Thanks for being so candid and so great at expressing yourself in such a charming way Brian May! Delivered in such a soft and distinctive voice you got my whole attention!
I'm glad he mentioned Wembley '86 as something he was proud of - that concert was exceptional. All 4 of them gave it everything they had and it showed. I've watched both songs they played on SNL - Under Pressure and Crazy Little Thing and I have no idea which song he messed up in his "solo". He played both songs confidently and he never got a "funny look" from Freddie or Rog so no idea what he's talking about messing up on SNL. Both of them sounded fine and his guitar exchanges for Crazy Little Thing were flawless.

Thank you so much for providing this Q&A. I find Brian's answers and point of view to be so fascinating! I appreciate how much care he puts into each answer. And his voice is so relaxing! I adore him!
Brian is wearing my favorite red tweed jacket during this interview in 1999 or early 2000. He started wearing this jacket prior to that date and in 2021 he still wears this jacket. I think it's a great jacket.
Yes Bri darling., we did notice Freddie's squeak on the word home. Why Freddie struggled with that specific word in that song every time he sang it is puzzling. It's the same note he sang earlier and totally nailed.
Brian is so charming. can't believe this humble man was the famous guitarist in the most famous rock band ever. On his marriage answer... i'd like to see his other side. lol
I think what he's referring to is how absorbed he gets when he's immersed in somthing that's comandeered his attention. He's got a bit of a compulsive side where he can't let soething go until he's "flogged it to death" and it's overdone. Anita (his current wife) has mentioned his obsession with scientific topics. She's said that when he gets started on a topic and becomes cerebral about it and she's totally out of her depth, she says "Would you like a cup of tea?" LOL
It's interesting to hear Brian's perspective from at least 18 years ago (though I think it might be a few years older than that), and I wonder how he'd answer the same questions now.
This must have been recorded between March 26th and July 19th 2000. American Beauty Oscars : March 26th 2000. His 53rd Birthday : 19th July 2000 Married Anita : November 2000.
This sounds a little older than 2001, maybe 1999? He wasn't yet married to Anita (which happened in 2000) He also says he's 52 here, and being born in '47, it doesn't really add up.
@@QueenDynamo he married Anita in November of 2000, in the interview he says well I've only been married once. So this interview was either in 1999 or before he married in November of 2000.
Brian May was once the "Love of My Life", "Good Company" & a "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy"... but later began to say: "Don't stop me Now I'm Here" "i want it all", "I want to break free" "Some Day, One Day" and thought he was "Doing Alright" wanting to "Play the game" with "one vision", but came "under pressure", & was deemed to be both "Death on Two Legs" & a "Liar", then soon realised he was "the loser in the end", thinking: "see what a fool I've been" - "I'm Going Slightly Mad" and so "Was It All Worth It?". They used to say to him: "You're My Best Friend" but now say "Who Needs You" ya "Great King Rat?"... "You Don't Fool Me" you "Stone Cold Crazy" "White Man" ... "Nevermore" will I "Let Me In Your Heart Again" Brian!
Interesting listening to him pondering what they might do in the future with the foreknowledge that from 2014 they would be touring with an American Idol contestant!

Then again, while speaking of doing less, and different levels, he then went on to list a gazillion things he was doing that made me want to take a rest LOLOL So a large part is just Bri thinking he's ever been different from how he has always been.
