I single tracked a 125 for years when I started riding figured if I could master it anywhere then a 250 would do me fine when I'm older, but now I'm older I miss the thrill of a 125 lol
I have been riding bigger bikes forever and im now 38 years old and ended up getting a 125x. Was super skeptical going that small of an engine but its too much fun!!! More fun than any 250 or 300 ive been on. I still want a 250 or 300 for when i want to be lazy but i dont want to get rid of the 125. I need it now for when i really want to ride aggressively. Its a mountainbike with a hornets nest attached.
Out of the box, this is what dirt biking is meant to be, simple, zippy and a good time! Yamaha should give you a kick back as this video makes me sold on the 125!
Let the dealer know Shift Gears Drink Beers sent you. Shout out to Mike for doing this test ride while I rode the Yamaha MX bikes on the track!
@@ShiftGearsMoto you bet I will! You should showcase Mike more! tell him thanks for the ride!
I agree man. This makes me want to just ride all day every day! So glad Yamaha keeping these simple 2-strokes in their lineup.
@@ShiftGearsMoto which one would be good for a beginner rider.
Yz125x vs yz125?
YZ125X for Enduro and YZ125 for moto.
I bought one today. I pick her up tomorrow. Can't wait to ride it!
Hello. I just saw your comment and it's been a year now since you picked up your bike. How do you like it? Any mods done?
She seems a lot more forgiving on the trails than the standard edition that's for sure
Looks like a hell of a lot of fun ✊ every one loves a 125 2 stroke
I absolutely need to spend more time on a 125.
yz125x 最高に楽しい
First off, there is no such thing as a perfect bike. But the YZ125X is pretty darn close in my opinion. The OEM hand grips are garbage and the transmission could shift smoother but everything else it does really really well. Very glad I bought this bike it is so much fun to ride!
Bad Ass thank you!
Thanks for watching 🤙
Any difference in feel from the new 2023 engine\carb?
Eh, I would say marginal. Hard to tell with limited time on the bike.
Seems quite punchy for a 125. Sounds great!
Any idea if this bike had the stock jetting when you rode it? Just picked up a 23 125x and trying to get it dialed in. The stock setup is a bit rich, this one you're riding sounds on point.
No clue, sorry. It was a demo bike but I would think they would adjust it for the location.
Make sure you check your float height.
Beautiful yz 125 2 stroke!
I actually wrecked this bike that day lol. Front brakes were 10x stronger than my rmz450.
Maybe you need new pads?
@@ShiftGearsMoto I thought so too but mine were pretty close to the yz450f and yz250. I’m way too large of a person for a 125 though (6’3”, 210 lbs). Maybe that makes a difference
@@carlcjs316 what brake components does Suzuki use? My personal favorite are my Brembos on my KTM.
@@ShiftGearsMoto Nissin.
Where is this course? Looks nice!
Crow Canyon in Ohio
I'm looking into this bike or the 250x. I'm 6ft 2in, 200 lbs and concerned about the bottom end grunt on the 125x.. Thoughts anybody?
Go with the 250x.
@@ShiftGearsMoto thx!
I must ask u something is it rlly worth it over the normal 125 or do u feel like it would be the exact same thing on the normal 125
They're slightly different. The X is their Enduro version.
The 125X has much better low end torque and mid range power than a standard YZ125. Also the gears are a little wider on the X model. The suspension is also a little softer so it's good for trail riding and not rough. Better bike in my opinion, I rode one and it's really great!
@@trevorjameson3213 the gears are the same, it just has one more tooth in the rear.
If I wasn’t 210lb I’d own one
just hold it wide open!
Im 230 and just got one. Its amazing. Way faster than i expected for a 125. Im used to 250 and 300. I havent ridden a 125 in decades. Most fun ever! If i could get below 200 pounds it would be even more fun than it already is for me. I was completely wrong second guessing its displacement. But if your still not convinced im sure the 250x will also be very fun.havent ridde one yet but they are featherlight as well
🔝✌️👊💪

Does this foul plugs eash
Easy
@@TheHammer308same as any other 2 stroke. More about oil mix ratio and such most likely.
