The fact that all the members of queen were so open minded about Freddie's sexuality makes me so happy. It's so sad that he passed, he truly did change the world.
@@kostasthanos4440 i think he/she ment that, although Freddie is no longer with us, Freddie and his voice will always be in our hearts. As they say, legends never die.
Brian is completely right in his comments on Freddie’s sexuality. I can’t stand it when people say Fred was closeted. He just lived his life! That’s the way it should be.
Yeah, it's very strange. At that time it wasn't accepted to be open and out. He did the brave thing of simply dating and sleeping with whoever made him happy. Why did the press feel as if they were owed it for him to go to them and tell the world he wasn't straight
Same here. One thing that pisses me off is when freddie was sick a reporter followed him to the hospital and took pictures as he was leaving the hospital
The fact that Paul Daniels said that he didn’t really like queen or Freddie Mercury while sitting next to 2 of his best friends one week after he died is so ignorant
I remember the day Freddie Mercury died, like it was yesterday. I remember I used to read teletext every morning whilst I was getting ready for school. I was 15 and in year 10. I remember shouting to my mum ‘mum, Freddie Mercury has died!’ I’ll never forget, she was washing the breakfast pots, I heard her clattering pots, then she came running into the front room. We were both just speechless. That day at school, everybody was talking about it and we were all so sullen. We were at an age where a lot of our parents were big Queen fans and we loved a lot of the old songs and especially the more recent songs because they were released in our lifetime. That day we had a music class and instead of doing what we were supposed to doing, the whole class burst into a full rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. Our teacher was so angry, but we didn’t care and didn’t stop. We wanted to honour Freddie in that moment. Their are certain celebrity or high profile deaths that no matter how old you get, or how long ago it happened, you never forget the details, it imprints on your memory forever - Princess Diana was another in 1997. My sister came bounding into my room waking me up to tell me! It’s just shocks you into silence and your mind just goes far away. Kurt Cobain in 1994 is as clear as day for me, as well.
Yeah, like Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, John Lennon, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Stuart Sutcliffe, Brian Epstein, George Martin, Linda McCartney, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, David Richards, Charlie watts, David Bowie, Mickaël Jackson, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Ben E. King, Richard Wright, Eddie van Halen and a lot of people😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥.
I love how they stand up for Freddy, both Brian and Roger. They really loved their friend and wanted to speak up for him after he tragically died. True friends.
They are destroyed right here, it took courage to even have an interview at this time. Bless you Roger and Brian, friends until the end. #FreddieForever.
Bravvo Brian forcing through about the HIV/ AIDS awareness in the end👏👏❤❤. I wonder why the another guy ore the knob as Roger called him so nicely later was there in the first place 🤔
My sorrow also goes to those who became hiv because of blood transfusions for haemophiliac children, who are regarded as an enemy. I heard of one poor little boy who’s family’s house was burned down
Today in 1991, we lost one of the greatest, most powerful voices in rock history, Freddie, we're ready! We will never forget you, we miss and love you always!
Watching this interview in 2021, nearly 30 years after Freddie’s death, I am honestly touched by the sweet words of support by Brian May and Roger Taylor; You can tell how much they loved their friend and how much ahead of their time they were talking about homosexuality and the virus especially in an age when AIDS was still deadly and taboo. Kudos to this great band and to their friendship.
I'm so sad he died when I was only 3 months old ): I wish he was still here and didn't suffer the way he did. I'm going to be 30 soon and Queen is my favorite band. I'm so grateful that this band exists. I love how Brian and Roger defended him after he passed. I'm sure this interview was hard to do ): Rest in paradise Freddie darling
That.....is really fast for an interview after a mate dies!!!! Like I’ve seen friends and family talking in public months on months later~ even years. Wow damn a week?!!!!!!!!! I feel they did this more to clear the air of what actually happened with Freddie! With all the disgusting rumors and mean comments!!! They shouldn’t feel like they should come out to talk about the life! She should of been mourning and reminiscing his life not be at studios for interviews!!!!!!

Those british tabloids killed princess diana and ruins johnny Depp's career. Imagine Freddies situation? Like brian said he's like a prisoner in his own house. And he was very sick at that time.
To be fair Daniels did go on to say that he wasn't a fan of any music because he had his head down into his magic. Daniels also went on to say Freddie Mercury will ultimately defeat the press who wrote the spiteful false rumours about him. He said Freddie will be victorious over the toxic press who write all the nasty crap, that was a respectful comment to make about Freddie.

Y'all don't know what a joke is ? His straight peers can fuck can their way through underage groupies and each other's wives but Freddie making 1 joke on tabloids' expense is what you call irresponsible lol.
They did this interview because of how much awful press came out so suddenly after Freddie's death. They felt they had to defend Freddie's legacy and his character.
You can literally see how broken both of them are. I think they were really brave to come on while they were still grieving and not only defend Freddie’s character and clear up all of the crap that had been said about him but also speak out about AIDS and try and raise awareness especially with all the false beliefs that surrounded the condition at the time.
They hadn't done this interview if press hadn't been so bad . In The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, you can see at some points that John was holding back tears especially in I Want It All with Roger Daltery
