Its why every other elf she meets in the series comments on how young she is and how nearly every other character of another species she meets says she acts like a child. Elves develop ridiculously slow in this series. Kraft is over 10,000 years old yet he still is physically is in mid to late twenties. There is a reason why, despite actually ageing like every other species in this series, there are no stories of them even making it to retirement age.

They can't exactly be going easy on the exams just because they want to be nice or they'll end up dying to the quests that 1st class mages would take.

The scariest thing is….she let them approach. She could’ve easily thrown a black hole at them, dragon blast of fire, or even a golem - yet she lets them approach and doesn’t outright attack, despite the advantage of height. Which adds to the exact copying of the clone…it’s how the Frieren would have fought…using the basic attack and only using more complex spells for when it’s warranted.
We knew Freiren was powerful, but seeing these 4 powerful mages questioning their chances to take her clone 4v1 REALLY shows how powerful she is in the context of this world
Honestly the most impressive feature of fighting Frieren is her composure. She doesn't need to be energetic nor show any emotion, she is totally "in the zone"
Smartest move to make. When her Mana reserves are yes, and she knows spells that most people have forgotten and practiced them all to extreme levels. Running is the smart move.
The fact that Denken, one of the biggest Chad's of that Arc said himself that he would have already fled if it weren't absolutely necessary to beat her in order to pass the test, shows just how intimidating Frieren is as an enemy. It's a 4V1 against a statue that doesn't have her mind but just her abilities, yet they're still questioning if they even have a chance.
If I remember correctly, the statues make a copy of the reasoning of whoever they are copying but yes, it is more of a kind of behavioral protocol than proper progressive reasoning

That's why the examiner's statue didn't run from Ubel even though the examiner herself knew that Ubel could split her in half. If it were actually copying their thought processes, Frieren's statue would have went after Fern first seeing as she's the weaker of the 2.
I liked how everyone instantly respected Frieren for her abilities as soon as they figured out she wasn't ever really serious. Everyone is chill around her as though they are on her level and when they figure it out that whole prospective changes.
One half of the labyrinth, Frieren would show, happily explores, searching for treasures, while the other half, people fight for their lives and pray to survive. Lol

Reminds me of the final boss of Karamelle from Wizard101 where you basically fight a chaos version of your characters Devine paradox form (basically become god) used to defeat the Aethyr Titan (a corrupted god). In short everyone’s gangster till you realize the raid boss is yourself.
If I walked through those doors and saw Frieren prepared to fight, I'd be like "whoops wrong door, I was looking for the bathroom" and get out of there in like 2 seconds 😂
