Thanks, great video!
Great question! Yes you can. Duplicate your outline layer (the original text). Make sure you make that layer a basic cut layer and then send it to the back. So you should now have 3 layers in your layer panel (the out line of the word in pen, the hatch fill in pen and your basic cut layer). Center the 3 layers tiger and attach them - then press make it!
Thank you for this - I haven’t been able to figure out a work around for when I end up with outline only switching to draw/pen. Wondering if with all the recent updates to Cricut Design Space if you have found a newer method that takes less time & ink? PS: just saw you’re in 🇨🇦 - me, too!!

I have a question, I know this was made last year so things may have changed but, can you do a print then cut, meaning use the word you chose and that same box, make the box the color you want it to be, slice out the word and delete all the unnecessary pieces and print it on printable vinyl and then cut it out. In my mind that would work but I may be missing something. I genuinely asking and not criticizing.
