    I was so excited to be visiting Belgium for 10 days in the spring and dining at Meliefste. After watching this video, no f*cking way. Reservations will be canceled.

    This is a fine dining restaurant. All you are seeing in the video is that is what we call culinary arts. What's wrong with you guys? You are acting like an ignorance. If you don't like it, you can go to other restaurant which is cheaper like you.

    The sweat is just extra flavor. We always told you guys we put in our blood sweat and tears, and it's because the fillet was fucking under seasoned.

      @dylan foley sorry, but a three year old child can vacuum meat in plastic bags and leave it in 65 degrees (Celsius) water for a couple of hours, this has nothing to do with cooking. And the oil where they used to to roast it after was way too hot.

      @2:10 sweating into meat as well. To be honest at this point im impressed how he manages to land the sweat into the food so perfectly every time :D

    I'm in no way knocking this attention to detail. My biggest question is though, how do they and so many other kitchens like this spend so much time plating without the food getting cold? I understand that they have heat lamps and other means of retaining temperature, but surely they aren't completely reliant on that. I've worked in several kitchens with involved plating, but typically the food would not be sitting out at room temperature for more than ~3min provided that FOH was running smoothly. Is it just impeccable timing? Regardless, much respect.

      the dish their were plating went with the duck he was cutting the duck needed to rest that's why he asked how long everything on the side came from the garde manger station (cold food station) by the time the duck gets rested and sliced they plate the dishes! let me know if you have any questions

    They hadle the food tooooo much after it's been cooked. It is not normal. They think more about presentation and forget about the taste very often.

    Na het zien van dit filmpje begrijp ik ineens michelin veel beter om geen ster te geven wat een kinderklas. Codium in goes is veel volwassener en is nog maar pas open. Meliefste stop eens met arrogant doen

      he is tasting the seasoning how do you know he didnt wash his hand? he could have cut a small piece to taste but i guess it was busy

      sweat dripped from the guys face onto the food, plz watch again. look at around 2min 15 then at 2min 30 he licks his finger then proceeds to put the herbs on without washing his hands. you would get the sack in a fast food place for that.

      that's just for starters, at 3min 20 he touches raw meat, then grabs the panhandle and trays.. it disgusting and poor hygiene practice for sure. I could go on if you would like???

      @@johnfrost4161 These things happen all the time lol plus meliefste never left the meat station for the herb thing most likely the herb wasnt good enough to go on the plate so he ate it its busy no time to go wash hands and come back this happens in a michelin star kitchens all the time you know what's the difference between this kitchen and fast food? this kitchen doesn't have unfolded towels on the counter everywhere this kitchen doesn't wear one gloves for hours this kitchen doesn't have food on the floor or fries everywhere plus towels are one of the things that contains most germs having a towel on the counter next to the food is a lot worst than someone licking their finger

      Look, just because something happens that doesn't make it right or hygienic. My brother was on MasterChef ( he did get knocked out pretty early tbf) but I think its safe to say I understand the job enough to comment when hygiene is being sacrificed for speed. If people actually realized that this happened do you honestly think they would still be ok to eat the meat with a sweat on, come on seriously? And please don't assume I think fast food is anywhere close to this level of food, I don't. But the fact remains... If a food hygiene inspector saw that do you think they would be ok with it? The answer is clearly no.

      The nicer the restaurant the more your food has been touched and tasted. If it wasn't, then it could not be verified to be perfect.
