@@TolleGarage I did a comparison test yesterday. Cleaned both cars with alcohol. Sprayed and let cars sit overnight (15 hours). Later, I sprayed both cars with Mr Surfacer 1500. Let sit for 3 hours. Result: Car with the Mr Metal Primer undercoat scratches easily; the one with the Duplicolor adhesion promoter scratches with difficulty. Will try the scratch test again tomorrow morning to see if longer curing time changes the results.

That looks pretty good, will try it. I was able to find Mr. Hobby Primer, but not Primer-R. Is that the same stuff? Do you heat the can in warm water or (both primer and color)?

Mr. Hobby paints created for plastic models. The paints can't stick perfectly on the metal surfaces. That's why Mr. Hobby made Mr. Metal Primer.
Yes I am always warming up the cans, to increase the pressure.

Honestly I don't know. I never did that before. But mr metal primer designed for metal surfaces. I think it can work with your primer also.

Diton warnanya lbh banyak dan menarik, tp clearnya b aja gak sebagus samurai 1k ato sapporo 1k. Sapporo jg bagus, warnanya banyak. Bebas sih, asal jangan diton tapi clearnya samurai, karna pasti catnya pecah setelah seminggu. Jd mending 1 brand aja. Saya lbh banyak pakai diton krna warnanya lbh menarik, cuma clearnya mmg harus 2-3 layer.

Kyknya harus pakai clear coat yg keras. Utk kalengan kyknya gak ada. Atau bs pakai samurai yg 2K. Tapi itu 1x pakai aja, soalnya ada hardenernya. Jd abs dipake ga bs disimpan.

I see many guys polish thier car bodies to a high luster before painting... this is a mistake. You need a little tooth for the paint to bite.
