Queen is the best super great Group in the World. Congratulations on the 55 years Anniversary of your creative fantastic magnificent extraordinary lovely art music works. Queen was born to love 0670 in London 💞🥂🍾🎂✨🎀🎁🎸🎶🎶💃🔥🎑📻🎶🎙️🎶🌹💐
Next year will be 50 years that I’ve listened to them. I always especially loved when we’d hear a brand new song on the radio. Sometimes the station was just coming back from some commercials and we’d instantly pay attention-a new song we’d never heard; not knowing the group, then catch the harmonies and Then “QUEEN’S GOT A NEW SONG ON THE RADIO!!!!”
I was just a little girl rocking out with Queen on the radio every chance I got! I still rock out with Queen almost every day even though I just turned 59!❤️ I guess you guys can say you raised me with your lyrics..
Am I the only one hanging on every word though we already know most of the history? They dreamt big and made it even bigger. I feel so like a proud daughter 😍💖
Brian's dad asking him if he was 'putting anything away for the future' - I think Brian's done alright in that regard, and so he should have, having poured his heart into this great band.
Epic episode! It's incredible to think how far Queen came from virtually nothing. John Deacon was really the final piece of the puzzle, and the story of those early recordings at De Lane Lea Studios is pure magic! Thanks for taking us behind the scenes of this amazing musical journey!
My first Love. In 1984 I got hold of my sisters copy of A Night at the Opera and after that there was no return. Thanks for putting this together, I will watch all episodes with delight.
If anyone hasn't already done so, check out Roger's interview on BBC Sounds with Jo Whiley. Wonderful recalling of the band in it's earliest days. AND check him out singing Jealous Guy on Jools Holland. My goodness - what a performance.
QUEEN WERE THE BEST BAND AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH TIME PASSES THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST BECAUSE OF THEIR 4 GREAT MUSICIANS, AND THEIR GREAT SONGS FREDDIE MERCURY, JOHN DEACON, ROGER TAYLOR AND BRIAN MAY. FOREVER QUEEN I LOVE THESE QUEEN GUYS❤❤❤❤💛💛💛💛❤️❤️❤️❤️
Queen I is such an amazing record. I had Queen’s Greatest Hits when I was a kid. But it was buying their first album that made me a FAN. Nothing from that first release found its way on to the Greatest Hits: and yet the whole album is utterly brilliant. That was when I knew I had found a group that had something to offer in real depth, not just their most popular songs. When I heard Keep Yourself Alive for the first time is when my life-long love affair with Queen began. Still one of my all-time favourite albums. Great to hear that it is being revisited by Brian and Roger.
The story is always lovely and interesting, I love this band so much. But please stop pitch correcting the vocals so much and please don't use generative AI in videos anymore
It’s nothing to do with you how Queen produce their music, it wasn’t in 1973 and it isn’t now. You undoubtedly love them, but their music is theirs to do as they wish.
Their new songs were always quite recognizable, once they got to the vocals-melody by one or harmonies by some. The radio DJs at the classic rock-n-roll station in Little Rock (KLPQ-they said LP was for ‘Long Playing’ as in albums, and they were “The Album Station.” They played 3 full albums every day, and had “mini-concerts” every 3 hours of three songs in a row by one group.) would generally play a new Queen song for the first time as they were coming back from a commercial break with no introduction. So you’d just hear a new song, with just music, not vocals. Then you’d hear vocals--“Hey Queen has a new song out!” Glory days.
Queen forever
Wonderful to have these insights to early Queen! I hope this turns many more people on to the magic of those early albums. It's also inspiring for young and old to know more about the hard long road and what it was like until recently for artists to be able to record. It took a lot of work to become good and then the social networking so that the industry people learn of you. PS - Loved hearing the rollicking bass guitar loud n clear in the end part ith Keep yourself alive
I read a great book about Trident and its owners. “Life On Two Legs” with Norman Sheffield. Interesting back story about the equipment used and how studio recording generally worked at that time. Many famous groups recorded there. I took his comments about Queen with a big grain of salt.
I first heard their 1st Album at a friends place. I said who is this band your playing here now? My friend said QUEEN. What??? Who the hell calls themself QUEEN? Show me the cover of the album please I said. I was hooked. The very next day I went out and bought the album. OMG BRILLIANT. Then I bought everything that came out over the years and to this day. Long live Freddie and Long Live QUEEN.
Wish they'd left Freddie's vocals as it is. It also feels kind of cleaned up around the edges. I want Freddie the way he is on record in the master tape.
I love all Queen eras, but the early Queen has a special place in my heart 🖤
agree❤❤
@@evandroid Me too!!❤️❤️
This is the part of Queen's history I love the most--a young, hungry, and confident early 70's rock band.
I love how Brian has kept his hair. He just wouldn't be the same man without it! ❤ Queen forever, baby, yeah! ❤❤❤
It's magnificent! And highly appropriate for him as a physicist. Very Newtonian, like a modern day Issac Newton.
@@artyfartblast3289 Brian like many Very Clever People borderline on eccentricity! 🤣
Always great to listen to Brian and Roger telling Queen stories 🙂
Ah, the early Queen, I was a young 18 yr old when I saw them at Preston, Nov 1974. I was hooked, still am aged 68
My Neighbor also saw them on the SHA tour in Birmingham, He still has his ticket
I bet that was the coolest show ever. I am happy for you having experienced that.

One of the best debut albums ever. Perfection from start to finish.
Queen, one of my favorite debut albums of all time.
Didn't sell though..thankfully they stuck it out and became legends..very different today where there is a new thing every year

Will be 66 this year, and I've just discovered hard rock! However, I love all that Queen has done, including Freddie' collaboration with Montserrat.

Was delightful to hear Simon's voice. Do so miss the QueenPod!
