- Mahalia Jackson in concert in Antibes, France on the evening of July 26, 1968. She is accompanied by Dr. Charles Clency (organ) and the late Eddie Robinson (piano). Here she sings a smooth, bluesy rendition of "How I Got Over," which can also be found on CD. The CD is titled many different titles, such as: THE GOLD COLLECTION, DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE, WE SHALL OVER, IT'S IN MY HEART, or if you're fortunate enough to find the original album released in France, it's under LIVE IN ANTIBES, 1968. I apologize for the low volume, but the video came that way. Even though I increased the volume, the accompaniment is still low.

Funki-fied Jackson w/ the hairpiece. I'm here for it ... #1968 #Jackson
She was definitely a stylish woman, and as one of my friends once said, she kept up with the times.
@@Rowoches Yep. And she didn't shy away from "re-wearing" what she liked. I admire that.
She was also a licensed cosmetologist

Yessir. In my mind I feel she did her own hair. I read she was frugal with money.
🔥 🔥 👏🏿👏🏿
Wonderful
We knew about her, decades later I got into Clara Ward etc
I can see that Dionne Warwick was another young talent that was influenced by her based off of this more chill cooler performance
