From Aura's perspective it's like getting out-benched by a skinny looking dude that has spending decades in the gym doing nothing but lifting 5-10 lb dumbells.
I love even when they say “that’s dumb, why would you spend so much time suppressing your mana rather than get stronger?” And the answer is always the same “let’s me kill demons better”
It isn't "rather than get stronger". The mana suppression being "so dumb" is because demons have a strength based hierarchy and it is only useful if attempting to deceive someone. The only reason to practice mana suppression to the extent that Frieren has would be to deceive demons.

I love that Aura (and the audience) doesn't realize until it's already over, that it is indeed over. It's such an interesting scene because the "Boss Music" starts so we're all getting amped for this colossal magickal fight scene...and then we don't get it, however we also don't walk away too disappointed because it's SUCH A SATISFYING SCENE!
This must be fucking horrifying. You're conscious of your actions, yet you cannnot control your body as youre snout to kill yourself. Also, that crack on the sword... Well it looks like a crack, could just be her blood. We don't see the crack until the sweat drop lands on the sword. So brutal, so cool, so little care from Frieren as she gives the command.
@@jollygirl94No actually she doesn’t. In her final moments she still doesn’t accept the fact that she lost. The only pain or grief she feels is not over the loss of her life, but the massive blow to her pride.
I think she is far stronger than sire thinks too. Not saying that she is stronger by any stretch but I think she is far far stronger than she is given credit
Serie know exactly how strong frieren is......but serie think she could have been much more stronger.....or maybe surpass serie herself....so for that reason she don't like frieren....
True, but we don't know for certain what that means yet, for one, there are visible fluctuations in Serie's unsuppressed mana, and none in Frieren's. meaning Frieren (and Fern) are likely much better at suppressing their Mana than Serie, who never saw that much point to mastering it to that extent, Serie might only be suppressing like half or a third of her mana, compared to Frieren who can suppress virtually 100% of hers. Serie's definitely got more, but how much more is entirely unclear.
@@andreischultz8587 still plenty we don't know about that though, given the degree to which Frieren is suppressing her mana (nearly all of it, at all times) it's possible that it creates more fluctuations from how much is being held back, where Serie is potentially suppressing a far smaller percentage of her power and we're still seeing fluctuations, And just as Serie's student didn't notice it from Serie, we don't know if Fern has ever spotted it from Frieren, but she did spot it from Serie, it might be simple confirmation bias in favour of their respective masters that make them blind to it. Serie's might be just as detectable, if not more so than Frieren's even at a potentially lower level of suppression. Of course Serie could actually be holding back MORE of her power percentage wise than Frieren is, who knows.
"you placed my soul on the scales, Aura." This first time I watched this and she said that i was like OH FUCK HERE IT COMES....but then she decides to do the absolute most badass thing she could have done in the situation, used her own attack against her without lifting a finger.
It was an option to send her agains her race but it depends how much control do the scales have over someone and how do they control him. If Frieren orders her to: 1. go kill other demons 2. keep her mount shut and do not speak permanently and do not try to convey any information to other demons in any way 3.Avoid humans entirely, by the time Aura makes it to other demons her ability to resist will have diminished but that is if the scales effect takes hold if the subjugated target is far away which isn't explained. Frieren hates Demons too much to do this even if it were to cross her mind Edit:it is also possible that Frieren knows more about the scales then it is explained in the show, so she chooses to go for the kill, instead of making some use of Aura, even if its not sending her against demons atleast interogating her for usefull info
Those ideas may cross Frieren's mind. But Aura just cut all of those options out when she said about Himmel is already gone. It is confirmed to Frieren that, Aura still is as Demon as they last met =w=
Its far too big of a risk. We know for sure the scale have its limit, that's why she's controlling an undead army instead of a brainwashed army. Losing control of Aura is one thing, but if she manages to escape with the knowledge of Frieren's level, she would have become a bigger problem in the future.
@@hang_kentang6709, exactly. also what's the point of brainwashed Aura? Lugner said demons study one certain magic all thier life. in case of Aura its that control spell, without it she's useless and there is no proof she can use it while being controlled by it herself. also, controlled Aura by herself is a hint of Frieren's power level for demons, they see her controlled and figure out that Frieren has more mana than Aura. killing her was by far the best option.

You see, at 2:29 any other anime would have just put a still frame and hovered over it for a couple of seconds during this shot, but not frieren, they even brought life to this small 2 second shot. Thisbis why frieren is the GOAT.
There are so many small animation details in this show that elevate it to another level, like how you see part of Aura’s hair get cut and fall away when she raises the sword to her neck. Huge props to the Frieren team.
I’m so annoyed this scene was spoiled for be before i could see it myself. That shit must have been so much more wild if i didn’t know what was coming.
What I love about this world is that if Frieren walked around with her aura flaring she would most likely be killed in just a few years . This is not DBZ where having more power means you are basically unbeatable. There are thousand of rock paper scissor combinations so to say where no matter how strong you are someone can easily break you under the right circumstance. Hell Frieren herself said she oxidant imagine defeating one of the weakest mages if they fought while it was raining . But hiding and avoiding conflict until the odds facvor her got her through over a thousand years
You think Aura figured out why they call Frieren the demon slayer? (btw that detail with the cut hair~ DANG IS THAT ENGINEOUS! its not crucial but it adds gritty realism - you know exactly how sharp that darn thing is and what its gonna cut next...
The other thing i gained from this episode is a realized why the demon king tried to eradicate the elves 1000 years ago. He knew there could be more like Serie or Frieren.
Probably the most unique interpretation of Demons in any anime. They are still powerful and their weakness is nothing more than their pride in their power. Flammel abused this as she got stronger and taught Frieren.
Honestly surprising how good this scene is, considering that it is just a massive [MANA POOL]-measuring contest and whoever has the shorter [MANA POOL] loses. [THIS CONTENT HAS BEEN CENSORED FOR PUBLIC DECENCY. TO RESTORE THE ORIGINAL CONTENT, SIMPLY CONSIDER WHY MEN BUY FAST CARS AND BIG GUNS, AND WHAT THEY MIGHT BE COMPENSATING FOR]
Can someone explain... Does the "scales" spell prevent magic from being cast and whoever the stronger mana pool can dictate what goes on? Why when Frieren says kill yourself she actually does it? It doesn't seem like she casts a spell but Aura is reluctantly chopping her own head off. What's going on every other spell I've seen you can tell something was cast. She literally just says kill yourself with her back turned and yet Aura still does it, why?
Because when Aura's uses her scale to compare her mana against someone else's mana, the one who has higher mana pool will be able to control the actions of the one with the lesser mana. Aura was confident that her mana pool was way more than Frieren's (because Frieren concealed her true mana pool). SO, at the end Frieren revealed her mana and that's why she could control the actions of Aura and hence, "Kill yourself".
Yknow at first i was like "why would suppressing mana be pointless after all it would trick enemies" then after reading the manga*spoilers alert* Gigantic Oppressive mana pools serve as extra magic defense as it nullifies some of the magic in a spell or outright nullifies the spell before it damages the person(the chapter where they fight solitar), suppressing it is equal to saying "I took off my battle armor".
Someone explain what does the ⚖️ do? Exactly? After it tipped completely to frieren's side aura's eyes had a noticeable change that looks hypnotized almost. Does that mean that the winner gets to have the loser as their puppet and she chose to end her life because of her verifying that she's a monster that needed to be slain?
aura explains it in the full episode, but essentially it weighs two 'souls', or aura's soul against frieren's in this case. whoever has the stronger 'soul' (aka more magic power) takes mental control of the other and can order the other to do anything. aura amassed an army of former human heroes using this method since she's a 500 year old greater demon with corresponding amounts of mana. however, if she ever lost to someone with more mana, they would take control of her and possibly her army of humans as well. the reason why this is so risky (if aura loses on the scales, she falls under the control of the winner) is specifically because it lets her take complete total control. magic in frieren's system is partially predicated on risk, kind of like nen in hxh - the more risky and dangerous to the user it is, the more powerful it is. aura miscalculated frieren's mana and lost the scale battle, letting frieren order her to kill herself. and of course, well. frieren the slayer is called that by demons for good reason. the army of former heroes behind aura speaks for itself, and frieren absolutely _hates_ demons. letting aura live was unquestionably off the table, and this method of killing her with her own pride and magic instead of fighting her in a straight fight was not only cruel in keeping with frieren's hatred, but also let her preserve the bodies of the human army for burial later.

It's such an interesting scene because the "Boss Music" starts so we're all getting amped for this colossal magickal fight scene...and then we don't get it, however we also don't walk away too disappointed because it's SUCH A SATISFYING SCENE!
Best scene in anime the year 2023
Bruh, Frieren vs clone Frieren is much better
@@davidwithoutd80762023😊

This must be fucking horrifying. You're conscious of your actions, yet you cannnot control your body as youre snout to kill yourself.
Also, that crack on the sword... Well it looks like a crack, could just be her blood. We don't see the crack until the sweat drop lands on the sword. So brutal, so cool, so little care from Frieren as she gives the command.
Now she can feel, what her victims feels before their eminent doom.
@@jollygirl94No actually she doesn’t. In her final moments she still doesn’t accept the fact that she lost. The only pain or grief she feels is not over the loss of her life, but the massive blow to her pride.
@@furankiglowing7278 Its true she lost her pride. I meant she and her victims died the same way, by decapitation.
Thank you for posting this
It’s aura’s perspective as she watches Frieren walk away as her head falls to the ground

Love how Aura decided to take on the elf WHO DEFEATED THE DEMON KING
Still the most goosebump part in season 1. Love it❤
Coolest scene in the entire series.
She said the gamer words. 2:38
pls post fern vs lugner and stark vs linnie! thanks for these videos!
the soundtrack gives me goosebumps!
Flamme's voice actress was perfect for this role. Glad she had this for us to enjoy.
this is cinema
I think she is far stronger than sire thinks too. Not saying that she is stronger by any stretch but I think she is far far stronger than she is given credit
yea, Serie difinitely underestimate her. Frieren is weaker than Serie, but stronger than Serie thinks she is.
Serie know exactly how strong frieren is......but serie think she could have been much more stronger.....or maybe surpass serie herself....so for that reason she don't like frieren....
Frieren made me feel like a kod again. One of the few anime i was excitedly anticipating every week 😂
Absoluty cinema.
frieren max mana output is equal to serie supressed mana
True, but we don't know for certain what that means yet, for one, there are visible fluctuations in Serie's unsuppressed mana, and none in Frieren's. meaning Frieren (and Fern) are likely much better at suppressing their Mana than Serie, who never saw that much point to mastering it to that extent,
Serie might only be suppressing like half or a third of her mana, compared to Frieren who can suppress virtually 100% of hers. Serie's definitely got more, but how much more is entirely unclear.
@@Omnipotentmonkey Actually in the recent episodes it shown that Frieren fluctuations are more visible then Series
@@ShizenKami-xd8fj Where did it show that?
@@Omnipotentmonkey 27th i think? serie's student noticed frieren is supressing mana, but not serie
@@andreischultz8587 still plenty we don't know about that though,
given the degree to which Frieren is suppressing her mana (nearly all of it, at all times) it's possible that it creates more fluctuations from how much is being held back, where Serie is potentially suppressing a far smaller percentage of her power and we're still seeing fluctuations,
And just as Serie's student didn't notice it from Serie, we don't know if Fern has ever spotted it from Frieren, but she did spot it from Serie, it might be simple confirmation bias in favour of their respective masters that make them blind to it. Serie's might be just as detectable, if not more so than Frieren's even at a potentially lower level of suppression.
Of course Serie could actually be holding back MORE of her power percentage wise than Frieren is, who knows.
1:43 when your randoms throw an easy fight
"you placed my soul on the scales, Aura." This first time I watched this and she said that i was like OH FUCK HERE IT COMES....but then she decides to do the absolute most badass thing she could have done in the situation, used her own attack against her without lifting a finger.
Legit one of the coldest moments in anime, takes cool guys don't look back at explosions to new heigthts
I could watch this over and over and over and laugh every time.
God fucking dam how awesome is the music
Yep. It was a great scene already but the music made it even more incredible.
Frieren hates Demons too much to do this even if it were to cross her mind
Edit:it is also possible that Frieren knows more about the scales then it is explained in the show, so she chooses to go for the kill, instead of making some use of Aura, even if its not sending her against demons atleast interogating her for usefull info
@@hang_kentang6709 Frieren is also too hatred-driven to let a single demon live. Any demon she sees she must be eradicated off the face of the earth.
@@thenewguyinred Hatred driven? She was the sole survivor when her village was massacred by demon, she would have died too if Flamme didn't atomize the three demons that arrived to finish the job and what did she do after her master's passing? live in seclusion for a few hundred years until Himmel and co found her.
What?! IT'S OVER 9000!!! (they really like do the 'hide your power' thing in anime. Seen it so many times.)
Low Tier Frieren moment
Yeah, I mean why would she do that? Just because *checks notes* demons wiped out her entire village and are just monsters capable of speech?
I love that your comment has convinced RUclips that it needs to be translated into English. Someday, the slang will make our words capable of outsmarting the AI overlords.
Most of Frieren's fights can be summed up with the phrase: "It's over, young'un."
Aura looks so cute when she was afraid.
Flamme, speaking in the language that demons understand, to manipulate and defeat them.
You see, at 2:29 any other anime would have just put a still frame and hovered over it for a couple of seconds during this shot, but not frieren, they even brought life to this small 2 second shot. Thisbis why frieren is the GOAT.
It's not that hard, just randomised movement and "shadow" will do the trick
@@darmoali4533 I know it's simple but no other show does it, they simply put up a picture and hover around it.
This scene was spoiled by you clicking to watch it. You're stupid.
i saw the "Raid Boss Frieren" clip on Crunchyroll channel and thought "spoilers for this anime in now forbidden, anime goblin mode activated" 😂😂
Something that never occurred to me before is that she has so much mana it influences her surroundings without even being used as a spell.
Shadow Wizard Money Gang moment
A METAPHORICAL MASTERPIECE
Aura got out grannied. Frieren is the granniest granny.
The other thing i gained from this episode is a realized why the demon king tried to eradicate the elves 1000 years ago. He knew there could be more like Serie or Frieren.
When Aura sees what real aura is!
Probably the most unique interpretation of Demons in any anime. They are still powerful and their weakness is nothing more than their pride in their power. Flammel abused this as she got stronger and taught Frieren.
Frieren did an Anatoly on Aura 😂
De las mejores escenas 😅
Honestly surprising how good this scene is, considering that it is just a massive [MANA POOL]-measuring contest and whoever has the shorter [MANA POOL] loses.

that is the Hardest move in all of anime History
Frieren displays professional demon racism, the only kind of racism I can get behind.
Please explain why was AURA crying at the end? Thanks in advance.
Finally some emotion.
How to write a likable boss female. If only Disney would listen :)
yes
Aura looked so cute when she cried
If it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid.
BANGER
2:55. EPIC ASFK.
"Aura, debut as a Nijisanji Vtuber."
Yknow at first i was like "why would suppressing mana be pointless after all it would trick enemies" then after reading the manga*spoilers alert*
Gigantic Oppressive mana pools serve as extra magic defense as it nullifies some of the magic in a spell or outright nullifies the spell before it damages the person(the chapter where they fight solitar), suppressing it is equal to saying "I took off my battle armor".
The pacing of this show is excellent, the fight scenes are fantastic, and actual character development, Hollywood is dead, watch anime instead.
Aura (pub stomper) vs Frieren (comp player)
Lancer ga shinda!
It would be epic if Frieren actually did not release her full mana here as precaution of any other demonkind spying on her.
Thanks! But how were you able to upload it on RUclips without any single scene was cut? Was it edited to avoid copyright issues🤔 ?
it doesn't look or sound edited tbh, it's like the original
アウラちゃん番長のフリーレンさんにぼっこぼこにされるの巻
And that's still not 100% for her. It's so fuckin good
What's even unbelievable is Serie suppressed mana is Frieren entire mana,
Tbf, Serie could be equally talented as Frieren. She must have been freakishly strong 1,000 years ago already, when Flamme was her student.
