- Queen BBC Radio 1 Interview 1977 Episode 1
Interviewer is DJ Tom Browne.
There are two parts to this interview. The first part was broadcast on December 24, and the second on December 26.
I mixed the interview so it would be into two parts, as the 2012 reprint include the interview as one whole part.

Freddie is so proud of Brian's astronomy "tell him about your zodiacal light"....such a sweet heart Freddie was.
What IS Brian's zodiacal light?
@@daffodilyellow2430 Cancer
@@martydixon647 but is that what Freddie was referring to- he said zodiacal "light" not zodiac "sign" so I wondered if it was something else Freddie was referring to?
@@daffodilyellow2430 you're right - I misread the line - it could mean many things, couldn't it?
@@martydixon647 it's intriguing 🤔
"And occasional vocals, Roger Taylor" -- Sometimes it's necessary to remind people. ;D
He basically was THE other lead vocalist, especially live (the high parts/choruses)
@Kostadin Kokofrengo yes he was..
@@sarahlbeeney1920 *is
@@thebeatlesfan25 oops sorry, yes it is…
Not for those ‘who know’!
"John, can I go to you now? We haven't heard from you..."
*Shy panic*
Cool move really from the interviewer 😄
No mention of the deacy amp, he is modest
THE WAY FREDDIE SAID HIS NAME
The way they all said there name is fitting for there personalities
I guess when you choose your own name you get more excited about it.
4 very intelligent men worked so well together.
always get the impression roger hated not being acknowledged for his vocals, he always corrects the interviewer when they say he only does drums, whereas Brian doesn’t, perhaps because hes also credited as the songwriter
What I like about the band Queen is their respect for each other despite of the bad press release
…bad press release aimed towards Freddie Mercury
They were very intelligent and yes they all were good looking. That is a beautiful picture of them. I wish I had a poster of them like that. They are beautiful. I thought I was the only one that love to listen to Freddie talk. Wow! Freddie is contagious. Everyone is catching the love Freddie love queen craze. They are a unique one of a kind band. They are soooooo. Alluring. They are beautiful, gorgeous.

@@IsauraMartins 6:03 - he starts: and then talks for about 2 minutes, I’m so proud!!!!!!!!!!
I could listen to them talk for hours. Their voices are so soothing! 🤧💕💕💞💓
I listen to this interview every night to fall asleep by. Such soothing voices and I adore them. Especially Freddie. The other interview I listen to is the one Freddie did with Mary Turner. So good!
Literally
11:22 “tell them about your zodiacal light” 🥰
Freddies speaking voice is beautiful
On the other hand... Brian finished his Ph.D thesis.. So he is now a full time rock star and a part time astrophysicist. What a life!
Blah blah, another millennial hangeron comment after the movie...what not a life!

Bingo, so predictable. Good life to you, in Jesus name amen
They are all professionals but they have choosen to be a musicians ,now we missed them terribly .

Classy interviewer. The members seem to be comfortable talking to him

THIS IS THE BEST ROCK GROUP EVER CREATED LOVE LOVE LOVE MY BABIES❤👑❤
Underrated comment❤️
John Deacon was their financier and crew manager...you can see in interviews when they’re asked about such matters, they all turn to John for the answers... John’s birthday is on 19th August 2023....Happy Birthday John, I hope you’re keeping well🌺

aww. they are so cute in this picture
Just can't stop listening to freedie n queen
They r so humble n give honest information on how they developed their band
Quiet an inspection for younger generation but not possible to come to their dedication n talent together ❤️ they were powerful
I agree with all comments. 4 simple talented guys get themselves ,formed Queen and became a legend today! AMAZINGLY FABULOUS AND INCREDIBLY FANTASTIC AND GORGEOUS. VERY HUMBLE
Freddie Mercury: The only man I know of who could look adorable in a t-shirt with a rainbow on it!
And gold necklaces!

The way Freddie says his name @ 0:28 ... *Holy fucking shit*

I cant stop replaying it help

Is that Brian laughing?
@@saoirse2963 I'm not sure, really. It sounds most like Brian to me. But I don't know.
I think that's the interviewer

John is so modest 💞
They were all so smart!
Such a great band.Every one was intelligent. The way they interviewed.Sound that they are down to earth. I still Love you Queen. You are the Love of my life always.
Love em, wish I could go to one of their concerts back in the 70s 😪
Love the band! They are amazing. Freddie has this charisma you can't resist! Love him❤
John is so shy. 😚
you can't tell
John is reserved rather than shy
I love listening to these old interviews. One of the best bands ever and a great front man who died way too soon. I love you Freddie you are lived and missed. RIP❤🔥
This is one of my favorite interviews of them. 😂
Queen forever!
Freddie Mercury is a genius💛
All four of them are very good looking men!
wonderful to get a glimpse of their personalities.
Guys you are beautiful, we love you all! ❤
Fascinating, never heard this interview and I thought I had seen and heard every bit of footage and interviews etc and then this pops up, I’m hopeful I will stumble upon more. Greatest humans to have ever walked this earth , Miss you Freddie 👑🎤🎹🎸🥁👑❤️
What a great pleasure to listen to those beautiful voices from those intelligent and brilliant minds! Love Queen ❤🎉
I've been a Queen fan for years, but before listening to this I had no idea that John knew Brian and Roger prior to auditioning for Queen!
Very good interview
John wasn’t as shy as people think ❤
Miss you Freddie
Queen II is a masterpiece and my favourite album, and cover, of my favourite band!
29:17 I LOVE THESE NERDS
I love that Brian and Roger chorused on that part lmao
I think you meant musical geniuses?!
I LOVE THEM AHAHAH
Love them all
Freddieeee Mercuryyyyy
Fr me freddie s voice his talking voice gives me such comfort
"If everybody agrees , we leave." Lol Rog
What was the timestamp? Thx
❤Queen Forever!❤
Freddie says "sort of" a lot
Menos es más
John’s is “Y’know?”
the 4 are a legend of queen
I just Love Queen
Imagine the music industry almost dropping the ball on Queen then they finally got their shit together... Especially when they tried to shoot down BoRap saying it was to long and gibberish...
John was never very rock and roll, hence his taste in music and the later black soul ideas he and Freddie ‘introduced’ to the band. Not really Brian and Roger’s bag, but they were a truly democratic band. They fought at times, but they always respected each other ideas.
I don't think so. Listen to Rogers fight from the inside and fun it.
Where is part 2? Tell me, I WANT IT NOW!!!1!
Seven seas of rhye is a masterpiece 🎤🎵🎸🎶🎼🎹
This is so good. Is Part 2 anywhere?

Entrevista incrível! Porque não tem legendas? Facilitaria bastante. Thks 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
0:28 - Please prepare your ears.
Good choice John 😊😗
I lv him so much
The presenter sounds a lot like the actor James Mason.
Mary Austin is selfishly auctioning off his stuff and bulldozing his house. 😢 😢😢😢A least make a museum of his home. I never liked her. Look how many times she married and kept Freddie on leash. He even became Godfather to her kid - she didnt give him kids.
Oh yes!...I completely agree with you ...she was hanging in there for the payday...she asked Freddie if they could have a baby...wise Freddie said no....when Freddie died , Jim Joe Peter and others asked to have the cats...she didn’t like cats...she said no...the day Freddie died the tomcat left Garden Lodge never to return...there’s a statement for you from a cat......she guilt tripped poor Freddie....it seems a vicious thing to do...getting rid of all Freddie’s belongings...you’re right about having a museum......Kind generous loving Freddie...sleep well ..Our Persian Prince❤
John doesn't talk much
no shit sherlock

"how does he react to daddy being a big star?"
"I don't know, he can't talk yet."
where’s the episode 2 to this interview?
I didn't know the bass was also called iellectric guitar I thought it was a bass ..Unless John Deacon was beIN polite,as usual.
When does he call the bass an electric guitar?
he called it electric piano which is what they called keyboard synthesizers back then.
@@Nina-oi1qk Not quite. Electric piano is an instrument in its own right, which has either strings like a piano or metal 'tines', and magnetic pickups like an electric guitar. Queen did not use a synthesizer until 1980. The only Queen song I can think of with an electric piano is 'You're My Best Friend', which is presumably what the interviewer is referring to.
@@rhapsag yes thats the song on which Deaky played for YOu're my best friend. I honestly thought that they were pre historic synthesizers.
@@Nina-oi1qk There were synthesizers around before that (e.g. the Moog, as heard on The Beatles' 'Abbey Road' from 1969, or 'Switched on Bach' by Wendy [Walter] Carlos from 1968). They were a maze of wires and controls, with a very small keyboard.

I once read that Freddie Mercury never commented on his origins and family because he was an illegitimate child of the Lord Luis Mountbatten, sth he wanted to hide from common public. And that he actually spoke with Royal English Accent (not foreign English accent) because he was educated as any member of the Royal Family would be. This type of accent is very rare and only used by a small number of people in the upper class. This also explains his excellent manners and intelligence. Dear British fans could you please tell if you think Freddie indeed spoke with Royal English Accent? Would be very interesting to know.
Бред сумасшедшего!!!🤯🤯🤯
I would love the substance you are on! Utter tosh!
Freddie was from an Parsi Indian family, you dumby.

Have you uploaded part 2 all this interview from 1977
