Another one for the archives. Brian May enthusiasts will be watching these great videos for generations guys. Thanks to Jon, Andrek and Dan for hosting, filming and editing the day. 🎉💜
When I went for my first guitar lesson, I took the Special out of the gig bag. My guitar tutor said, “okay, let’s see what we have here.” He took a look at it and said, “Oh, that’s a Brian May guitar. I have never seen one or played one before.” I handed it to him and he played it, liked it very much, he was very impressed by the tremelo
I saw a previous talk and I feel at home with him as Brian and I similar age and his Father sounds exactly like my Dad. He built our first TV set and radios as Brian's Father did.. Incredible. I was in Margate at the time..I can see Brian has a good understanding of technology as well as very similar. Today I am still involved with Radio and electronics as a hobby. Good to see Brian again. A Gentleman in the Music Industry.
Brian is such a great guy. I love the way he's so enthusiastic in every field he does projects in. It's like watching a kid in a candy shop. My favourite moment is when the mister from Mexico hands that amazing guitar over to Brian.
Dear Brian someone was talking to me today about Eykleides and how genius he was (maths, poetry, astronomy) and my answer was hold my beer, my hero is Brian May. Love u dear doc
Again, I'm so grateful we can rewatch it all; our brains can only memorize bits and pieces (or at least mine 😅). As I expected, it was painful to relisten to my question, because I messed up terribly in the middle, but thankfully, Brian also answered the questions I didn't ask, so it was a wonderful outcome. 😊 He's just amazing!
I wouldn't worry about messing up your question, he knew what you were asking and answered it. You did a great job. So important to be able to watch it all back and remember what was said. I had forgotten so much of it
This brings back all memories of this unforgettable day. Thank you all for organizing, hosting, filming, editing and uploading!!! Actually I have to pinch myself when I see this footage, sometimes I'm afraid this day was only a dream.... 🥰
@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast Brian looked almost moved to tears and then later looked more proud than when he was knighted. All you need to know about it him as a human being is in that clip. Wonderful man. And let’s not forget Carlos’ amazing generosity.
I've never ever tried a Brian May guitar but he mentions the 'thick' neck and that interests me.I like a thick Les Paul neck so 'May'be I will take to it. Sorry for the bad pun. Great GREAT video. Thanks !
I'm utterly gutted that I found out about the Red Special Guitar Meet on the very day it was held. I was going to get tickets and go. I do hope Bri does another one next year (in the UK) ???
Tickets sell out really fast each year to the meet-up. You really need to follow the podcast on social media to see when they release and be there when they are available to try and get one. There is also absolutely no guarantee that any guests will attend any year or that Sir Bri will come back.
Great Brian is looking better after the stroke (if this event was held after it). I love that there is a meet-up for enthusiasts of the Red special guitar (I just found out about it) and that Brian was there, does he always go to the meet-up? I understand though, I'm fast becoming an enthusiast too, it has a such a nice, unique sound, unfortunately I don't play guitar though and don't understand much, I just listen. This looks like such a meet-up for nerds, I absolutely love it.
I'm just mindblown that Brian and his dad built such a guitar, with not enough money and stuff they had at hand. Like how did they do it, that's what I'm thinking about.
And I love how Brian almost got stoked up and mindblown getting gifted that amazing looking guitar from the guy from Mexico. What a sweet human being, that must have made the fans and guitar builders day or maybe even year.
It’s a great day and has been going on for some time. If you want to try to attend it’s best to follow us on social media to see when tickets are available. They sell really quickly though
The sounds of revving engines at a drag car meeting; the smell of burning rubber on bitumen or high-octane fuel vaporizing into the air; the notion of tuning a Steinway grand piano to the open strings of a Red Special guitar and not the other way around: these ideas come to me every time I hear Brian May's guitar. Sorry. I should say Sir Brian May's guitar.

Thanks Doug. Its was a great day and good to capture to put out so others could share in it. Still cant believe it happened
Thanks!

This is what the Rick Beato interview should've been like! Bless Sir Brian, and bless the Red Special podcast for this!
From, across the pond.

I'd love Brian to do this as some kind of tour.
You never know he might attend another one - one day

@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast Could Sir Brian be labelled as successor to that redneck guitarist Danny Gatton? Or is he from somewhere else?
who miked it? the sound is awful
We didn’t know he was coming so it was recorded on an iPhone
Thanks for you comment…
