- Drive-By Truckers formed in Athens, Georgia 20 years ago, and the band's been exploring the music and culture of the American South ever since. Their new album continues that tradition, with a piercing look at issues of race and police brutality. "CBS This Morning: Saturday" co-host Anthony Mason spoke with founding members Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley about their journey.
There's a sensitivity and a literacy to everything the Truckers do. I think this is one of the great American rock bands.
This is my favorite band I've loved their music since the early years. I'm from Oregon and they aren't very well known here. I'm still a strong fan. One of kind and really amazing
Patterson lives in Portland now
DBT are great and have been releasing quality music for an age
New album is fantastic and always have an interesting take on life in the South
Love Cooley's take on everything
Saw DBT last night at Pickathon 2017. Mind blowing.
"i'm finally getting he hang of this" - that is so funny, as good as they have always been. they really did take a MASSIVE leap forward in ALL areas w. American Band.
I went to UCC and that song GUNS OF UMPQUA is still helping me work thru that nightmare. But it does irk me some that the interviewer doesn't bother asking him about this masterpiece when he brought up the old Times article. Oh well. DBT's forever!
a truly great band .
I love me some Drive by Truckers ♡
Awesome dudes!
And girl! ;)
Such an amazing duo.... so proud to be an HeAthen... just sayin...
Probably more the deeper in, for you.
Isbell @ 2:07 hahaha
Bummer to see them get love for boring songs and basic shilling instead of all the great, complex work they've done over the years.
3:01 ok first of all that’s the battle flag not the confederate flag the confederate flag is a different thing it’s got red white blue and stars that go in circles
3:02 - That flag was the symbol of the Democrat party
Hard edge with intelligence... DBT are it..
