I Want to Hold Your Hand - The Beatles

Released near the end of 1963, this one and She Loves You (from '63 released as a single) competed for number one in the early months of 1964 - each song having the honor for a while. Meet The Beatles / Lennon and McCartney changed everything from there on . . . of course they had Love Me Do and Please Please Me a little before this one if I remember correctly. It's a long story, but really it all happened in about eight years time, all of the well-known albums and records they made while together... which makes it all even more amazing when you think about it.
