@@baconofburger8784 Pretty much all cinema and anime is in 24fps. You don't notice because adding frames doesn't really add anything. On the contrary, when done poorly, as is usually done while trying to interpolate things into 60fps, it ends up looking a bit wrong. In games 60 is pretty much mandatory but that's only because of things like input lag and the aspect of interactivity itself
@@baconofburger8784This was between 12 to 24 fps as all of animation of quality. 12 fps is the lower limit that make a moovepent fluid and after 24 you dont see any major difference. Pass the 24 mark and your animation will be so fluid it will look extremly bad and blank because it wont be able to attract your sight into what matter the most, making the anime sometimes completly unwatchable It doesnt means you cant pass the 24 fps, but it means that 12 to 24fps is the best ratio for anime. (Compared to video game which try to insert you YOURSELF into the world, animation try to show you a story. Hell even video game will drop artificially the framerate in cinematics by just butchering 2/3 of the transition frame) What really make animation standing up is more about how well made it is crafted and not the actual fps In fact one mahor technique to make a moment more impactfull is to lower the fps : with low fps your eye will stuck more in the moment with low fps, making it stand up more. Think when you had lag in a game, but instead of ruining your fun the lag actually get on in a spectacular moment ! You can also animated thing with different fps : for exemple a character moovement could be at 24 to make it more fluid and less visible, but an attack he makes could be at 12 to show how powerfull that blow is. Or to just give a totally different animation style like in spider verse. (The whole oscar winning moovie and its sequel are mainly in 12 fps btw) The application and variation is fcking endless, animation got infinite potential Dude changing well made anime into standarised 60fps anime is a sign of stupidity and ignorance
I really appreciate your channel, unlike many others you don't ruin the artwork by forcing in fake frames just to make it 60fps and you don't cut scenes up like you're having the biggest ADHD tweak of your life. Usually they do it under the pretense that they will evade copyright claims and/or fool the algorithm, but that's a fallacy, if the algorithm wants it flags those videos and take them down, most publishers however don't give a flying fuck and don't do it unless you outright upload their whole episodes, industry as a whole has been very lenient when it comes to scenes only, so once again thank you and I wish all those other mongrels started doing the same, blocked so many channels that do this crap since they flood my recommended feed.

learning the basics will grant you the most power. I was surprised when they showed other types of magic I thought only the basics were there yet it shows how good Frieren is in teaching giving the basics and showing how strong it is.
I think its that most mages will become weaker trying to specialize in a magic type than if they just learned the "basics". Fern for example is the absolute best at mana concealment, that even the best mages can't track her while she's moving. That's also if they know to look for her.
@@Krab17 The basics mostly work because Frieren (and Fern) have an absolutely monstrous mana pool compared to basically every human mage. You see she uses more complex magic when fighting her clone. Regular mages are most likely better off specializing in other magic to take down an opponent as fast as possible (like Denken tries to do) rather than making every battle a mana pool battle.
@@mikmikxxd basics and mana control are the escence of developing more mana capabilities, more control and flamme said that if you can show less mana than you have, you mostly will have the upper hand facing demons and other mages, fern has a very high control of mana, so the basics are better for her, because she need something simple to control better, if she used fancy spells she only would be wasting mana, so focusing in the basics (and the basics can kill a demon) fern and frieren does not need more fancy magic to fight, fern is too good with basics because is mostly what she trained since she was a child, that and his mana control. When frieren fought her clone in the 2nd exam she used fancy and powerful spells because she was facing herself, an enemy with the same amount of mana, and the same battle experience, so she can not use the basics totally because she knew that she were going to fight back counter elements and the oponent have no problem using nuke spells, but as they said, the copy of frieren did not has full protection against the new version of zooltrak, that is why frieren said to fern to attack her with that attack, wich in the human magic era zooltrak was a simple and efective spell, frieren develop it to do more damage and even destroy demons, that is why the demon who was sealed figure the barriers against zooltrak need too much energy, and have some time to be deployed, but even that barrier could not stop big material attacks, because it will need more time to be deployed and more mana comsumption, that is why frieren said that she could not win against a big attack of the water girl that beat the earth guy, because they usually can not have a defense spell against those attacks.
1. Fern basically has 100/100 Sneak. even frieren had no clue when Fern tailed her during fern's birthday. Linie only detected Fern at the last possible second but only cuz she activated a spell at Lugner. 2. She is even Faster than the last remaining great mage. she is incredibly Quick. she is FAST af 3. She has monstrous mana pool. 4. but most importantly she can hide her mana pool and make everyone understimate her which is the greatest advantage. Conclusion: if you are up against Fern, it means you are already deadge
To be fair, now that we look back on it there is literally only 2 mages in the entire series that have used more than like 2 spells in combat, and it's Denken and Frieren, not saying he ever had a chance but he's definitely not weak
I love that during this scene the Male Exam Examiner asks a rhetorical question where he thinks he knows the answer. "Do you really think someone's power can beat the sages?" then the show answers that dumbass question by playing the hype song motif and having Frieren emerge from the flames. 10/10
The way they both deflect their first attack with that mirror fast sequence was so damn cool, this is the animation style so many tried to repoduce but couldn't 🤤🥴👌
Freiren was out of anyone league as an opponent, and Denken knew that yet he fought her. Thats admirable. He knew that the amount of mana he had comparable to her's who's an elf was little. So decided to go all out from the beginning.
1:14 “Do you really think there’s a mage in this world greater than Serie?” With the build up of the music and the shot of Frieren bursting through the fire ITS SO COOL
"Don't worry about Frieren. I will deal with her..." "You sure..? You're not underestimating her?" "Of course not! I am one of those analytical, insightful and intelligent arch types, remember?" "That's great, Denken! So what's your plan?" "Uh.. plan? I thought I'd just fight her normally and win with my superior magic..?" "..."
You really don't get Denken. When he ran out of mana, he just kept looking for other groups and started fistfighting them. He's not overconfident or underestimating her, he's determined. It could have been the Demon King in front of him at that instant and he would have said the same thing. The old man really wants to visit his hometown again before he dies, doesn't matter who stands in his way. Besides, magic in this series is about visualization. If he can't imagine himself winning against her then he can't win.
Magic is a visualization type thing you cant win lest you throw your body weight into it, thats how he almost soloed a demon general and then killed after some assistance
The animation is amazing, but the sound design is S tier as well. Everyone has their own signature tones. And Frieren always sounds like an artillery piece firing.
i think this fight showed very cleanly the difference in approach between Fern and Frieren, where by the time Frieren first cast a spell, the whole of her plan was then set in motion, then there's Fern, who recognizes that being put on the defensive is a guaranteed loss for her opponent as she will almost always win battles of attrition so long as she's able to multi-cast enough spells
I really like the detail that last spell Denken used was literally the spell to hit weakspots of defense magic as we are told some episodes earlier when fighting for the first time with Serie clone. It shows that despite knowing that he is gonna loose he was to the end no out of options
not really, she stayed put for the vast majority of it, from when she presumably parted ways with Flamma to when Himmel comes to see her. the reason she's so powerful is because she's basically been training her raw mana reserves for that 1000 years
The problem is matchup, Freiren needed a countermeasure to Macht having an instakill spell and His immense physical strength combined with his ability to turn himself into gold for defense.@@IvytuftWC
After rewatch frieren its really amazing that basic magic is really all you need to fight these modern era mages but when you see her fight her mimic she goes all out because a mage of her caliber requires stronger spells.
Frieren is very calculative. Notice she fires 1 Zoltraak followed by a volley. The volley tracks Denkin but we don't see the dead shot Zoltraak until Denkin is barraging Frieren with Catastravia and it comes out of nowhere and creates an opening for our elf mage. To Denkin it must have seemed like some kind of advanced trick Frieren has up her sleeve but no, Frieren just knows how to set people up to fail 😂
I was thinking the other day about the difference in Ferns and Frierens Zoltraak. Like Frieren said Fern is inferior in technique and mana, but is pretty fast in casting it. And you can see through the series that when Frieren is not blasting Zoltraak to your face she makes all sorts of curveballs and guides it through space. Ferns Zoltraak is mostly straight but she spams it like there is no tomorrow.
just y'all know, denken was the student of the number 2 saints demon of demon lord army and he teach denken how to use a magic, and denken has a lot of experience during war againts the demon lord itself, thats why denken never afraid of frieren and always calculate the strategies during battle even when serrie challange him.
1:44-1:47 - Denken: "Well well well, if it isn't my two old friends: The consequences of my own actions, and the dawning realization that I done fucked up."
People might underestmate Denken since this has been his biggest fight and he lost but like. Frieren is an absolute menace and he managed to hold on for a while. Remember how nobody else in the exam even dared to go against Frieren clone in the next phase if not for Fern and Frieren themselves, and definitely nobody would dare 1v1. The only reason this fight is happening at all is because Denken was the only mage in the whole round to see through Frieren's plan for catching the bird. And Frieren during this fight is completely focused, this was not her typical stomp kind of fight.
Another thing about this show, Denken senses Frieren has blocked his attack before he actually sees it with his eyes. How many times in other shows does the attacker go yay I dooed it because they can't see thru their own attack. So they think they have won. Same in the next scene where when Frieren says she is analyzing the barrier you get that little recognition by Denken of just what Frieren is doing before the light show starts. Denken may have lost and lost badly but the man does know his business.
Modern mages: *_spell goes burrrr_* Legendary elf who was part of the heroes party and lived 1000 years prior: *_…Exodia...OBLIDERATE……no wait…was it KAMEMEMEHA….or was it….duck it!_*
Spoiler: hv just realized about the counter attack. It’s used to make her opponent focused on defense n stood still. Becoz Frieren couldnt detect mana at that slight second.
after this fight and frieren vs her-cloneSelf, we know frieren cutting the distance because she can not cast the zoltraak faster than fern, just imagine if fern can also cutting distance, fern would end any fight real fast
Doesn't mean Frieren can not protect herself and wait out her barrage with mana left to spare. During the fight we saw Frieren able to do that with Fern surprising her.
Not many in that age know her anymore. Only a couple few. Why Denken believed he would hold any candle however is questionable though since he knows who Frieren is and that Frieren fought his master 600 years ago and lost but given she fought and survived and how she was part of the "lets yolo the demon lord" group there was no way he could defeat her. And thats assuming he didnt know about Frieren facerolling Aura and Qual like its nothing (if he did its even more questionable)
Arrogant humans keep forgetting that she has the highest kill streak when it comes to demons, the most ficlke minded species. She is literally the best Demon Slayer, take notes Yoriichi.

Nah, it was the blow kiss
Pretty sure it was the "Make Paper Airplanes Fly Better" Spell and the "Can't Bite Your Tongue While Talking" spell combo that took out the demon king.
Ignore the people asking for 60fps, don’t ruin the art
Fr, it should be a crime to shove animation through a frame interpolater and calling it 'improved'
wtf this was 30 fps??
I see it as just plain old disrespectful to the hours and hours of painstaking work that goes into it
@@baconofburger8784 Pretty much all cinema and anime is in 24fps.
Pass the 24 mark and your animation will be so fluid it will look extremly bad and blank because it wont be able to attract your sight into what matter the most, making the anime sometimes completly unwatchable
It doesnt means you cant pass the 24 fps, but it means that 12 to 24fps is the best ratio for anime.
(Compared to video game which try to insert you YOURSELF into the world, animation try to show you a story. Hell even video game will drop artificially the framerate in cinematics by just butchering 2/3 of the transition frame)
What really make animation standing up is more about how well made it is crafted and not the actual fps
In fact one mahor technique to make a moment more impactfull is to lower the fps : with low fps your eye will stuck more in the moment with low fps, making it stand up more.
(The whole oscar winning moovie and its sequel are mainly in 12 fps btw)
The application and variation is fcking endless, animation got infinite potential
Dude changing well made anime into standarised 60fps anime is a sign of stupidity and ignorance

The Frieren Anime combat theme is titled Zoltreck. Qual must be happy that his magic is ao defining that combatants are litterly dancing to it.
learning the basics will grant you the most power.
Regular mages are most likely better off specializing in other magic to take down an opponent as fast as possible (like Denken tries to do) rather than making every battle a mana pool battle.
the basics to everything are essential. fern is out there with tim duncan hitting bank shots from mid-range because it's nearly unblockable.
2. She is even Faster than the last remaining great mage. she is incredibly Quick. she is FAST af
Now Imagine if she had gone full out, and used the blow kiss move?
Bruh, why are you wanting Denken to be completely annihilated like that.😂
finally a video that isn't edited by a kid to annoy the hell out of anyone watching it.

@@SantoshSatvikLat 0:00 frieren fire 1 + 6 zotrack, but only 1+5 hit denken, so one zotrack fly around 1 min then hit denken.
Denken was probably internally fangirling over even being face to face with Frieren honestly
Freiren was out of anyone league as an opponent, and Denken knew that yet he fought her. Thats admirable.
He knew that the amount of mana he had comparable to her's who's an elf was little. So decided to go all out from the beginning.

“Do you really think there’s a mage in this world greater than Serie?”
With the build up of the music and the shot of Frieren bursting through the fire ITS SO COOL
"Don't worry about Frieren. I will deal with her..."
"You sure..? You're not underestimating her?"
"Of course not! I am one of those analytical, insightful and intelligent arch types, remember?"
"That's great, Denken! So what's your plan?"
"Uh.. plan? I thought I'd just fight her normally and win with my superior magic..?"
"..."
"That's my battle Toddler..." --Fern probably..
you know someones strong when they spend the every fight using basic spells and still stomping the competition
I just want to see Serie go full power against someone. Just imagine how cool would that be.
The animation is amazing, but the sound design is S tier as well. Everyone has their own signature tones. And Frieren always sounds like an artillery piece firing.
Am I the only one who thinks this kind of fights are amazing
i think this fight showed very cleanly the difference in approach between Fern and Frieren, where by the time Frieren first cast a spell, the whole of her plan was then set in motion, then there's Fern, who recognizes that being put on the defensive is a guaranteed loss for her opponent as she will almost always win battles of attrition so long as she's able to multi-cast enough spells
I really like the detail that last spell Denken used was literally the spell to hit weakspots of defense magic as we are told some episodes earlier when fighting for the first time with Serie clone. It shows that despite knowing that he is gonna loose he was to the end no out of options
serie like sit in libary for thousand year when Frieren explore the world for thousand years
Serie was already insane when Frieren was just getting her real start.
not really, she stayed put for the vast majority of it, from when she presumably parted ways with Flamma to when Himmel comes to see her. the reason she's so powerful is because she's basically been training her raw mana reserves for that 1000 years
@@brendansoucy2220this isn't accurate with everything the manga has shown, but it is accurate with what the show has shown so far.

After rewatch frieren its really amazing that basic magic is really all you need to fight these modern era mages but when you see her fight her mimic she goes all out because a mage of her caliber requires stronger spells.
After seeing frieren fight her clone, it would have been crazier if she actually used other more complicated spells
She did, against the Nameless. Big spoiler talk tho.
Theyre talking about if she used them in this specific fight@@snuckel4
Denken be strong at the "nah I'd win" department
How they portrayed Frieren when she fights could easily be perceived as the villain, so badass.
Now I'm convinced with this episide, Frieren is using some sort of Teleportation Magic.
It's just another tuesday for Frieren
Denken’s comments on exhausting mana has a different vibe this week huh
Frieren is the cute, adorable face of Death.
They should be thankful. They’re not demons. Or Frieren wouldn’t have gone easy on them
Now next episode is the boss of the dungeon: A Perfect Replica
She’s so disrespectful and I’m totally here for it.
I LOVE this manga!
Okay but she literally fought Denken, comfortable defeating him, all while analyzing the barrier to decide how to break it down
Classy outro 😏
Man hit her with the DBZ barrage special. And just like in DBZ it didn't do shit.

after this fight and frieren vs her-cloneSelf, we know frieren cutting the distance because she can not cast the zoltraak faster than fern, just imagine if fern can also cutting distance, fern would end any fight real fast
Doesn't mean Frieren can not protect herself and wait out her barrage with mana left to spare. During the fight we saw Frieren able to do that with Fern surprising her.
I just watched this episode.😉
For someone second only to serie in term of raw power and probably better spell analysis than even serie she really is often underestimated
I mean, in magic maybe, but i'd still argue maybe the other high elf monk guy would be stronger then her, just because he's way older.
Arrogant humans keep forgetting that she has the highest kill streak when it comes to demons, the most ficlke minded species.
