Get magic find gear and farm yellows and blues, check all, craft or improve if need be. My first run act 3 cruel with 80% mf i got a hammer with + 150% increase phys dmg + extra phys dmg, and other cool stats. Magic find and farm, right now, is better for mid game than crafting is. Once you get into maps and use even more magic find youll get tons of orbs to mess around with, but if your just starting maps your better off to just farm with MF and sort through everything you find. A good way to build your gold and sockets and quality orbs as well. Magic find might be rebalanced but for now its the way to go. Of course trading is even cheaper, one exalt and you can get just about anything you want mid game. I personally just go slow, grind new char till lvl 75 stone wall, make new character, check every drop, sell disenchant, repeat. Im even selling my junk map way stones. Rinse and repeat, build many high lvl characters, save millions of gold for respec, save all orbs, stock pile decent gear. Wealth is garhered over time, builds and patches and changes come and go, but a fat bank account can only help.
@Voli-it not entirely true, a little bit of spending on great finds doesn't hurt, just as long as your not spending tons. Meh, in the end our mid game currency is pennies, using some to further your campaign and practice won't be a problem, but an eye on the end game is crucial. Save, farm and learn, a stoic mindset will provide more success than the greedy rat race will.
Just imagine what happens when we get a character built out completely. Guess what we do then… we start all over and do it all again. For thousands of hours. That’s what these games are.
