Man, 2003 Coldplay live was something to behold. No glitz, no glamour, no costumes, just 4 guys, their instruments and some of their most powerful and emotional songs. Don't get me wrong, I really do still enjoy Coldplay nowadays, but I feel these older shows just had something so special about them - something so organic. I don't think they've written anything in the last few years which even comes near to the emotional depth that many of the songs off A Rush Of Blood To The Head possessed.

Ross Parker I totally get you man I feel the same. I've loved coldplay's recent work, tbh some I needed to adjust to but I retract to this concert and I'm reminded what it first was like viewing and listening to this euphoric experience. Their live sound was top notch! Still is I've seen them three times live but I so wish I could revisit this concert in person. To me this is their best passionate and emotional performance

Oh, man! If you ever look for a thing/moment/place/anything who can explain what the most ruthless nostalgia feels like, is the Old Coldplay. It's like to remember how happy you was with your ex GF or former friends in the past. You know they are still out there. They are not dead. Maybe you can visit them, call them or send them a message, but you know there's no way things are going to be the same again. There's no way to turn back time.
We know that Old Coldplay will never come back. Probably there are dozens of amazing songs that we never will listen live again. We know they are still out there, and at the same time we know it never gonna be the same again.

I really wish this song was used in Joker's ending scene, as he's in the police car looking at all the chaos. I mean, lyrics like "I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn, do back all the things it did to you in return" and "I'm gonna buy a gonna gun and start a war" just describe the moment perfectly. All that chaos started with Arthur having a gun, and he got back at the city for everything he went through in there.
I feel like it's that there's a kind of peace in chaos that very few things in life can transmit, but this song and that scene really achieve it!

    [Lyric]
He said I'm gonna buy this place and burn it down
I'm gonna put it six feet underground
He said I'm gonna buy this place and watch it fall
Stand here beside me baby, in the crumbling walls
Oh, I'm gonna buy this place and start a fire
Stand here until I fill all your heart's desires
Because I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn
Do back the things it did to you in return
    Ah, ah, ah, ah
He said I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war
If you can tell me something worth fighting for
Oh, and I'm gonna buy this place, that's what I said
Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head
Honey, all the movements you're starting to make
See me crumble and fall on my face
And I know the mistakes that I made
See it all disappear without a trace
And they call as they beckon you on
They said start as you mean to go on
Start as you mean to go on
He said I'm gonna buy this place and see it go
Stand here beside my baby, watch the orange glow
Some'll laugh and some just sit and cry
You just sit down there and you wonder why
So I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war
If you can tell me something worth fighting for
And I'm gonna buy this place, that's what I said
Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head
    Oh, to the head
Honey, all the movements you're starting to make
See me crumble and fall on my face
And I know the mistakes that I made
See it all disappear without a trace
And they call as they beckon you on
They say start as you mean to go on
As you mean to go on, as you mean to go on
So meet me by the bridge, meet me by the lane
When am I gonna see that pretty face again
Meet me on the road, meet me where I said
    Blame it all upon
A rush of blood to the head

Saludos

wow i miss this so much. This is so unreal I don't know whether to cry or smile watching in the end a bit of both. This brings back so many troubling/amazing memories of when I was a teenager and moved country and the pain I went through as I listened to this album but also a comforting pain.

Seeing Coldplay in Marley Park, Dublin, early 2000, I wanted to hear this song so much - for me, it is just pure Coldplay at their best.
Aside, the concert was amazing, and like others who have commented on here, I am hooked on their first 3 albums...
