Plenty of D4 players already played POE. I'm most tired of D4, LE and POE Andy's. These games are seasonal or league based; those who really enjoy the genre play multiple different ARPGs.
Arguably the best change of PoE 2 IMO. I have over 2000 hours in PoE 1 and I never really crafted at all. I just saved my currency and traded for the items I needed. With currency being more common I look forward to actually crafting as the devs intended.

That way when the game goes from early acces to it's official release if you will follow a guide it will be way more easier for you because you will understand why the build tells you to use a certain unique armour for example that has a specific mod that enhances your main skill. Many times if you follow a guide blindly w/o understanding why it works that way you will eventualy get stuck and wont be able to figure out why your dmg output isnt as high as in the guide or why are you dying every 30 seconds.

for All classes and builds to have an easy life in the campaign for example you need life and as close to max ressistances as possible. other mods depend on the specific build you're playing for example for a bow build you would like attack speed
Look for resistances and life if you don’t have already high damage mitigation from some other items or nodes. Also high damage. Usually you have to craft a lot to get it to what you want.

Not sure I'm a fan of essences. Take cold for example, may get cold res, cold % dmg, or cold flat dmg. And not being able to roll back rarity, you got a fair chance to brick the item and need a whole new base and essence. Are crafting sessions going to be gather a quad tab of body armor, transmute them all to your liking, alt them all to your liking, essence all, then take what survives that for the next step? I'd much prefer to spam a crafting material than that.
A large amount of this depends on the item mod pools. It seems like they've been greatly pared down. I'm glad we have some deterministic ways to craft to work with, and I'm optimistic that it will feel good in the end. You have to consider some things too - even if you hit the mod, it might be a lower tier, so there will always be some sort of RNG to deal with even then. Still, Annuls and Chaos orbs exist for when you do hit, and with the metacrafting options, there's a lot more ways to work on your items beyond just Essences.
You can influence the odds of essences as well via for example omens (possibly), or by adding a different affix, for example adding a suffix to the item via an omen + one of the other orbs, and then the essence is guaranteed to hit only 1 item. But yes, it is very possible, likely even, that you would end up 'wasting' an essence and not get what you want, then you can remove mods and start higher RNG crafts on the same base, or get a new base and try again. Good to keep in mind that crafting is extremely large in PoE, and what is shown in this video is just scratching the surface. However, PoE2 is making it more approachable and simplifying some parts of it, especially with more early/midgame items, so you can mess around a lot more with it.
I am glad that i started playing ARPGs with Diablo 4. I started to play in november last year and got 1.2k hours already, i loved it. But of course, after understanding the game, and being the type of person who likes to learn and make his own builds, D4 is just bad but at least i've learned a lot about thr core of ARPG games. Can't wait for POE2 to come on console as well so i can blast it, don't know when this is going to be.
Do you think the orbs of chance can be used to get maybe a better item (at least on start) when you don't have any good item and you don't know what you are looking for Might be lucky to get a rare item - might be better than what I am currently wearing
I doubt GGG will reveal the tree and ascendancies prior to the launch, so probably - not. Also there will be no Path of Building tool for poe2 from the begining to theorycraft builds.
I doubt it. There will prob be some speculative guides here and there, and if you want to follow one of those, you do you. But.. I would highly recommend just play the game at your own pace, try to figure stuff out. It's early access. There is no race, and stuff will have big changes, just enjoy it
I’ve been a Diablo 4 fan since release… it’s been a grind. I’ve already deleted it to play this and have been playing PoE all week in preparation (yes I know it’s different)
Seems POE2 is way more complex than diablo. I’ve never played POE but looks fantastic. I feel like I can actually make a build just the way I want to play.
All of your statement is basically true. The only thing is that Poe2 might be easier for new players to get into, since the game is completely new and you don't have to learn about 11 years of convoluted mechanics lol
yea, the original PoE is insanely complex, take everything you saw here and multiply it by a thousand but I don't wanna scare you :D They put a lot of effort to make it much more accessible in PoE 2
And build variety is pretty much endless. There are meta builds of course but leagues (seasons) usually have an avalanche of changes. The only thing you're limited by is the class you picked which ties you to the starting place in the passive tree (it's huge and the same for every class) and your ascendancies (specialisations). Other than that you're free to go. Wanna have a fully plated sorceress with a two hand mace - no probs, I'm sure someone's already done that. Just as I was typing it I found a build for a witch with a fucking claymore lmao
One thing I’m curious about that Diablo 4 has that Poe 1 does not was when I played with my girl whether split screen or multiplayer we didn’t share loot meaning what drops on the ground was automatically randomly assigned for each of our classes. Did they change for this to happen in Poe 2 or am I going to be arguing whether or not who should get what drops.
See, the weird part is, Exalts are dropping like candy for me. It's the Chaos Orbs I can't seem to get to drop. I've gotten like 50-60 Exalts to drop and I'm still in early maps. I've gotten two Chaos Orbs. Yet somehow, Chaos Orbs seem to be going for less than Exalts. Make it make sense lmao
So, if it's common to only have a couple Uniques combined with Rares, are Uniques really that build-defining? The database only shows a handful that seem impactful or game changing. I will add that I am completely new to Path of Exile, haha.
There are starter uniques which help you to progress through the campaign or early end-game, and there are end-game uniques, which you can use to make a build around them, basically. Not every unique fit every build, but there are very strong uniques which you can use until you make your bis crafted rare or there are build-defining uniques, which works the same as in d4.
Can you not revert rarity with omens, say you get a 3 mod rare, you could use the omen to remove 1/1 suffix hence going back to a magic 2/2 prefix? or vice versa
As someone with more than 8000 hours on POE I can't wait for Wudi to be better than me at POE2 1 week after launch :D But I'm enjoying being in the position of "this mofo has no idea what he's talking about" for now.
@@CrystalStearOfTheCas it's extremely basic, anyone who has played POE 1 should have picked it up from the reveal. It's literally the same orbs as POE 1, other than chaos being changed. You needed a video to know you transmute and augment?
If you upgrade your item from normal to magic or magic to rare, is there a risk that you raise the level / stat requirement and can no longer equip it?
each item has item level based on level of the locatoin and monster which has dropped it. if you can equip a dropped base - means it will roll mods only within the range which fits that item level.
So instead of all this diversity and crafting depth D4 can only suggest you to re-roll 1 stat again and again and again and again until you either run out of gold or die in cringe?
Just heads up PoE2 will be same thing. You are pretty much needed to use 3rd party websites and tools to figure out what is possible with your gear and what you can except to get with tinkering. Sadly this part is not new player friendly. I was hoping this change but its PoE centric and seems to stay like that forever. It is easier to jump into PoE2 but engame system and gearing is a lot more complicated still than D4.
Stop comparing Poe with D4 please. Those are different type of arpgs. Poe requires using ur brain meanwhile d4 is not. Diablo is meant to be for the 40-60 years old backseatgamer and has its own playerbase.
Great vid, maybe you can make a guide "Cry in Poe2" , ive never seen so much ppl crying, But to watch some good vids of Wudijo or something else nooooooo whyyyy!? why to watch this great video about crafting? naaaah better to cry in game.... watch this and more till your brains sore and than go play :-) great vid Wudijo , everytime I learn someting, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little less, but there is always something I dont know. keep it up
Not only do stash tabs transfer from poe 1 to poe 2, but buying early acess gives u 30 dollars worth of currency to spend on microtransactions including stash tabs.
I'm glad there has been a lot of begenner content so far. My hope for POE2 is that new players from other games will be treated as an asset instead of a liability by the community. Don't get mad at ignorant people. Instead, refrain from negative or hurtful comments, and if you so choose, teach them why POE2 is different than the other games they've played. If we as a community can do this, it will help the actual company grow. Face it, this game is pulling gamers all over into its orbit. Let's not be jerks. Think of the people at GGG who put their blood sweat and tears into this game. Let's not chase the new people away ❤
My advice to new players, follow guides from experienced POE players, not from Diablo creators, who are btw very good in those games, but now try to surf on the POE2 hype to earn their income. Guys like POEGuy, Peuget2, Zizarian etc
there are no confirmed ratios. And it is all different for each unique rareness to hit and each base item type you apply it on, and what is the uniques pool for the base type (e.g. there can be 10 uniques for belts and only 1 for amulet, so chances to hit random unique on belt will be higher). Most powerful uniques are quite impossible to chance with the orb, odds are 1 to thousands. But some starter uniques are quite possible, like 1:100 or so.
I'm a D4 bad guy but the dude is literally trying to learn the game and bring his audience to PoE 2. Why bash him for it? He isn't doing this video for us seasoned PoE players.
@@j.d.3890 I'm old school and I prefer the D2 style - strongest weapons are uniques and you target grind areas for them. crafting - maybe like the D2 Reimagined mod - you can improve specific attributes for certain and not constantly risk of bricking your weapon. ability to slowly improve weapons as you play and remove that random factor, messing you up all the time. poe1 you need all stars to align so you can roll a good rare with 6 good attributes lol
People that got access to the game early for review purposes had to sign an agreement to not make guides from that access GGG can't just order someone to do or not do something 😂
*"Beginner's" guide btw.* 🤣 *If Path of Exile was easier to understand, it would be A LOT more popular than it is.* *Average people will never spend hours looking up Guides and Tutorials for every single system in POE.*
I'm really hoping I like PoE 2 since all the big ARPG streamers are moving over to it. I like PoE 1 except for 1 very major thing, the combat is TERRIBLE! The 1 button spamathon makes the entire game feel like cookie clicker and that ruins the whole game for me regardless of how good the progression is. I really hope the combat in PoE 2 lives up to the hype
See I never played POE1 that way. Maybe that's why I always got wrecked at end game. I thought it was because I didn't follow build guides. If you look at the changes though like the multiple skill trees, how the skill gem system has changed means it will not be 1 skill focused
@@Mark-sd4hvtbh poe1 you want to put all your eggs in one or two baskets , and multiply a few stats but this game looks different from this formula and kind of like early mid game d2..
Crafting in PoE has been clunky at best. Increasing the drop rate for the currency while keeping the basic crafting process same is not going to generate a lot of hope for people like me. I just wish PoE can follow how Last Epoch handles crafting.
I think you should call this video "Introduction to PoE2 crafting". Calling it a guide right after the Fextralife it's not a good move imo Good video anyway
Crafting will be the same overcomplicated mess as it is in PoE1. They tend to confuse complexity with difficulty. transmutation orb, augmentation orb, alchemy orb, regal orb - all these 4 orbs are totally unnecessary. The idea should be simple in use but would have the same complexity. Exalted orb - the more mods you have the higher the cost is to add another mod. If an item has 0 mods then by adding 1 it turns into a magic item. If an item has 3 mods then adding another one turns the item into a rare one. Adding the first Mod costs 1 Exalted orb, adding the second one costs 2 Exalted Orbs, and so on. And just like this, we removed 4 Orbs from the game with the same complexity.
great idea. now people need to know how many orbs each additional affix costs and have to pick up 4 times as many of the same currency, with the same name and different usage depending on context. /s
@@Daccura A Terrible idea is to have useless Orbs like Transmutation Orb or Orb of Augmentation. Transmutation Org - Upgrade Normal to Magic with 1 mod. This is useless. Just add 1 mod with an already existing Exalted orb and this will upgrade Normal item to a Magic one. Orb of Augmentation - adding 1 mod to a magic item is the same story. We don't need this at all. We already have Exalted Orb to add more mods.

1 in 3 odd is very high chance you to hit what you want actually. If there only 3 possible cold mods on the item type
@@j.d.3890that isn’t how mod weights work
@@ronodmgOmens don’t work with essences
Is there a website for the possible pre - and suffix of items for poe2 yet?
ty for good content!
6th
@c-tothefourth4879 just saw it now but i cannot buy it
Do you think the orbs of chance can be used to get maybe a better item (at least on start) when you don't have any good item and you don't know what you are looking for
Might be lucky to get a rare item - might be better than what I am currently wearing
I predict Orb of Annulment will become the Premium Currency to buy finished crafted T5 Items or big Unique T5 Items.
Will Maxroll have some build guides up the 6th?
The only thing is that Poe2 might be easier for new players to get into, since the game is completely new and you don't have to learn about 11 years of convoluted mechanics lol
yea, the original PoE is insanely complex, take everything you saw here and multiply it by a thousand
but I don't wanna scare you :D They put a lot of effort to make it much more accessible in PoE 2
Are they gonna make actual item icons look different than POE 1? Maybe they are slightly different, but they still look ugly imo
I would like to see a flow chart for this. If I knew enough I would create one… any takers?!
Item level was not mentioned. Will item level work similarly in POE2 as in POE1?
tbh this mostly seems pretty vanilla compared to say LE crafting.. its mostly just add / remove random crap...
Separate loot
See, the weird part is, Exalts are dropping like candy for me. It's the Chaos Orbs I can't seem to get to drop. I've gotten like 50-60 Exalts to drop and I'm still in early maps. I've gotten two Chaos Orbs. Yet somehow, Chaos Orbs seem to be going for less than Exalts. Make it make sense lmao
Wooden Josephine in my walls, ahhhhh
So, if it's common to only have a couple Uniques combined with Rares, are Uniques really that build-defining? The database only shows a handful that seem impactful or game changing.
I will add that I am completely new to Path of Exile, haha.
There are starter uniques which help you to progress through the campaign or early end-game, and there are end-game uniques, which you can use to make a build around them, basically. Not every unique fit every build, but there are very strong uniques which you can use until you make your bis crafted rare or there are build-defining uniques, which works the same as in d4.
@@j.d.3890 Ah gotcha. I probably am jumping the gun then and should just wait to see what uniques are found...
How many uniques are in that data base. And as someone who is new, you do not have the knowledge to determine what is impactful.
@@c-tothefourth4879 Yeah you're right. I really do not have the knowledge to have thoughts on this...
Is there a way to make those character lower case?
Can you not revert rarity with omens, say you get a 3 mod rare, you could use the omen to remove 1/1 suffix hence going back to a magic 2/2 prefix? or vice versa
Nope
Once an item is yellow (rare) it can never go back. You can remove all the mods if you like but it would then be a 0 mod rare still.
Almost info is basic crafting from poe1, not leaked or misleading info. Why someone got mad 🤔
As someone with more than 8000 hours on POE I can't wait for Wudi to be better than me at POE2 1 week after launch :D But I'm enjoying being in the position of "this mofo has no idea what he's talking about" for now.
How have you got no idea what you are doing after 8k hours 😂
Talking about wudi trying to explain how the changes to the currency system will impact crafting
@@CrystalStearOfTheCas it's extremely basic, anyone who has played POE 1 should have picked it up from the reveal. It's literally the same orbs as POE 1, other than chaos being changed. You needed a video to know you transmute and augment?
@@c-tothefourth4879 Are we talking about the same game lmfao?
Quill Rain having 2.5 attack speed instead of 3.0 is CRIMINAL
If you upgrade your item from normal to magic or magic to rare, is there a risk that you raise the level / stat requirement and can no longer equip it?
No
each item has item level based on level of the locatoin and monster which has dropped it.
if you can equip a dropped base - means it will roll mods only within the range which fits that item level.
@@j.d.3890 thank you, that's incredibly helpful
感谢你~
So instead of all this diversity and crafting depth D4 can only suggest you to re-roll 1 stat again and again and again and again until you either run out of gold or die in cringe?
So gold is character bound and not account bound? I am thinking Last Epoch here lol.
Account
@c-tothefourth4879 ok thanks
Who would've known POE 2 is like POE 1. It's always going to be way more complex than D4.
Stop comparing Poe with D4 please. Those are different type of arpgs. Poe requires using ur brain meanwhile d4 is not. Diablo is meant to be for the 40-60 years old backseatgamer and has its own playerbase.
Great vid, maybe you can make a guide "Cry in Poe2" , ive never seen so much ppl crying, But to watch some good vids of Wudijo or something else nooooooo whyyyy!? why to watch this great video about crafting? naaaah better to cry in game.... watch this and more till your brains sore and than go play :-) great vid Wudijo , everytime I learn someting, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little less, but there is always something I dont know. keep it up
Are we going to have to buy a new updated currency tab or does the one we have will do?
Obviously it’s updated
Pretty sure the one from PoE1 will transfer and be fir poe2
Ehh Poe 2 is ok I’ll be going back to Poe 1 feels more like the old arpgs I like
Pretty useful, thanks!
My advice to new players, follow guides from experienced POE players, not from Diablo creators, who are btw very good in those games, but now try to surf on the POE2 hype to earn their income. Guys like POEGuy, Peuget2, Zizarian etc
does anybody knows the chances for Orb of Chance?
there are no confirmed ratios.
^^
Thx!
Played poe 1 through the campaign and I quit once I got to maps. Hopefully poe 2 gives me a better experience.
D:
campaign is not even considered as game in poe1, its just a tutorial which you should run through as fast as possible
Jesus why does this make no sense to me. 🤦♂️. I've listened to numerous tutorials on this too. I think I need to see it in action.
Would love more guides on POE2 crafting
It is more advantage guide.
D4 Killer
wudi joe
😵💫
Bump
I'm a D4 bad guy but the dude is literally trying to learn the game and bring his audience to PoE 2. Why bash him for it?
He isn't doing this video for us seasoned PoE players.
Hope it's not soooo complicated in PoE2. Things like this is what drove me away from PoE1...
maybe rerolling 1 stat in enchanter again and again and again and again untill you run out of gold is better game mechanic for you then.
I was fine until he started talking about the weight...completely lost me there
8 tiers of a stat, oh boy.
D4 also has tier stats... basically, defined by item power level.
This is where most currency will come from. D4 gamers who don’t want to interact with crafting =)
I thought we arent allowed to make guides for poe 2? Or is that limited fextralife and wudijo is above that request?
Can't make guides from any review builds. Wudijo is using the official video released by GGG, so no-one can stop him.
People that got access to the game early for review purposes had to sign an agreement to not make guides from that access
GGG can't just order someone to do or not do something 😂
Learn to read
WHY WOULD YOU UPLOAD THIS VIDEO BEFORE THE GAME IS EVEN RELEASED!!!! YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!
Auction house for gear is a must.
Trade site does it better than any ingame auction house would
@Bonwaa no way lol. hard pass on extra steps.
*"Beginner's" guide btw.* 🤣
*If Path of Exile was easier to understand, it would be A LOT more popular than it is.*
*Average people will never spend hours looking up Guides and Tutorials for every single system in POE.*
1 button for main skill, 1 for secondary, 1 for curses, 1 for defence, some for flasks.
See I never played POE1 that way. Maybe that's why I always got wrecked at end game. I thought it was because I didn't follow build guides.
If you look at the changes though like the multiple skill trees, how the skill gem system has changed means it will not be 1 skill focused
What's the difference between poe1 and d3/d2 😂
@@Mark-sd4hvtbh poe1 you want to put all your eggs in one or two baskets , and multiply a few stats but this game looks different from this formula and kind of like early mid game d2..
Crafting in PoE has been clunky at best. Increasing the drop rate for the currency while keeping the basic crafting process same is not going to generate a lot of hope for people like me. I just wish PoE can follow how Last Epoch handles crafting.
I think you should call this video "Introduction to PoE2 crafting".
Calling it a guide right after the Fextralife it's not a good move imo
Good video anyway
Nope. Wudi didn’t receive early access so that has zero relevance.
Too much random
What a terrible idea.
You never played poe if you think this is a good idea
good luck with economy then :)
