I see this is from 2 years ago but I just found it!!! EXCELLENT instructions!!!
WOW. Thank you so much!! That turned out so pretty. It also helped solve my problem - I was changing the "operation" to draw, but not changing the font style to "writing" and it makes ALL the difference!! Also, thank you for the foam adhesive dots idea! It looks great!
I'm still learning how to use my Cricut, so this was very helpful!
Wow! Didn’t realize you could draw an entire card. Love it & your tutorial. Tk u for taking the tine to do thus.
Thank you so much for such a great, detailed tutorial!!! I haven’t used my pens yet, but after watching this I feel like I might almost know what I’m doing! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
You really know how to teach and explain this software in a way that software-impared people such as myself feel like they can do this!!! I've watched other channels and I feel overwhelmed but this channel makes it seem SO simple!! Thank you for that.
Perfect! I've been wondering how to do exactly what you have done! You're instruction is concise, you do a great job of explaining all the steps. This newbie just found your tutorials and am looking forward to learning more through you. Thank you very much!
Sooooo gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing this, I have a pack of Cricut pens that remain unopened because I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. Now I’m inspired. Thank you!❤️
Thank you for covering each step so carefully!! You answered a question I've had and couldn't find the answer to.... how to make the cricut draw instead of cut. Great video and beautiful card!!
Bethany, you have taught me so much because you are an excellent teacher,I Always revert back to you for all of my crafting. You so beautiful work, wish I had an imagination like yours, you put things together so much. Please don’t change😊
I'm most excited! I purchased my pens last week and was sooo wanting to do a card.. I stumbled across this video and I had sooo much fun making it as I already had the cardstock as well! I use to buy the pattern paper now I will pick up more as I'm venturing out to new projects!
I love using double-sided cardstock to make matching envelopes. When you open the envelope flap, you see the envelope is lined with either the same pattern you used on the card front, or a coordinating one. Beautiful project, as always. 🙂
Yes, the double sided envelopes are so pretty!
i Love how easy and fast this is, saves so much money on doing you own cards and it makes them a little more special bc you took the time to personalize it the way you like! I just received my Cricut joy it was gift from my husband for our anniversary and i cant wait to start making different things. Your videos are so informative and a pleasure to watch!!
I’m so happy for you and your new Cricut Joy! Thanks so much for watching my videos and I love hearing that you are learning from them!
Amazing how it tells you what color to insert. This card is so special. I make cards from using stamps. But ordered a cricut joy that is on its way. Wish now that I had paid extra $50 and got the bigger machine since it does so much more. Sometimes if I want to add dimensions on larger surface like card front, I cut 2 or 3 additional layers of cardstock & attach together. Makes cards stand up in mail better. Thank you so much for sharing.
That card came out so good! I took advantage of the card stock that was recently on sale too. Love all the different colors you were able to use.
Thank you, Liza! So glad you got some of the cardstock and took advantage of that sale!
Absolutely amazed at how talented you are. I love the tips n tricks I’ve learned from you - thanks for sharing this tutorial..!!
Thank you so much! That’s so kind and encouraging!
So helpful! There’s hardly any tutorials on how to use the pens. I love this
OMGosh THANK YOU! I'm still new to Cricut and I have all these pens, but I didn't know how to use them!! You're a great teacher and I appreciate how you make is so we can understand what you're doing! Im excited to try it now!
Thank you! I had no idea how to load the markers into the cricut. Wasn't aware that you had to press down until you heard a click. :)
Came out really pretty. I just purchased a cricut - so this was extremely helpful.
Thank you Bethany. I wondered how to use more than one colour so I am excited to give this a try.
Thank you! Other videos do not walk you through each step of the process. Your video is perfect!! Thank you again!! ❤️❤️
I really like your clear, concise teaching style. Thank you!
Thank you, I’m a Cricut newbie and this is so helpful.
Great, precise tutorial, and a lovely project.
Thank you for sharing. I just got a cricut and love learning all the things that I can do!
I am going to try and use my cricut pens I will use your video as reference. Thank you
Super great project!! Thanks for sharing, I’m a card maker. But I haven’t made full use of the pens outside of writing my sentiments. You always spark ideas.
I haven’t used the pens much either! This design just caught my eye and I simply had to see how it would turn out!!
Just trying to learn all the things to do, thank you for this demonstration you are a great teacher.

That card came out really really really really pretty
I wasn’t sure I was going to use the draw feature, but this makes me want to expand beyond the pen that came with it. This is a beautiful card!! 😍
Totally! To be honest, I felt the same way initially about the pens. Then I tried and saw how easy they were and I love using them now!
Very nicely done. Your explanations are simple for a beginner to understand and become less intimidated with the Cricut. Great job. Thank you.
Thank you so much! This tutorial was the best to show me how and I finally used my pens! Thank you!
I actually found a bunch of Cricut pens at a thrift store, some unopened! You inspire me to give them a whirl! Thanks for sharing! 😊❤️

omg….up till now..i had no idea that the pens had colour names on them 😂😂😂😂😂 ..thank you
Very pretty card
Love this idea! Also, love the floral design on your cricut machine. Do you have a tutorial video on that?
Yes!
really nice card and nice idea, thank you
So beautiful
Thank you so much!
Love the tutorial. However when I select an image to draw in design space, done of them have multiple colors. What am I missing? Dying to try this!
Hey Mrs Bethany. I know this video was made 3 years ago but I am trying to learn more and more about Cricut. What kind of paper was that Cricut paper you used? Was it hard like card stock or was it different?
Very helpful
This is a great detailed video! I’m wondering would it work the same way with vinyl?
I really love how you drew with multi colors when making a card. Is there any other images that you can use if you want to make other cards that are all ready colored? I tried to search out other images, but can not seem to find others that are all ready colored. I am not even sure if you can take an image that is black and white and make it colored. I tried, but it seems way to hard.
Thank you in advance
Great video
Bethany, what do you do for envelopes? Make your own or buy ready made ones?
Gorgeous!!! And how to do if you want to colour a full shape, not only the contours???🤓
Absolutely AMAZING tutorial! Very informative! May I ask where you got your floral mat and the materials to make your floral stickers on your Cricut, as well? I LOVE your color schemes!
Thank you very much!
Stacie in the Youngstown, Ohio area
Tyt It was it a uuuj can dupe u
OMG this is sooo pretty!! so how does the Cricut tell you which color to put in? I wanna do this!!!
The software, Cricut Design Space, will tell you which color to load and when!
I’m choosing a light N dark green what color pins could I use with that floral circle pattern that you pick
Thanks for your video! I was attempting to follow you step-by-step but each time I change the “style” to “writing” the first letter of each word drops down out of alignment with the rest of the word. It looks fine as long as I don’t change the “cut” to “style”. Would you have any idea what might be causing this? Thanks much
That is a great tutorial! Can this also be done on the Cricut Joy?
Super demo thanks. What is the image you used called in cricut?
What did you use for an envelope to match the 5 x 5?
really handy onhow to use the pens. However, how do you rate using the pens in a cricut versus just hitting print and printing it on a printer then cutting it out to add to the card? I am finding it hard to actually find a use for the pens that came with my machine!
I personally like them to draw on things like leather, chipboard, or materials you can't run through a regular printer.
May iask what about an envelope for card? Its lovely
I have watched this video over and over again. Received a cricut explore 3 for my birthday earlier this month, plus some pens. I want to use the pens, understanding that they do line art, outlining etc, but I want to put what I make onto a wood piece. My question is, what do I printing onto? Paper, vinyl etc? I’m not sure paper on wood would look okay so have been searching for ideas and cannot find what fits my idea. Please help! 😊
Hey Lovely! Another great video - I know you made it like last year, but I am catching up! I have a Cricut Joy. You think I can do the same thing with the draw option? Love your videos!!
Yes, you can do this on the Joy.
Bethany, Love your tutorial !I have a pre lined certificate that I would love to use the CRICUT Calligraphy pens to fill out. New to Cricut and can't seem to find out if its possible to do that? Can you tell me?
Thanks, T
Hi Bethany, I enjoy your channel very much! I came across this video and am just starting to dabble in cards with my Joy. I have a question and if you have a tutorial on this, please let me know. Can someone add color to a floral circle that is black and white on Cricut. I subscribe to Design Bundles and have uploaded a few files from them, but I can't seem to figure out how to add different colors to the flower petals and the green leaves so I can draw it. Maybe I'm trying to do an impossible! LOL thank you for your content!
hi! I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out when my pens outline everything twice. Not the bubble text issue, but even with writing fonts it draws over the letters twice. Does yours do this? Do you know how to fix?
Hi Beth, I loved this tutorial! Is there a search term that I can use to see other colorful images that I can use my pens on in Design Space?
You can search any keyword and then filter for "Drawing Only" to see images that work for drawing. :)
On changing the colours once you have selected one colour, cant you just click the colours sync tab beside the layers tab on top right in design space and drag colours to whatever you want. (After you have chosen one first.) It would be nice to see the screen where it tells you when to load the next pen.
Yes, after you have chosen each color once you can use the color sync tab in the layers panel.
i love this! gave me an idea to make my boyfriend an anniversary card!
Wonderful idea!
This is gorgeous! 😍 I do have a question. Let’s say I create a design in Procreate can the Cricut draw it for me with the pens? 😊
I’m not familiar with ProCreate just yet and am unsure of it’s import process for drawing files so I’m not sure!
How do you change the order that the pens print? For. example I want to print a flower with 3 colors, yellow, red and black. I want the yellow and red to print as petals, the center is black and a black outline, I want the black to print last, to outline the flower after the red and yellow have printed. I have tried to change the order in the layers panel but the black never comes out last, it comes out either first or second. Is there a way to change the order? Thanx for the help.
