This ring started life as a sheet of 0.8mm sterling silver. The first task was to cut a length of the silver to form my ring.
I used a formula to figure out how much silver to cut and the jewellers saw made easy work of it. Here's the formula in case you're wondering …
Inner diameter + thickness of silver X 3.14 = Silver needed to make ring in MM
(20.68 + 0.8 x 3.14 = 67.44mm)

Wow!
Cool, more more more....

Great video! Btw, that's my Bentwood Ring class you point out! Thanks for the mention 👍👍
Thanks Mike! I'm actually really keen to make a few Skillshare classes. Is it a good platform for making money? I have a few ideas for classes, it's just finding the time!
I think it could be - with your following on here you can probably get some traction over on Skillshare. I get about 30 new students each month into my classes (would love to find the time to make a few new classes too). I can't quit my day job with what I earn but it helps pay a couple bills each month.
First comment! Love your ring videos, you should post more!!
Haha thank you, yes I have a few more in the tank - stay tuned!
Another great ring have been looking for flat silver rings myself but don't have the patience to make them like you I make rings out of solid wood you give me all the insperation to add silver bands and brass to make them pop, keep the videos coming for more insperation please 👏👏👏
Nice one thanks dude! I have a few videos coming man, stay tuned!
What machinary and tools are used for ring making? I want to get started but not sure of what all machines or tools I need.
very nice just a question.
the stone is in a silver bed.
what is that called.
What kind of lathe do you use?
you should try the infinity loop sanding pattern instead. figure 8 is for beginners ! : )
Haha I'll remember to flip my sandpaper 90 degrees next time!
Awesome job brother!!
Hi..what kind of glue do you used
Im trying to make wooden rings and ive made like 20 or 30 but im not set up to use silver yet and am a bit apprehensive about it bit I know I need a metal in yhe ring for strength. I've done two tone rings with light and dark wood not bent but cut and sanded and with the two woods glued together it seems to make them stronger but still not strong enough. ;( I have sold a few just by posting on fb using plexiglass for strength and look but I was unable to do a good finish in them with glue. It's really hard to get it right. I used tung oil for a finish and it turned out pretty good but do you have any advice with putting the glue on it, thx also. I've figured out how to take a rock from the yard and cut my own stones and I think yhts pretty cool. It's surprising how pretty I can make a regular old Rick look just by cutting and grinding and sanding slick. Thx for the videos. !!
Haha hey sounds like you’re getting creative! CA finish is a fine art and tbh it’s hard to explain in comments. I have other videos that will give you an idea.
If you’re having trouble with it then I recommend switching to AlumiUV resin as it’s much easier to apply ✅
Love this one.. U are the master of the super glue finish as far as I'm concerned 😉 lol. Always goes white on me, some say this can be bcoz of breathing but I don't what's the cause of it.. Dono how missed this video haha.. Walnut burl is my favorite looking wood, really makes copper or silver pop👌.. Can I ask u man, where would you but sheet silver like the piece you cut the band from? 🤔
Sorry for the late reply dude! I get my silver/gold/most precious metal supplies from Cooksongold.com
Zebrano Wood Craft hey no worries for late reply at all mate. I'm late myself all the time. Haha cool I will check out that site later this evening so man thanks so much for the tip.. Keep well Dan
What is the name of the tool at 5:31 - the spinner ?
Hey man, what is that tool you used to make the perfect hole in your ring for the setting ?
That’s just a burr for a rotary tool dude ✅
Inner diameter does not work for me, external diameter it's fine I guess
