"you cant truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of great violence. If you are not capable of violence, you are not peaceful, you are harmless..." "peace is not just the mere absence of violence, its when there is a possibility of conflict, but you deliberately avoid violence and adopt peaceful methods." . I got your joke, and it is funny, but Flamme is correct.
How she made Aura kill herself was such a boss move. The difference is our strength is so vast that its not worth my time to kill you, so I'll have you do it for me.
I mean she never wanted the demons besides demons in these story only talk to decieve the humans to kill them so yeah they are like a plage so if you search piece you should kill them
The funny is that her skills are not to the max . As Serie herself said Frieren is not especially skilled for her age . It’s just that her age is so advanced that even being a B+ student at this age means it’s like having multiple PhD’s consoles to everyone else
Frieren is also a prodigy and is quite talented, if she wanted to and put more effort in she could probably have been the most powerful being in the entire universe a long time ago😭
What Series says is a bit different, it's not that she's a B+, it's that since she focused so much of her training on mana suppression, she looks like a B+ if you don't take that into consideration or if that part of her training becomes useless. Basically she's a A+ student who specialised in anti-demon techniques, but if you know she suppresses her magic she loses a bit of that advantage and performs closer to a B+ student that would have trained for over a thousand years.
Frieren was the most powerful in her elf village, and she was quite young at the time, so I think she is really talented. “Not especially talented” coming from Serie means “a total genius” if anyone else said it.
Frieren says she has been defeated, but she is still THE SLAYER. Demons are the biggest threat, and she has killed more than any other person. I would always bet on Frieren
The most wild thing about this? She *had* to have earned that title whilst on her journey with the Hero's Party. Since even Aura didn't know anything about her from before then. Meaning she didn't just slay more Demons than anyone in history, she did so in under 10 years.
@@nemasisdemarini8339 That is, according to Lugner, who has limited knowledge on the issue. For instance during El Dourado, Serie mentions that demons have forgotten to fear hear because she comes from the mythical age, an era that existed long, long ago... Characters like Kraft who saved the world in the past and nobody even remembers anymore take away the credibility of that statement.
Qual would have beaten her if he had actually had some time to analyze the defense against zoltrak . Hes probably the only demon i actually felt bad for. In a way i guess its sort of flattering that an entire race of people concentrated on yoir magnum opus of a spell for 80 years.
@@boboyo3140 That is according to Aura. Lugner informs us that *he* knows her as The Slayer, meaning that more modern Demons still do, but Aura is the one to claim that they only know her from 80 years ago. She specifically claims Frieren is an Elf who appeared 80 years ago. Meaning, whilst she probably thinks Frieren is older than that, she likely assumed it wasn't by very much. And Aura has been a high ranking Demon, for hundreds of years.
Look. Most mimics are just plain dangerous for any adventurer irregardless of class. Frieren? She's just worried that it messes up her hair. She face tanks mimics. She dodged Aura's goons with natural evasion. She has a warrior as a convenience, not as any actual defense.... Frieren is a mage, but she is so overlevelled in this world her stats makes everything a joke
Well season 2 will prove otherwise. She was so scared to fight a particular demon that she wanted to escape.... Not complaining tho macht's magic is King Midas in steroids
More forward in the story, Stark saves Frieren from certain death at least TWICE. The reason is that mages are easy prey to non magical surprise attacks. So a warrior frontliner is not a convenience, but a real need. ALSO... spoilers Sein is coming back to the Team! He is surely going to save the day in a really dangerous situation, with the trio hunted down by Elite Mage Killers, with Stark poisoned and brought to incoscience.
@@GordonGordon "she has a warrior as a convenience, not as any actual defense" lmao this is gonna age so badly. Frieren DOES need Stark as a warrior and her stats are NOT so overlevelled that "everything else is a joke". Just in this current arc of the manga, Stark saved Frieren from certain death TWICE against the shadow warriors. ANY highly skilled warrior could kill Frieren if they manage to catch her lacking.
Let's not forget that even when fighting Sölitar, Frieren was still multi tasking (analysing El Dorado to dispel it). I don't think we have seen her being 100% focused on a task ever. The little ADHD grimlin grandma.
She wasn't always super strong. A few centuries before the main story, she lost use of her right arm. And if the anime is correct, she seems to be right handed. She considered the loss of her dominant arm the end of her career and gave up fighting demons. Even after she fixed it, when Himmel suggested she go with them, she considered the centuries of inaction meant her tactics would be out of date. Frieren has been increasing her mana pool since she became a mage, so given that happened awhile ago she wasn't as strong back then. I don't know when she got her confidence back, but it was presumably before they killed the demon king.
Maybe when she broke the unbreakable magic prison spell thanks to the encouragements of her companions. She did the impossible after all, just like they believed she would.
Yes she is PURELY from the peaceful era, and only fights to keep peace. Not for the fun of it or getting stronger by fighting stronger opponents but to keep the peace. Now imagine Lernen had lived Frieren 1000 year life so far. He would be a monster.
It’s not that “it’s been years since she used” that special unknown magic, it’s that the last time she used it was against the demon king. It’s specifically 80 years for a reason
Yup, the force push was last used during the battle with the Demon King... I hope with more seasons of the Anime we get to see a flashback to that fight
I'm going to guess she's kept it a secret in hopes that humanity doesn't adapt to it, otherwise the demons would be able to find out a way to counter such a strong spell.
An interesting comparison is between Serie and Frieren. Frieren learned from Flamme to suppress her magic. But during the Aura fight, we see her magic unleashed. Clearly, Aura's 500 years is no comparison to Frieren's 1000. Now, when we first meet Serie, we see her as Flammes master. The next time we really meet Serie, she is leading the mage's and parsing out her knowledge to the "best" mages. Her best student can see Frieren's suppression instability, but not Serie's. Fern can see both making her a better mage than the best she had trained. So, from context clues, we can theorize that Flamme learned to suppress her magic from Serie. We know that both Flamme and Frieren, and presumably Fern, keep their magic to 10% of the maximum they can produce. Therefore, Serie keeps her magic to 10% of her maximum. Her magical aura is shown to be har greater than Frieren even when she unleashes it. Frieren the Slayer, the Last Great Mage, Mage of the Heros Party is far younger, weaker, and less knowledgeable than Serie, master of Flamme, Leader of the Mage Association. Yet Serie is jealous of Frieren but still does what she can to keep the name of Frieren in the history of the Association.
@evegrim8780 Serie did not teach Flamme how to suppress her mana. She told Flamme she was being stupid for suppressing her mana. Besides, it's not that hard. When Flamme instructed Frieren to reduce her mana to 10% and then praised her for doing a good job, Frieren said any elf could do this much. That Serie is showing 10% of her mana is a false assumption. 3 reasons. First, it would be too much of a coincidence that the mana Serie is showing is just a little more than Frieren unrestricted mana. Second, Serie cannot show less mana than Frieren's unrestricted mana on the off chance that her apprentices might see the instability in Frieren's mana. Only Lernan spotted the instability in Frieren's mana and thus that she was suppressing her mana but not Serie's. Either she trained like mad to eliminate the instability or she did not need to suppress her mana as much as Frieren. In any case, as the older more experienced mage Serie had to show more mana. Third, Serie expected Flamme to surpass her. You might be thinking, how can a human surpass an elf? Especially when that elf had a 3000 year head start. Serie is just an ordinary elf with age on her side. Flamme, on the other hand, was a genius. She probably had the mana of an experienced old mage as a five year old. Serie took her as an apprentice when Flamme was a very little girl. All the apprentices she takes on now are adults and first class mages. So I wonder, just how powerful Flamme could have become if she had not "wasted " her time killing demons. For Flamme to have a chance at surpassing Serie her mana must be within possible reach. Like a 10% chance. That's why I think Serie is showing like 50 to 30% of her mana.
@@PedroPalaciosJr the 'can't be a coincidence argument' is pretty lackluster, but it has some truth to it, I believe. One thing worth considering is that mana in Frieren isn't everything, as demonstrated multiple times over by different characters. Mana represents an 'unclimbable wall', but not in the sense that the one with the greater mana wins - rather, mana is just another quality that serves as the foundation of a mage, but it does not determine skill nor victory in a battle. Also, it isn't that Flamme wasted her time killing demons, to the best of my knowledge. It's more so that Flamme used magic offensively not for the purpose of improving her skills, but for the purpose of wiping out demons, the world's biggest threat. This is evident considering her favorite spell is magic to create a field of flowers, which she then passed down to Frieren. Serie resented Flamme for not realizing her magic to the utmost of her potential, because she did not wish to become stronger for the sake of it, but was forced to because she lived in a time of war and violence. As said by Frieren and Lernen, old style mages are quite bad at the sensitive parts of life. This is also expressed when Flamme introduces Serie to Frieren. She says that Serie 'cannot imagine a world without the Demon King', because that would mean a world without conflict, which would more or less strip her of her purpose/passion. This is also reinforced further when it's stated Serie avoided confronting the Demon King. Not out of fear, but because if she did, it could possibly result in the ending of the age of war, and the start of a new era, meaning she would have no reason to fight him at all.
@@PedroPalaciosJrWhat if Serie is actually faking her mana to be more than it actually is? I mean if she’s all powerful she could’ve easily solo’d the demon king herself, something she criticizes Frieren for not doing. Oh and not to mention she lies pretty much the whole time so that would fit perfectly.
You're missing a lot of context. Frieren is suppressing a LOT of her mana, and Serie is only suppressing some of her mana. From inference we know Serie has around 40%-50% more mana than Frieren. The reason why ONE of Serie's students was able to detect the slight instability was entirely due to luck and even then Frieren is suppressing a larger portion of her mana than Serie. It is also directly implied Serie can hide her whole mana near perfectly, though this is extremely doubtful as the people she was hiding it from wouldn't have been on the lookout for fluctuations as they didn't know the technique was even possible. While also not mentioned directly it is implied that Frieren is aware of Serie hiding her mana, I actually think it's highly likely Frieren can detect it as she did Flamme's. Lastly, Serie failed to kill the demon king and Frieren has fought against a being more powerful than Serie herself, however she absolutely only achieved the win with help. Her killing the demon king is something Serie would not ever have been able to do due to who she is as a person rather than just her skills. Essentially we know from the novel and manga that Serie's judgement of Frieren is woefully inept and that you should judge Frieren's powers and abilities by anything other than what Serie says.
Ok, I'll expand my argument. We know that Lernen can see Frieren's suppression but not Serie's. While there is no indication of Fern seeing Frieren's sh does see Serie's. Therefore, Serie is better at it than Frieren. We also know that Serie is far older than Frieren. Both have the same opinion on suppression. It is a waste of time for any other reason than deceiving your enemy. Both stated that it would have been more efficient for Frieren to enhance her mana as opposed to practicing suppression. But in the war against demons, nothing is better than deception. We don't know how much Serie suppresses her mana, but we know she does. Serie masters all spells and abilities that come across her library. We know it takes a century to learn the counter to Goldize. Can't remember the name. But this indicates that if it's taken Frieren a thousand years to get to her skill level in suppression, it may have taken the same amount of time for Serie. Admittedly, there is no way of knowing if this is true. But I would conjecture that Serie spent more time making her mana stronger than suppressing it, but in her refusal to be less than those around her mastered her suppression to the greatest height she could. Making Fern all the more impressive.
To be fair, it was repaired by an archmage who was trying to be one of the less than 50 1st class mages. So beyond repair meant that less than 50 people at most in the world could repair it, and that's assuming other 1st class makes could have all also fixed it.
What I love about the Frieren vs Aura fight is she LITERALLY says “kill yourself” to Aura and because Frieren has the most mana, Aura had no choice but to obey. It’s cold and harsh and so unlike the Frieren we’ve known so far, and that’s what makes it amazing
she hate demon, that show you how much she hate demon, demon kill her whole clan And she believe demon is irredeemable, specially after the story with himmel and the demon kids
ironically enough the biggest problem with fighting Frieren isn't her absurd strength, it's that giant collection of random-ass spells: the way they've got their magic system working makes direct contests about half and half between power and rock-paper-scissors with the contestant's own interpretation of Rule Of Cool acting as a multiplier for efficiency and/or force. thing is though? 99.99% of the mages are fairly specialized and/or gimicky even among the humans and elves let alone the demons and a heck of a lot of the time all you actually need to do to automatically win is operate in a manner that your opponent can not interact with. Frieren is, to-date, the second most knowledgable magic user we have seen evidence of gods included (they _also_ fall under the gimmicky specialized problem) and between her and number 1 she is by FAR the better creative thinker and problem solver while number 1 is the perfectionist powerhouse. on a related note Fern is very nearly as terrifying as Frieren, primarily because of a combination of outright absurd levels of situational awareness and an even more absurd casting speed...the part I don't get is that she seems to be even better than Frieren at analyzing magic and learning new spells but she still sticks to like 3 of the simplest possible spells available when fighting.
Fr, like she has a spell that can lock away something while the caster is still alive. That means if she was trying to protect something or someone, she could put them somewhere, cast the spell and focus FULLY on the fight because she doesn’t have to worry about the thing or person she is protecting while fighting due to the spell ALWAYS being up as long as she is alive. Others would have their attention divided trying to fight and keep whatever it is they’re trying to protect but not Frieren due to her knowing a forgotten spell by some random clan.😂
The reason Fern sticks to basic offense and defensive magic is that's how Frieren has taught her. "This is enough against mages of this era." With Fern's ridiculous casting speed and her ability to concentrate on numerous attacks at the same time, she can overwhelm her opponents with nothing but basic magic and pure speed. Like when she was fighting the demon Lugner, and he was confident he could win, yet she just kept blasting away his defenses and attacking faster and faster, until he realized there was no way he was going to be able to run her out of mana before he died. Fern's potential is enough that she'd likely eclipse Flamme if she were properly taught. That's why Serie was so eager to take her on as an apprentice at the end of the mage exam arc. She saw the huge potential Fern has.
@@senjusan6359 It's fine, the only reason some existing bosses are winnable is the boss AI. You just kind of have to suspend disbelief and accept that enough souls or runes or w/e put the character on par with them in the story. And that a dragon wouldn't just spit breath at melee characters from the air constantly, then land too far away for them to reach before it could take off again etc. Frieren would probably be a winnable fight too if you put those abilities into the same lobotomized boss AI scripts!
@@senjusan6359 I never played soulsbourne but a highly skilled warrior taking her on at close quarters would be enough to defeat her. As per the current arc in the manga.
quick theory: she was called the last great mage, and there's apparantly 3(?) great mages from the mythical(?) era, one is serie, another's dead, so what if Frieren is the youngest of the great mages from the end of the mythical era and is considerably uninterested in combat, so she might be just still concealing a significant amount of her strength like Serie is.
@@lenOwOo well she did state she cannot imagine beating serie so... serie is most likely significantly stronger and/or the mythical age lasted several thousand years and frieren was born towards the end of it while the other two was born way earlier so they had a lot more experience with high level magic
She isn't close to being as strong as serie is since when Frieren unleashed her mana in the aura fight, it was about the same size as serie's concealed mana. In my opinion, I don't want frieren to be the strongest, It would not fit with her personality of collecting spells without caring what they do, but more so just for the sake of having them
@@SAmeez_ who knows maybe the mythic era was long enough that mages from the same era can have that big of a power gap, or she is just really non combative
Interesting you make _that_ comparison in particular. I will say that Frieren felt particularly relatable, and it's mostly because of the condition sometimes described as "time blindness". Outwardly, Frieren would probably appear more autistic than ADHD, but her perception of time as a being as old as she is was really what caught my eye. P.S. No joke, I got spooked reading a description of the show because it sounded suspiciously like the plans I had for an RP character I'd made who was specifically intended to be as much a reflection of myself as I could manage in that situation.
Frieren is basically a female version of Gojo, as is Sukuna basically a female version of Serie. For not being a straight "battle" shounen, Frieren for sure have LOTS of power fantasy "HONORED ONE" characters in it.
I agree but i'd say that the difference between gojo and sukuna is way smaller(as gojo is better than sukuna in some things) than the difference between serie and frieren
I disagree. Gojo in jjk is the undisputed strongest of his era, second strongest in the series. Frieren is actually relatively low down in the list for strongest in her verse if we consider her by herself, partly because of the more realistic match-up based system (where warriors are superior to mages in close combat) but also because she’s not really a battle mage. Serie herself said Frieren is relatively weak for her age, mostly because she doesn’t study magic just for fighting.
Cool detail in the solitar fight frieren was still analysing the diagoldts on the entire town, its implied that she was still not fighting at her fullest due to how solitar reacted to her dispelling diagolts, not to mention she wasnt pushed to the point of using that force attack.
Its insane how much i loce this anime. I normally hate slow building animes. I want action. But the story telling the vibes and the lead up to fights and seeing her power. Is so rewards and enjoyable
I kinda agree and kinda disagree. As forgottologout said, it's funny. Moreover, I'd say it's useful. Although it's unclear what THEY found funny. Personnally, it's the irony. The same goes for how it is useful. It's incredibly dumb to powerscale Frieren. Powerscaling in general is dumb, of course, anyone with one active neuron can see that. But it's ESPECIALLY dumb for this show. Which makes it precious. A precious stupidity detector. People attempting that are idiots, and we gain a lot of time identifying idiots.
@@boboyo3140 not really if u read the story even though there are fights those are never the main focus of the story. In the next arc we do see a fight but the main point is literally seeing demons are just monsters who evolved to look like humans and that they can not coexist
with how frieren practically devotes her life to studying unknown magic, it's no wonder how solitar showing off her most powerful spell led to her demise it just shows how experienced a mage like frieren is, she was able to grasp solitars spell within minutes and even called it simple afterwards lol
"Its been years" Its been specifically Around 80 YEARS ago which pretty happily lines up with when she fought THE DEMON KING skipping over that is insane
it doesn't matter, don't forget stark is stronger than friefien in terms of killing a dragon, her magic might be maxed out but her str still needs some work, hence party members are needed
@@jonathanwessner3456 Yes. Frieren can kill Stark if she attacks first and has distance. But Stark can cleaves mountains in half (eventually) and kill red dragons in a 1vs1. So if Stark attacks first Frieren would simply die. That's why it was not her alone in a journey to kill the Demon King. It was a party with powerful frontliners.
@@ACSMEX Frierens clone held off both Frieren and Fern in a battle. Frieren has not shown everything she can do. She took out that one demon like she was bored (the one with the magic thread) I think, if she wanted to, she could hold Stark off while blocking Fern. As i said, just because she made him take out the dragon doesn't mean she can't.
Great video Frieren is such an amazing Anime , I didn't know anything about it and watched it because the Jp VA cast is really good and I'm a big fan Frieren is voiced by Tanezaki Atsumi(Anya Forger) After watching Frieren it earned a spot in my top 10 all time. Frieren has that Lord of the rings vibe
You pronounce her name Solitaire like the card game or solitary confinement(kind of) As that is her character trait! Always nice to see characters who are what they call themselves.
Remember Frieren said even a decent warrior could take out Serie. With that in kind its safe to say that the main reason Nacht made her think she couldn't win was because he had skills in the close combat department. Its unclear if shes still unsure she could win in a magic only scenario but the main factor here is that he is capable of getting close enough to resort to physical combat which barriers tend to struggle against as shown in the mage exam.
To simplify things: If you challenge Frieren to a friendly duel, you might win, loose, draw. If you challenge her to a life or death fight, you will die.
I mean, uf you think about it the more spells you know, the more you can use. Especially if your creative. Just think of all the weird things she can chain together for a huge flashy attack
Finishing the anime fern and frieren remind me of kenichi and his masters. Fancy tricks and advanced level of skills is wonderful but nothing truly beats the basics. Defense is great if use princely, simple offensive magic is shown to still be the best when master, and even a simple force slam is enough to almost kill fern. But like the masters, if she needs to frieren still got a few flashy lv 4 spells that are truly terrifying.
Bro i wish she trained for the thousand years before the demon kings fall instead of doing just mana supression training because if the opponent knows you're hiding your mana it becomes almost useless
“Rookie mistake” in Friren’s case in to be expected I presume. She learnt basics a millenia ago. It was a shortcoming of old times. And she got used to it. New younger mages studied based on more modern practices and due to it didn’t had those flaws from the beginning. But for her it is to re-learn and rethink hundreds years of practice.
I assume he was stark on steroids. Stark took out a solar dragon first time in his life without any real fighting experience against monsters. So a stronger version of stark who mastered his full potential should be broken by all means
Lamento decirte que el maná de frieren no está ni cerca del de Serie, y por si aún tienes alguna duda en el manga la propia Frieren ya acepto que no puede imaginar el vencer a Serie, y la reconoció como la maga más preeminente de esta era
I see one of the main reasons Frieren pisses off Serie, is because Serie has a clear hunch that Frieren has the potential to surpass her, but she actively decides not to pursue that potential. Which also means Serie will never have the option to prove her own worth, and will simply be left without even having the chance to fight the one person who could dethrone her status.
Watching this anime, I don't think Frieren is strong because she killed many demons, but it is because instead of what cheat isekai MC would do, using overpowered skill for everything or being flashy, Frieren is being an actual classic mage like those in Harry Potter, LOTR, etc... "Use your brain" technique. Use your brain, think how to defeat your opponent, not which spell to show you're the strongest. Cheat isekai poisoned the mind of many people for decade thinking, "Oh, all you need is overpowered spells and you can win all fight." Cool, but what about a fair fight? Anyone can be as strong as Frieren or stronger than her or weaker than her yet still win. Mage is an Intelligent based class in game for a reason and people seems to be have forgotten about it. SnF, maybe Mushoku Tensei too (I didn't remember anything about it, so you know the answer) and upcoming fantasy show will remind folks once more what magic is truly about. Remember fairy tales and the good old fantasy shows.
Manga spoiler chapter 122 . . . . . . I think Frieren also loves collecting all these weird spells because of Flamme. Flamme had discovered so many magic theories that she said they would lead to the invention of more spells than even Frieren could study in her incredibly long life. I guess Frieren wants to collect as many spells as possible that exist because of her master's research and it's also her way of mourning and honoring Flamme.
I think at this point in the manga Fern would win in an even fight where they both knew where each other was and started casting at the same time because of Ferns new adaptation of Zoltraak being able to peirce defensive spells (honestly I don't think you can call it Zoltraak anymore, she's gotta name it already lol)
@@Nine_Guinea_Pigs I mean this more as a wonder and to highlight Ferns growth that it can even be a wonder. In a real fight nobody would walk 10 pace turn and fire. It's super unrealistic. As we see time and agien frieren sets the battle up in such a way that favors her. Ie letting one zoltraak deliberately miss Denken predicting he'd use a huge flashy spell and lose track of it. She'd never put herself in a position that Fern could take advantage of her new spell. Now if Fern was able to snipe Frieren, that'd be lights out unfortunately.
@@bignoob2726I feel like some people are starting to underestimate Frieren due to what Serie said about her potential and skill at her age. But at the same time it’s coming for Serie, who’s lived 10,000+ years. Demons or other long living elves can match her, but humans should still be scared and wary of Frieren.
@@georgegobin1839 She only needs to have Curse Reversal on and Sukuna is beating himself via DE or WCS. Anyone in JJK will have a bad time agains Serie just of off that fact.
Some minor spoilers, but Serie really isn't a fair fight for Sukuna. (Minor spoilers) Curse reflection is pretty busted, and automatic so if she still has that at the time of the battle it's a sweep. She says that she has redundant defenses against curses even without it, but we don't know what they are. To put it in perspective though, Frieren states she can't imagine fighting Serie. Serie essentially toys with someone Frieren can barely consider defeating. She is by far the strongest mage we've seen in the series, and is obsessed with combat and destructive magic. She also seems to have magic hax that have yet to be explained, like catching a Zoltraak with her hands, or causing an indestructible blade to phase out of existence.
Frieren can summon a black hole and shatter reality when fighting her own clone. She can undo and reverse multiple hacks. Yet serie still calls her lacking for her age.... Serie has a spell to reverse all kinds of curses which is enough to face every JJK characters since they rely on curse energy
The unique kind of magic of every demon is extremely powerful. They are one trick ponies, but extremely powerful at that which usually makes them way stronger than they should be on terms of magic skills/mana etc alone. Kinda unfair to call people like Macht etc her skill ceiling - yes Macht might win but frieren is still a way better mage. Demon Sages are essentially novice mages who use power word kill as a cantrip
She is still much weaker than Serie. Serie might be even stronger than the Demon King. The only reason why she can't kill the Demon King is because she can't imagine a peaceful world, it also applies to Flamme who is much stronger than many demon generals combine
Fun fact Serei considers Frieren Talented but she thinks Frieren is lacking in training as her age does not reflect her strength... Because she doesn't really doesnt pursue strength but rather magic itself.
Mate couldnt just take a sec and said that there were going to be manga spoilers? You gotta know that we are plenty who only watched the anime and we dont apreciate spoilers coming outta nowhere
See, the thing here is that you heavily overestimate Frieren. Series explicitly states that Frieren is not very skilled for her age, and this is most likely because she did not hone her skills to the maximum like you claim in the video. As evident from the story so far, we know that Frieren is very leisurely with her time. She always takes her time, she likes to play around, and she loves to find new pointless things to collect. If Frieren wasn't a mage of the peaceful era, she would be very close to Serie's level by now. But she isn't, this is the entire premise of the story. The biggest thing Frieren has going for herself, however, is the fact that she is extremely smart. This makes her a very dangerous opponent, but not necessarily very powerful. This allows her to not nearly be as strong because she can decisively deal with all of her problems. The best example I could give is that if all of the first class mages are around Lv. 50-60 in an rpg game, Frieren would be Lv. 80 and Serie would be Lv. 99. It is easy to overestimate Frieren because we have no frame of reference of the height of her power, but we do know that Serie is disappointed in Frieren's progress in magic which makes it quite obvious that Frieren is still a significant margin or two below Serie's power. The only real motivating factor to being as strong as she is was because she truly hates the demons, and she did everything she could so that not only the Hero's Party would succeed, but that herself and the world was always ready to fight demons. She shared Flamme's hatred for demons and learned exactly how to counter them
Frieren is strong but not OP. She can be beaten by many people easily. Especially Warriors and Assassins. Stark if gets close enough can subdue her in a second. That's the beauty of the Frieren. It's wonderful world building and synergy of your team matters just like it would in the real world.
Frieren isn't really that strong for her age. The only thing that makes her special is her obsession for learning spells, and her mana suppression, which she was forced to learn.
It's not a shonen, so you can't measure power levels like that. It's a slice of life that portrays power and strength in a more nuanced and subtle way. Strength is demonstrated as the embodiment of other qualities, such as faith, self-belief, companionship, and even madness. Übel is capable of cutting through anything because she believes in herself and can envision herself achieving it. Fern is swift and capable ever since her first training (hitting the rock on the other side of the mountain), where something "unreachable" came to her "quickly" because she invested energy and dedication. The same applies to Frieren; her strength comes from her patience, her desire to grow, and her drive to discover. Even Serie shows growth by conceding and practicing mana concealing, using it as a pretext to assess the capabilities of her best human student and Fern. Qual was a genius among the demons, who quickly adapted after awakening to face Fern but was defeated not because he was weak or because Frieren was strong, but because she had patience, planning, and companions to help her. I believe the same will apply to the Demon King. It's not a matter of the Heroes' party being "stronger" in terms of power level, but rather due to the combination of other, more intangible factors, which seems to be the entire point of the story.
the use of random german words for names and locations was really annoying for me as a german. It nearly ruined the anime for me. why not use some standard fantasy names ??
Flamme: Frieren is a mage of peace
Frieren: I can spawn black holes and tell demons to kill themselves, lmao
"you cant truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of great violence. If you are not capable of violence, you are not peaceful, you are harmless..."
"peace is not just the mere absence of violence, its when there is a possibility of conflict, but you deliberately avoid violence and adopt peaceful methods."
.
I got your joke, and it is funny, but Flamme is correct.
How she made Aura kill herself was such a boss move. The difference is our strength is so vast that its not worth my time to kill you, so I'll have you do it for me.
What’s your opener?
Frieren: Black holes
I mean she never wanted the demons besides demons in these story only talk to decieve the humans to kill them so yeah they are like a plage so if you search piece you should kill them
The funny is that her skills are not to the max . As Serie herself said Frieren is not especially skilled for her age . It’s just that her age is so advanced that even being a B+ student at this age means it’s like having multiple PhD’s consoles to everyone else
Frieren is also a prodigy and is quite talented, if she wanted to and put more effort in she could probably have been the most powerful being in the entire universe a long time ago😭
@@Nine_Guinea_Pigs I don't think that's how it works big man.
It is exactly how it works @@boboyo3140
Frieren was the most powerful in her elf village, and she was quite young at the time, so I think she is really talented. “Not especially talented” coming from Serie means “a total genius” if anyone else said it.
Let’s not forget Frieren’s ultimate, almost unbeatable attack: Seduce
Lmao
She has an even more powerful attack: Tantrums
Seduce is only very effective against Himmel, but even Heiter and Eisen are vulnerable to Tantrums.
Wait I though it was buying...anti clothing potions😂
"Wicked woman"!
“Almost unbeatable” lmao
Always bet on her against who? Anyone? because there are opponents she loses by default

Sein is coming back to the Team!

Wait season 2 until you see a real mage battle
she not invincible as you think she is
Let's not forget that even when fighting Sölitar, Frieren was still multi tasking (analysing El Dorado to dispel it).
When did this happen in the manga?
El Dorado. She'd tell the story of how Nacht turned her arm into gold.
Himmel brought out her confidence, duh. We see it in a lot of the flashbacks from the original adventure.
True... But she did undersell herself to them. Honestly to everyone as she was taught to do to keep herself safe. Trickery to combat evil.
Frieren doesn't like battle. She likes magic and so has a very versatile skillset for fighting, but she doesn't like the fighting itself.
Yes she is PURELY from the peaceful era, and only fights to keep peace. Not for the fun of it or getting stronger by fighting stronger opponents but to keep the peace. Now imagine Lernen had lived Frieren 1000 year life so far. He would be a monster.
@@jacobmiller2663 she isn't *from* a peaceful era, she belongs to a peaceful era.

That's always just a statement of:
"Repairing would be more expensive then making a new one."
This case was no exception.
@@fenix23 lol right.
To be fair, it was repaired by an archmage who was trying to be one of the less than 50 1st class mages. So beyond repair meant that less than 50 people at most in the world could repair it, and that's assuming other 1st class makes could have all also fixed it.
WARNING this contains spoilers if you have not read the manga. Anime is not quite yet where manga is.
What I love about the Frieren vs Aura fight is she LITERALLY says “kill yourself” to Aura and because Frieren has the most mana, Aura had no choice but to obey. It’s cold and harsh and so unlike the Frieren we’ve known so far, and that’s what makes it amazing
she hate demon, that show you how much she hate demon, demon kill her whole clan
And she believe demon is irredeemable, specially after the story with himmel and the demon kids
ironically enough the biggest problem with fighting Frieren isn't her absurd strength, it's that giant collection of random-ass spells: the way they've got their magic system working makes direct contests about half and half between power and rock-paper-scissors with the contestant's own interpretation of Rule Of Cool acting as a multiplier for efficiency and/or force. thing is though?
"This is enough against mages of this era."
With Fern's ridiculous casting speed and her ability to concentrate on numerous attacks at the same time, she can overwhelm her opponents with nothing but basic magic and pure speed.
Frieren can easily be a soulsbourne boss
True😊
You wouldn't be able to defeat her if they translated all her abilities accurately.
Why am I hearing epic boss music!?
quick theory: she was called the last great mage, and there's apparantly 3(?) great mages from the mythical(?) era, one is serie, another's dead, so what if Frieren is the youngest of the great mages from the end of the mythical era and is considerably uninterested in combat, so she might be just still concealing a significant amount of her strength like Serie is.
To me. Minus looks older than even serie.
She's destined to be the last great mage because she'll outlive the age of Human magic.
To me, it sounds like anyone with adhd would love to be an elf
@@jp-gb7iq Yes, the difference is greater.

Kinda curious why frieren did not use pinacle of magic against the fight with mact and solitar???
frieren as character so wholesome
Remember Frieren said even a decent warrior could take out Serie.
With that in kind its safe to say that the main reason Nacht made her think she couldn't win was because he had skills in the close combat department. Its unclear if shes still unsure she could win in a magic only scenario but the main factor here is that he is capable of getting close enough to resort to physical combat which barriers tend to struggle against as shown in the mage exam.
To simplify things: If you challenge Frieren to a friendly duel, you might win, loose, draw. If you challenge her to a life or death fight, you will die.
Remi ds me of Faraway Paladin Season 2 when Menal Door says when a elf says wait a moment it means it could be a year.

Bro i wish she trained for the thousand years before the demon kings fall instead of doing just mana supression training because if the opponent knows you're hiding your mana it becomes almost useless
when frieren showed aura her increased mana pool, was that her max?
I think so. It also happens to be equal to Serie's restricted mana pool.
I would have asked for the spell to make anyone a elf if I was Fern. Then she could make herself an elf, and stay with Frieren for a long long time.

Im a simple man, I hear Made in Abyss OST, I like the video
I'm more interested on how strong was Himmel, to lead the party with a blunt replica of a sword.
I assume he was stark on steroids. Stark took out a solar dragon first time in his life without any real fighting experience against monsters. So a stronger version of stark who mastered his full potential should be broken by all means
Honestly, she isn't that strong, obv the most power mage is the mimic, Frieren has yet to defeat her most powerful nemesis.
Serie and Frieren's mana reserved are kinda similar but Serie is built different. But I think Frieren will catch up to Serie soon.
Cheat isekai poisoned the mind of many people for decade thinking, "Oh, all you need is overpowered spells and you can win all fight."
Cool, but what about a fair fight? Anyone can be as strong as Frieren or stronger than her or weaker than her yet still win. Mage is an Intelligent based class in game for a reason and people seems to be have forgotten about it.

Nah, she could sneak Frieren, but she's not winning a fair 1 v 1 😂
@@bignoob2726I feel like some people are starting to underestimate Frieren due to what Serie said about her potential and skill at her age. But at the same time it’s coming for Serie, who’s lived 10,000+ years. Demons or other long living elves can match her, but humans should still be scared and wary of Frieren.
IITS FLAMME WITH AN UPPERCASE E GAHHHHHHH (dont worry about me)
Frieren characters vs JJK characters randomizer when??
toji beats Frieren with prep time and I'm not even kidding.
@@boboyo3140 Yeah ok I don't think that's too crazy a claim though lol
Demon time: ❌
Frieren time: ✅
Serie The Strongest Mage In History Vs Sukuna The Strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer In History!?
Who Wins?🤔🗿👍
Serie most likely bodies the JJK verse pretty badly since (light spoilers)
She literally has anti curse magic that can turn off hax related to curses
@@georgegobin1839 She only needs to have Curse Reversal on and Sukuna is beating himself via DE or WCS. Anyone in JJK will have a bad time agains Serie just of off that fact.
Some minor spoilers, but Serie really isn't a fair fight for Sukuna. (Minor spoilers)
Curse reflection is pretty busted, and automatic so if she still has that at the time of the battle it's a sweep.
Serie. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE.
Frieren can summon a black hole and shatter reality when fighting her own clone. She can undo and reverse multiple hacks. Yet serie still calls her lacking for her age.... Serie has a spell to reverse all kinds of curses which is enough to face every JJK characters since they rely on curse energy
NO WHEN YOU SEE IT
The unique kind of magic of every demon is extremely powerful.
If Frieren wasn't open to emotions, she could be one of the strongest threats in universe!
just send a shadow warrior to catch her when she's lacking and you're good.
She is still much weaker than Serie. Serie might be even stronger than the Demon King. The only reason why she can't kill the Demon King is because she can't imagine a peaceful world, it also applies to Flamme who is much stronger than many demon generals combine
I don't think feel on sight would work if you are her target xD
She can create minuture black holes, and demon lords call her the Slayer. I would say pretty dangerous.
"higher than most human mages" as if any could even dream of touching it...
Did I hear Made In Abyss? Yes I did ;D
We hope for more fight scenes next season
s1 lacks fights scenes😢
i want to know how powerful tge OG heroes powers
Fun fact Serei considers Frieren Talented but she thinks Frieren is lacking in training as her age does not reflect her strength... Because she doesn't really doesnt pursue strength but rather magic itself.
Good manga, love it to bits.
Gets a lot of plus points cause of the German names. They can be a little spoilery tho
But sometimes they funny af 😂
I wonder how old Ciri is considering her mana is so much more than Frieren.
a little spoiler warning before the manga section would've been nice but other than that good video
Mate couldnt just take a sec and said that there were going to be manga spoilers? You gotta know that we are plenty who only watched the anime and we dont apreciate spoilers coming outta nowhere
This a nice mix from made in abyss
She shared Flamme's hatred for demons and learned exactly how to counter them
spoiler mention from the manga would be nice bro
Frieren is strong but not OP. She can be beaten by many people easily. Especially Warriors and Assassins. Stark if gets close enough can subdue her in a second.
That's the beauty of the Frieren. It's wonderful world building and synergy of your team matters just like it would in the real world.
made in abyss OST. nice
If Frieren is this OP then imagine how powerful the feet of Serie can be!!!
Step on me mommy!
so true 😭😭😭😭fr fr🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
She knew all spells.
what the fuck
so happy i found the anime that lead me to the an awesome manga!
Let's not forget that for elf standards frieren is very young, inexperienced and not really outstanding in her area
Frieren isn't really that strong for her age. The only thing that makes her special is her obsession for learning spells, and her mana suppression, which she was forced to learn.
I lowkey dont understand why English speakers cant pronounce Flamme, fun fact the E isnt silent
Holy Spoiler warning dude what the hell
the use of random german words for names and locations was really annoying for me as a german. It nearly ruined the anime for me. why not use some standard fantasy names ??
