I was all for white eyes until I saw how important Robert Pattinsons eye acting was, he’s really incredible.
I imagine they might have been plans to include it. But he’s able to act very clearly with his eyes, it’s unbelievable. So no need to ruin it and cover it up
Eye acting doesn't work for every hero.
Tired of Spider-Man being unmasked for 90% of a film
@@ccelite3782 I agree, he should wear a mask more often. Particularly as shows like the mandolorian showed you can still relate to a character without seeing the face.
Speaking as someone with experience in the industry it’s hard. Because it’s a difficult task for an actor to perform without one of the best tools for acting. And if a studio is paying an actor millions then they are going to want to get their money’s worth by showing the face.
Hopefully they can start finding a nice balance. Maybe try some of the torn mask stuff from Tobeys films
@antarikshchoudhury173 I’d say it’s a bit of how good the actor is and how much trust they have from the director. Some actors don’t really get the chance in these roles because they aren’t trusted enough by the studios and directors. Also trust that the audience will understand the character even when covering the face. A big problem in the industry currently is films being dumbed down because the studios have no faith in how smart the audience is. It’s why stuff like the Halo series ditched the mask quickly. It’s a real problem
They could've just made him wear a special contact lens that makes his pupil whiter
Well he didn’t have to go full on detective mode to see that it’s an ecchymosis 💀
He’s that dam clever. Yea white eyes aren’t necessary unless he’s trying to scare criminals in the dark tbh
@@Harrydoc02red eyes would be scary. White ass is goofy af
That’s like saying “it a bruising”around the wound lol
@@michaelcelovsky3136 it in fact is saying just that
I don't think completely white eyes would work here, but given the fact that they highlighted that this Bruce has special contacts that record everything he sees, i could totally see something close!
Yeah if he has camera contacts I don’t see why they shouldn’t just be white contacts. Seems like they were going for that and scrapped it for some reason.
Hope it shows up in The Batman 2.
Can we get a Batman movie with white eyes. If they did it for Deadpool then it can work for Batman.
i like the ones from the gotham knights game, it's an interesting concept for sure
I think it would be cool if done right, the problem is actors need to emote and they get paid for their presence and performance. That’s why they’re always ripping their mask off whenever they get the chance, “see? It’s still me!”
Dark Knight gave us the white eyes during the Ferries scene which was pretty cool, but you could only catch glimpses of it. BvS also gave us white eyes but only while he was in his armor suit. The lack of expressions makes it hard, and we certainly don’t want a repeat of Aquaman with King Orm’s mask..
It works for Black Panther as well.
The eye language and facial expressions is all apart the actors and their acting.
The white eyes work for deadpool because well, it’s Ryan Reynolds. Who cares. But Robert Pattinson shouldn’t get them to show off emotion in the suit. Same reason why Green Goblin ditched his mask.
@@potatoboy549 but the goblin put on a helmet with retractable eye lids. So you could see his eyes. This could work as well but it’s up the writers.
I do love the white eyes and remember wanting reeves to use them before I saw the trailer, then I remembered loving the Arkham series and realizing the eyes can really show Batman's emotions
I can’t believe that Batman had the white eyes in the dark knight and no one noticed
I mean we noticed but it was kinda meh. Also they were blueish
@@thejoshuaarzu3159 mainly because it was sonar
They were really big.
@@HereJuneyea so many problems with it, but it looked kinda cool, but this one looks better in the video, it looks accurate.
BVS Armored Batsuit has white eyes, but it's too Iron Man-like.
Seeing the eyes of your main actor/protagonist might not seem like much but it really dose sell and add more to their performance. Their expressions are important. An example of this is Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of The Lambs, you’ll notice when he is first introduced and he has that scene with Starling, the camera is brought straight up close and Hannibal’s eyes never blink, it’s like he’s staring right at the audience amd that was the most unnerving performance in cinematic history and Hopkins’ best performance
I think the best moments where Batman can use his white eyes is when he goes Detective Mode, in Stealth missions and when he enters a dark place like an underground tunnel, for example.
I really wish they would give him the white lenses for a movie. Done right like in this video it would be awesome
I think the contacts turning white for detective mode'd me better
No. Pattinson eyes display a lot of emotion
@@mero7731 We are talking ONLY when he on detective mode which means the rest of the time we can all see Pattinson's eyes no problem.
@@heisenberg2712 that’s like 90% of why people want it. In the detective scene you could see him realize things in real time
@@mero7731 Yes that's why you don't need to worry about pattinson's emotion-showing eyes not being visible because most of the time his eyes are visible so it will not block his acting performance through his eyes and only when he is on detective vision it does but when batman is on detective vision, most likely it will not involve a highly emotionally charged oscar worthy acting performance. Most likely he would have a neutral face and analyzing the crime scene and so its ok if his eyes are covered at that time only.
That was hella comic accurate
Now I love the white eyes conroy is my childhood (rest in peace) but the white eyes mostly fit for cartoons live action white eyes just kinda looks goofy
It could work if they give it a function. Like in Dark Knight. It could be something he can switch on and off when he goes into detective mode or for night vision. Like the Arkham games. Imagine those white eyes in the darkness.
My thoughts exactly. Retractable lenses in the cowl for things like detective mode, night vision, thermal vision, sonar, or even if he just used them for theatrical effect, make for a compromise where you can get the comicbook white eyes when you want them (for example, a classic shot when he's crouched on top of Gotham Cathedral in the rain in silhouette) but you're not stuck with them through the whole movie. Imagine the opening scene of Batman '89, those muggers talking in fearful, hushed tones about 'the Bat,' they look up to see above them the looming silhouette of a giant monstrous bat, leathery wings outstretched... and bright glowing white eyes staring straight at them. That could've been badass.
Hes suit would look way better than batfleck if he had this and a chin strap, CHANGE MY MIND.
this movie didn't need the white eyes, but I really hope The Batman 2 has them
This is amazing, I speak from Brazil 🇧🇷
thats sick
I'm sorry, but white eyes Batman in live-action looks super goofy. And no just because it worked for Deadpool doesn't mean it works for Batman. A lot of the acting can and does come from Batman's eyes. If you watch the Batman, you can really see how Pattison sells his performance as Batman with the eyes.
Thank you for making this one. Anyone who think WB should put white lens on Batman's eyes is just stupid.
What if the eyes were white but could also emote (best example, Deadpool’s eyes in the movies)?
they should add it in the next movie that would be cool
i think the great thing about pattinson performance was his eyes , he show lot of emotion through them , white eye wouldnt have worked for him maybe other batman would work like dcu batman
Well, if they were retractable lenses they wouldn't have to be permanent, just when he needed them for, say, night vision, thermal vision, or just when they might look cool. For example, the 'I am vengeance' scene where he beats the shit out of that street gang. After all, he _is_ trying to use fear, superstition and intimidation as a weapon. What would be more unnerving than a giant shadowy bat with glowing eyes coming at you out of the darkness?
I really appreciate this look of potential for Robert’s Batman, but he’s so good at facial acting (especially with his eyes) that it takes away 90% of his masterful performance as Batman! His Batman doesn’t need the white eyes, as his eyes tell a much more powerful story every time you look at them.
Perhaps James Gunn’s DCU Batman will have the traditional white eyes, since it seems he’s interested in keeping his universe traditional (as he’s teased with Superman’s costume).
Yea it takes away
Idc about Batman emotions tbh I want to see the white eyes because it’s different and so criminals can actually fear this man at night. Can you imagine walking down a dark alley seeing him with the white eyes starring at you 🫣😖😟😳
I like both so I’m of the opinion that white contacts is perfect
White lenses are better I think, you get white eyes and the eye acting can still be visible
for batfleck would be better look
Does not fit, feels very out of place.
In comics, white eyes were used to make characters look more mysterious. Works for comics and animation, but feels out of place and doesn't have the same effect in live-action. And for a Batman film, It creates a weird bright spot on the screen.
If we really want to hide Batman's eyes for that "mysterious" look, don't do it the way Deadpool did. Go for how it was done in the Daredevil series. Daredevil wears a dark red lenses on his mask instead of white like he does in the comics.
i don't think the white eyes work
Am i the only one who thinks this looks awful live action? Not that the OP did a bad job, they did it perfectly, but the white eyes just dont work live action imo. I see people using deadpool and black panther as examples but thats not the same at all, neither of those characters have a half open mask like batman. Hell even deadpool has emoting eyes to make up for it. Having the contrast of a human mouth followed up with some weird white eyes doesn’t work at all for me. Maybe if they did a batman beyond style with a covered mouth it could work, but not with an open face cowl.
You're not the only one. I'm pretty sure the opinion that white eyes Batman doesn't work in live action is popular.
@@MoonPresence-fg8dn not in these comments apparently lol
It's ugly.
Lol
Yeah, this looks so bad.
