"I don't talk at all. I just do guitar solos."
He's so amazing
He's as amazing as quiet!
@@darioromano2872 exactly!☺
One of the most underrated guitarist of all time.
The second part is out now, go to watch it!
He's a decent guitarist, but that band's (coldplay) style of playing doesn't require him to do some crazy solo stuff like a7x, trivium or any other band that did a lot of solos. Ambience-styled guitar playing suits Coldplay the best. Me as a young guitarist learn both of those style of playing just to make my playing more versatile.
Lol🤣🤣🤣
Hendrix crying in grave
He is a trash guitarist
Who said guitar players need to perform 10 notes per second to be good? One note played with emotion is better than anything else. Thank you Jonny for making me cry with just one note. You're awesome man.
Some people just like guitarrists with long hair which play a lot of solos and look like a rockstar but I love how Jonny play for his band and not for himself. He is amazing and I love watching this video again and again.
Totally agree with you, especially when you said "Jonny plays for his band and not for himself" :)
There are of plenty of guitarists without long hair
12:57 Cemeteries of London is out of this world. His guitar solo really gives off a haunted cemetery vibe. It's literally perfection
Jonny is a LEGEND
Fatima Al-smari Yes I saw them in Milan yesterday, and Jonny was on fire!
The second part is out now, go to watch it!
Dario Romano I saw them in Paris last July and I screamed so loud at the guitar solos
Yeah they're amazing in live!!!
Jx
got to give props to will champion for going absolutely mental on the drums on "god put a smile" that whole segment just exploded with energy
Chris Maltman Absolutely agree!! He put all his best in every performance!
@@darioromano2872 100% i wouldnt say he is a technically skilled.drummer he mostly plays in 4/4 but he can hold a beat and is a solid solid hitter
@@chrismaltmanmusic in the precedent comment I meant "his" but the corrector...
@@chrismaltmanmusic that’s because he was a guitarist, but they didn’t have a drummer and had 3 people who could play guitar, so he just started playing drums. I’m pretty sure he’s self taught, and also Coldplay don’t really do complicated songs, because I mean less is more
If I had a pound for every guitarist I know who has smugly taken great pleasure in telling me how shit they think Jonny Buckland is and Coldplay are I wouldn't have to work for a living. Not only are those pricks far too big for their own boots but they're wrong. They would do well to dump their meaningless, endless arpeggios and shreds and actually learn something from Jonny's restraint and tasteful song-oriented playing. What he does always works in the space and that's a real skill. He uses reverb and delay to tremendous effect. He's also written some of the most unassumingly iconic guitar lines in contemporary music. You get my vote Jonny Buckland 🙌🏼
such an underrated guitarist, he's so talented and passionate. Besides his personality, he's amazing
And today is his birthday, he's the best :)
Dario Romano yes! today i've been watching compilations of his best riffs/slides and can't believe how incredible he is! he turns 41 today 💘
@@intthesky Look the second part of the video too! :)
guitar solo in AROBTTH from LIVE 2003 always give me shiver, goosebump
Chen Frank Same to me, Jonny makes an amazing, wonderful sound!

"Don't you shiver"
Jonny Buckland is a Guitar God!
Brenda B Yeah, you said it!
And Jimi hendrix?
God bless you. Lmao
@@jaciel3721Different styles
Jonny, in a class of his own, definitely. His solo on Yellow and Fix you, to die for.
Jonny Boy being the best 🤩
I can definitely hear some of the inspiration drawn from The Edge from U2 in his work. Less is more. And he makes it his own by incorporating slide and creating atmospheric noises come from his guitar. He will always be a guitarist dear to my heart.
jared.labrecque Yes, and he created his own style unique. No one sounds like him.
I am listening to Coldplay and U2 and I think that Jonny gets a lot of inspiration from them.
Johnny it's one of those guys who "talks" little (with his guitar) but says a lot. I really love his sound
Reminds me of Gilmour a little. Always loved that style.
Jonny's personality comes through in the way he plays guitar. He is all about making a song better and what he can contribute. Not what makes him look good but what makes the band look good. Complements Chris' personality so well which gets the best out of both of them.
All round talented, good guy who found what he was meant to do in the way he was meant to do it. Brilliantly and understated.
The song Up & Up has a beautiful riff.
Whaaaat without high speed? That is definitely one of the best guitar riff I've heard in Coldplay's songs.
沈慧雯 High Speed is in the second part! :)
My bad. Gotta watch it right away. It makes sense though that Jonny's best solos, riffs and slides cannot be put in one single video.
Met him once, he was doing his dry cleaning. Down to earth, normal bloke. Extremely tall.
Little known fact: Jonny has struggled with hand injuries over the years which have forced him to avoid Van Halen-like dramatics and keep it simple. Still, his guitar work is brilliant and he's created some of the most recognisable riffs in modern music.
I appreciate this man so much.
Thank you so much!
Riff of ‘talk’ is wonderful
My childhood song :)

I got to hear Jonny’s amazing “in my place “ and “fix you “ and “yellow “ solos live recently and I cried ,I love Jonny and it was a magical experience,Jonny please keep being you ❤
Amsterdam is one of my fav Coldplay songs and his playing on that is amazing. Especially live. Ugh. So good and filled with emotion!
I spent my whole life looking for this video
Hehe, thanks! ;D
Best Songwritter & Guitarist
Add all the kaleidoscope tracks. They all have wonderful Jonny
The second part is out now, go to watch it!
I m french and was born in 2004. I discover coldplay songs of 2011 like Paradise but not the old songs. I really like Jonny and i m drummer in a rock band where we play old coldplay songs
he may never be the best, he probably won’t even be close to being the best. Despite this, the way he sounds, how “selfless” his playing is, it’s still incredible and it will be a sound I will love forever.
There's another really awesome guitar solo in Hurts Like Heaven which is so cool
Yeah, that scale is insane!
Jonny is a great guitarist. His solos and riffs are amazing.
To the uploader; you have impeccable taste. Awesome list!

well i think talk is the best as guitar
y así algunos dicen que coldplay no es rock, no saben nada
Why is it that everyone I know who's never picked up a musical instrument think Coldplay are the best thing since sliced bread, and every musician I know can't stand them? Me, I'm on the fence. Jonny definitely has his moments, and for me the best Coldplay songs are the ones which put his guitar front and centre. But let's face it, Matt Bellamy from Muse is a league better than Chris & Jonny combined. Too much Coldplay sounds like Songs of Praise with the amps and tempo turned up a bit... maybe that's why so many people love it?? Coloratura is hands down amazing tho...
Coldplay is the best thing simply cause they can touch your heart, your soul with a simple note of their music. That's why their music is magic, special and the best.
@@darioromano2872 Except for Coloratura and a handful of other tracks, they use the most obvious chord progressions and melodies. It's just so... safe. It's Songs Of Praise for atheists. Muse, on the other hand... as it happens I just wrote a comment on Muse's 'Map Of The Problematique', so I'll just leave it here: 'Apocalyptic Muse lyrics in 2022... doesn't make us feel better about anything, but certainly help us to appreciate the magnitude of the situation we're in. 'I feel like everything I sow is being swept away, well I refuse to let you go...' could be talking about the challenge of sustaining an intimate relationship as the world falls apart. Or could be crop failure due to climate change, but the farmer refuses to lose faith in Mother Nature... or it could be the fragile peace between NATO and Russia, all the post-Cold War treaties going the way of the dodo but we refuse to let go of belief that nobody would be deranged enough to launch a nuclear weapon ever again..... Matt's lyrics are often multivalent. He actually has something to say. How some people 'prefer Coldplay' I will never understand....'
I think you need to know and study Coldplay career from the first two ep safety and blue room to nowadays. You probably don't know the meaning of their songs and the story of each one. They helped the make trade fair and other associations with their music. The song Politik, for make an example, has an incredible story and meaning. It's complicated to make you know that every song of them is a piece of art and story of music. Study them, watch their movie, read their books, then you will know what I'm speaking about. Anyway I like the band Muse too, but I don't know why you are comparing both bands.
Muse is irrelevant compared to Coldplay lmao😂😂 Chris alone is more popular than all of muse members combined you idiot
This is just a worse version of the Edge.
shame on you
