Nice video; it caught my eye as I was at Waddesdon yesterday with my wife. We're very lucky as we live in Hertfordshire which is only an hour away. The only thing that spoils it a little is the latest art exhibition out on the front lawn - one of the pieces is an 8 foot tall packet of cigarettes that's embedded in a wooden chair. Anyway, if anyone is considering a visit, you'll have to wait till the new year as they shut up shop later on today.

Regarding the viewings, total viewings are now 1,148,000 on my channel which staggers me too, 10,000 a week now, simply amazing... And together the relationship expressed through architecture became timeless a word so cheaply found in today's world while describing a residence.Even the billionaires cannot re create class.Only emulate. Sad really.
I'd like to see inside as well. Its hard to find videos of the insides of palaces, etc. They are usually of the gardens, fountains, and Guards if there are any. The outside is nice though.
I assume that the family was able to keep the place to themselves if they wanted to, but the Baron thought it wise to let the National Trust to take possession of the estate, to avoid the family standing out when other nobilities were struggling to keep theirs to themselves.

It is absolutely stunning inside, unfortunately the National Trust who own and administer Waddesdon do not allow any photography inside due to the effects of flash light on delicate materials and colours...
Can you imagine that England is dotted with these incredible manor homes and grand estates with all the history that goes with them? It's beyond my comprehension. In another lifetime I will spend a year visiting each and every one. It would take two weeks just to tour Althorp, Princess Diana's ancestral home.
Fine film-making...try your hand at a truly interesting castle; the Peles in Romania....and there is an incredibly engineered castle in Spain that deserves a lot more attention, than pandering to Rothschilds.

A french chateau made of Cotswold lime stone. The only shame is the interior design. But the exterior is beautiful :)
The interior is very " high victorian" as the house is only 130-40 years old approx.
